in this scenario, the leet pilot would move on and fly with the noob gunner. if the pilot was leet, he wouldnt depend on the noob gunner, but it at least allows the pilossiblity (keyword possiblity) that the noob gunner can hop out to cap a flag, or maybe just kill one or two enemies in his time with the leet pilot..INSTEAD of the leet pilot making it or breaking it to cap flags or kills alone....again..TEAM WORK.. albiet a noob gunner..your team is as strong as the weakest link.

all i am saying is dont let a position go to waste.

dude you say this cause you play in servers with noobs in them were u probably dont have chopper wars were tv missiles are what keeps you alive which calls you to have a good gunner or be a good solo chopper guy. try out fhm clan server and you'll see what i mean if you have a noob gunner with you. the ip is 70.86.173.155. play against my buddies which include fhm madmax, fhm doip, fhm silicon based, fhm theshocker187, and alot more. if your flying a noob gunner or cant tv worth a sh it then you'll just be feeding them kills and if you do have the balls to take my challenge, come back and tell me that having a noob gunner doest matter that much.

you have either got unreal eyesight or really bad eyesight.

1.a tank as a mg on top that can take a chooper out
2.the noob gunner maybe trying to kill the mg gunner from killing you
3.shooting a tank would distract the tank from killing infantary for a few seconds

spend less time evaluating the gunner skill and more time using youre missiles on the tank,

you cant tell me that you can see everything !!

the gunner will not always be looking at what you are,
or infact the gunner may have spotted a at lining you up and chose that a priority target ect,or even a m95 sniper blah blah.

70% of so called noob guners think about how many ppl you are accusing of not being skilled when in fact you have only every tried more like 2% of the bf2 comunity in you trial by death gunner seat.

also its not just about wining its about being reasable not everyone can play the game you want it to be played just like most ppl dont like the way solo's play the game.

play on sharki as usa and go over the the mec heli base and rape consitant chopper whore's with the m95 and let a noob get in the heli or force him in by shoting around him that way they get some praccy but dont go around solo'ing

I love owning "L33t" solo pilots in 'em.

Let me illistrate by way of example:

Not too long ago I was playing a few round where the enemy team had a perty damned good solo attack chopper pilot. He was making some mad TVGM kills, turky shooting our choppers on their pad, and generally making things rather hard for us. Lots of people were complaining on both sides. Some noobs on my team were crying "hacks" and people on his team were ticked 'cause they wanted to gun.

Eventually, I ended up picking up our chopper and was joined by a buddy of mine who's quite a noob (Not that he's clueless, but he only had about 20 hours worth of game time at this point).

So up we go. I knew full well that he really didn't have much of a chance at pegging this guy off with TVGMs since at this point he'd never even fired one on. I told him to not worry about using them... stick to cannons. I began hunting.

After blowing Mr Solo guy outta the air 6 times in a row, he logged off.


I don't consiter myself to be an exceptional chopper pilot... just a smart one. I know damned well that I can't afford to fly in any predictable way when someone's getting ready with a TVGM. I also know that he's got ONE shot. If he misses, he's cannon fodder. Close distance and pound him with rockets and guns. When it's a solo pilot you're up against and you've got a gunner, you hold all the cards. He has to stop manuvering to get his TVGM off and can't use the cannon when you close range.

So... grab a gunner 'n eat 'em up.

its possible with the mec cannon for a noob to kill someone. but when its china vs us. both mg's are crap and if you have to rely on your mg on either side, then you need more practice. and i would love to solo against you and your buddy. your more than welcome to stop by 70.86.173.155 server anytime. its 24/7 dalian plant. i would love nothing more than to prove wrong those who say its better to fly with a noob than fly alone if your good at both with the exception of the mec chopper cause all u need is a competent idiot who can click with the mec chopper cannon. oh and mr wargimp, no offense, but judging from your stats, lol u wouldnt stand a chance against me alone even if u had the mec chopper with a decent gunner. http://bf2s.com/player/wargimp/

I will admit to pilotting and gunning by myself often, even in situations where I could pick up a gunner. Why ? Simple: I do more for the team by myself than if I was hindered by another player. Is it extremely selfish and rude ? Yes. Do I end up making a huge difference in tickets ? Yes.

In my naive/stupider days, I used to think it was possible to turn even the worst of gunners and pilots into efficient killing machines by simple instruction over VOIP and text... well, not so. The biggest problem facing new pilots is a serious lack of situational awareness, control of the helo or both. As for the gunners ? Not responding fast enough to spots, lining up TV shots for > 10 seconds before making a firing attempt, generally not having good (again) situational awareness. It goes on and on...

My point is, if I can do much better alone, why should I oblige myself to another player in the helo ? It's illogical, counter-productive, annoying, frustrating and, at the risk of sounding redundant, generally a waste of time, tickets and victories.

I will accept your flames, but only because I rightfully deserve them. However, know this: if I'm on your team, you can rest assured that air support will make your flag capping and movement on the ground extremely pleasant...

AND for the record: I do not care about stats, k/d ratio, wins, anything like that. I have fun killing people in a computer game. I did the same from BF42 demo to now, just kill, regardless of stats.

My prefered take on it is to make a new squad when I snag a pilot's seat and invite the gunner into my squad. Then I can VOIP with him and hand out tips.

If he's totally useless and/or doesn't accept the invite, I'll start flying like a mad man (doing loops 'n stuff). That usually convinces him to bail out

we warn single attack pilots to get a gunner
does not matter how good they are
this is a team sport
we even let noobs fly
however - if they crash or are worthless
we warn them to go home and practice
and does matter how good/bad a gunner/pilot is
you NEED good radio between team
hell - even clanmates on ventrilo do not always see what the other guy is seeing - even when being YELLED at
in summary - single pilots are NOT welcomed in our server

I have no problem with Solo Gunner flying. It take some good practice and skill to do. I will agree that everyone started as a noob and had to learn how to use the TVGM. The only time I ever solo is if there is nobody around my chopper at the time.

For instance in Kubra Dam. Ill spawn at the MEC airfield to grab the chopper and there is nobody around, then Ill solo. However, if there is someone there I will NEVER sit there saying "GET OUT GET OUT" or hover out of bounds to kill them. I have had that tactic used on me once before by some noob who though he could fly and ended up hittign trees 30 seconds after take off. They need to be banned from the game or worse. But I never think of myself being selfish in any way for I give people plenty of opportunity to hop in and gun. I have turned many a noob into a decent gunner by using a "properly set-up" voip. They didnt know they could adjust the missle in flight so I had to do an on-sight training session right on the spot.

I'm sure there are plenty of solo'ers out there who think nothing but themselves and wanna rack up kills. Sure I love getting all the kills soloing, but if I see that my team needs me somewhere on the battlefield that requires I stop soloing I will go to their aid. If Im soloing and I hear somebody saying "Gimme a ride!", Ill hover down and pick them up. I hope this post encouraged selfish solo whores to become teammate solo'ers!

P.S.: I ONLY solo if there is NOBODY around!
