There's the original bullet time sequence. Notice the bullet is grey/chrome and the after waves are slightly transparent.
I read up on this quite allot in one of my editing books.
One little sentence: Bullet time is all about smoothness, where the recording equipment must be able to capture at a very high frame rate, giving the editing process lots of frames to play around with (without making it a slide show.)
I was wondering, since bullet time happens over one shot, are you panning the camera so that you can follow the bullet as it flies?

I'll leave it to you to play around with particle effects of impact on the target but bare in mind, I would keep it rated M+ lol!
