The incredible maturity of the words "noob" and "ownage". Look son, if you want real ownage, stand in the middle of Harlem and yell the N word. This is BF2. It is a game where a mouse and keyboard lead morons like yourself to believe they are special.

I will solo gun if the server is relativley empty or if no one gets into my chopper. I usually land by groups of people to see if people want to gun.

But i have had times when i have seen solo pilots TK to -30 and still come top of the server. So in the next rounds i set out to kill him constantly wether he was on my team or not. He eventually got annoyed and disconnected.

I hear a lot of "choppers are meant for 2 people". Well, jeeps are also meant for multiple people, so are APC's, so are tanks, yet people use them alone almost exclusively, and nobody ever complains about it. Care to explain?

Actually don't bother, because I already know the reason. It's because solo gunning is HARD, and most of you people suck at it, therefore you are against it. Plain and simple.

It was the same thing with C4 throwing. People whined all day about how it was stupid, and unrealistic. Meanwhile, there is nothing unrealistic AT ALL about it compared to a million other things in this game. What is so far fetched about throwing a lightweight explosive a few feet away from you, then backing up and detonating it? Seems pretty damn plausible to me, considering that you can revive people from being blasted by a tank shell, or repair a chopper in 3 seconds just by hovering over a pad, not to mention a thousand other parts of the game that are totally unrealistic, yet nobody complains because they are EASY, while C4 throwing required practice.

Point is, when I see somebody solo gunning, I know immediately that they are a quality player. It takes a sh*tload of skill to be proficient at it, and that's the ONLY reason that you people are complaining about it.
well changing to the gun on the jeep when solo jeeping has this affect.......
1.the jeep stops pretty dam quick
2.you are vunrable to snipers --- i no i shoot them all the time
3.is easy to get in a jeep 30meters away but not a heli 100feet in the air
4.jeeps out number choppers on most maps so there plenty to go around
5.jeeps explode very easy and dont have a 3 second repair shop like a heli pad.
6.as for apc most ppl dont like the small view and chaingun combo
7.i personaly wouldn't chase a apc just to have a go on the chain gun's
8 tanks are slow and easy to catch for a lift /mg
9.again tank mg'er easy pickings for a sniper
10.if you play in a clan or somthing then yeh fly solo if you must, but dont be mr l337,and fly on a public and complain about ppls tv skills/gunnery skills.

i dont fly choppers but i dont mind having a go in the gunner seat from time to time.
i wouldnt say im skilled either, just take the oppurtunity when it rises.
if you do use this tactic in a clan game then keep you pracy on single player and let OTHER PLAYERShave some fun....

it doesnt matter if there not 100% accurate when you line up a tv,dam with youre l337 skill why dont you use youre missiles when you have a tank lined up???????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????

maybe the other person was looking at somthing else at that split second!!!

yes im sure there a few ppl with bad skills on the gunner seat but to flame everyother player on a server is a bit childish to be fare.

i like to see how l337 you are when my m95 go though youre l337 chopper window and youre l337 chopper goes crashing down with out a scratch on it.

or even better a 1 v 1 sniper battle on the ground between me and you from 350 m and see how l337 you are.

anyway i think you get the point now.
i just hope you give ppl a chance to learn when there in youre gunner seat, just be a bit more patience a few runs back and forth to the heli pad and they might just get the nick of it.

i remeber when i 1st got in the gunner seat the pilot was ace but didnt throw his toys out the pram when i missed a tv,he stuck in there for the whole round and i slowly picked it up.

          give it a try.
you get alot more respect if just tryed to help ppl i bet most would be gratfull and you get some kill assist for you time.

and maybe a few extra deaths to go with it,

maybe you should stop picking random kits and jump in to chopper to make you stats look good, and instead improve you weapon k.d ratio a bit

i just looked at your'e stats and it obvious most of you kit kills are in a heli or other.

but you actual weapon stats suck even "noobish" to put it that way

This coming from a member of one of the biggest exploiter clans ever.

The only other clan i can think of that trumps yours on level of smacktardedness is BSF, and luckily most of them have been reset/banned for stat padding.

Re: Getting kicked for flying chopper solo

i often get killed as pilot, because i fly around trying to get ppl to get in the gunner seat.....i go to ppl and hit 'get in'....'mount up'....and they sit either campin another vehicle spawn, or just run off as infantry.....after a few minutes of this, a jet will bomb me, or i'll catch a tv guide to the face....

im not that bad as pilot either, i can usually stay alive along time, and i line everything up real nice for the gunner....and i keep it lined until a bigger threat presents itself, or until the target is dead...

i do get impatient often, at pilots who jus fly around real fast and not let me gun anything, then crash into the ground....and gunners who dont shoot the enemy heli when ive been lined up perfectly for about 20 minutes...lol...

dude that is so common-sense.....so true...

funny thing is tho...i havent even thought of that.....i garentee u now my patience for these ppl will increase 10 fold

Correct, and correct. I only do the 2nd thing after I've given them a chance as gunner and they 9/10 times shoot chaingun at a tank.

Re: Getting kicked for flying chopper solo

I will admit to pilotting and gunning by myself often, even in situations where I could pick up a gunner. Why ? Simple: I do more for the team by myself than if I was hindered by another player. Is it extremely selfish and rude ? Yes. Do I end up making a huge difference in tickets ? Yes.

In my naive/stupider days, I used to think it was possible to turn even the worst of gunners and pilots into efficient killing machines by simple instruction over VOIP and text... well, not so. The biggest problem facing new pilots is a serious lack of situational awareness, control of the helo or both. As for the gunners ? Not responding fast enough to spots, lining up TV shots for > 10 seconds before making a firing attempt, generally not having good (again) situational awareness. It goes on and on...

My point is, if I can do much better alone, why should I oblige myself to another player in the helo ? It's illogical, counter-productive, annoying, frustrating and, at the risk of sounding redundant, generally a waste of time, tickets and victories.

I will accept your flames, but only because I rightfully deserve them. However, know this: if I'm on your team, you can rest assured that air support will make your flag capping and movement on the ground extremely pleasant...

Hmm maybe this is the guy that did that to me the other night on Crow Clan's server. I hopped in as a gunner (cause I can't fly very well). I actually prefer to be a gunner because I'm very good with TV guided missles. Anyway he flys straight out of bounds and kills me then promplty goes back into action. I got so ****ed I yelled in chat and I'm pretty sure the guy got kicked.

please for the love of bf2 dont use the "Why ? Simple: I do more for the team by myself than if I was hindered by another player" exuse for helping the team win,so you telling us that u in a solo chopper would still win it for the TEAM despite every one on the ground capping flags.

what part of team dont you understand.

playing for the team would consist of you letting others have a chance in the gunner seat.

more like you dont wont youre k/d ratio lowerd by an unskilled gunner!!!
that's the truth at the end of the day.

                          reason ppl go solo

1.to get all the kills for themselves
2.not to get a kill assist and let the other gunner have a kill.
3.to maximize there time in the chopper
4.to pretend there doing it for the team
5.when in fact it all for there selfish selves

note there maybe a few rare times when no one is around to get in the gunner seat,
but to label every other bf2 player as usless is very bold and way of the mark.

so you no everyplayer by name and skill in the gunner seat??
                          i think not.

i wont change my mind on the matter
solo chopper ING on a basis no one is good enough is rediculus!!!!

share the other seat that what its there for.

EA should make it that it takes 5 seconds to switch seats from pilot to gunner this might help the pilot think twice or there would be a chance the chopper would crash, thus eliminating the solo l337 player

p.s maybe more than 5 seconds who nows!!

I joined a 32 player Dalian tonight, we had 3 choppers in the air, one was stolen off the US. Anyway two guys had 2 of our WZ-10s solo. They wouldnt pick anyone up. It was one of the most frustrating things ever.

I dont mind people going solo if nobody wants to gun, but if people are asking for a lift and they refuse they should get the boot.
