If you seriously think that a good pilot won't kill anyone and have no fun after this patch, pm me your xfire, we ll play a few rounds together and i ll show you that is not true.

He's not lying... If you haven't tried the patch, you really can't talk. It is absurd.

I dont know about that. I can take down jets with AA. Not on a regular basis. And I agree that jets had always at any given moment the upper hand against AAs, except Essex. But people with practice at AAs, could down jets and choppers MORE often than those who prefered to jump in, shoot and jump off.

Show me a place on a map where you are not out in the open for a jet, especially in a vehicle? And capping flag is a part of teh game. When a flag is being capped you get instant jets bombning the area, and you had no AA to defend against it...

OK, so stay out of vehicals, stay away from flags, stay away from AA batteries, stay away from your squad...and your cool. Oh, and if possible take the tunnel, don't drive in the open, which is 95% of the map...Gotcha.

A good jet pilot never flies over the battlefield close to the ground looking for someone to kill. You are lucky there is a good fog (clouds maybe) factor in the game. So if you fly a few hundred feet above the ground, AA wont get a lock on you most of the time. What you need to do is to fly high, watch your minimap, make short divings where there is activity, and immediately pull up.

You know how they would dogfight 20 feet above the ground trying to shoot down the Mig bomber and expected to stay alive once AA had a lock on them? That was plain stupid.

Planes are supposed to fly high where the AA won't be able to detect them very easily.

No, Im not worrying about this. Great pilots will still rack scores. They will be just a LOT more cautios and a whole new atmosphere will be created. I just dont feel like its fair that a n00b AAer can take out a "pro" pilot with little to no effort.

Everyone has less than 10 hours doing anything in 1.2.

How can you claim to be a vetern pilot in a totally new enviroment?

Rather than complaining, go see what ya can do to stay alive in the sky. Come back with 100 hours of 1.2 experiance, then we can give ya yer credibility.

You gave me attitude first, son. You have zero rights to bitch about my attitude now.

Although capping a flag is a part of the game, many flags have bunkers right near them you can take cover in. Also. Most pilots will not kill that tank/APC with one shot.

Thats how I imagine things would be now. Planes being more depending on the ground forces and playing more of a support than offensive role. Which is definitely a CHANGE. In the end, its all going to be different. A part of me suspects games will get more interesting. Both for jets and for infantry because calling in a jet for support will mean something.

And Azriel, its not THAT bad. Personally, even though somewhat mastering precision bombing, I never got a 100 nor even 50% kill rate against a tank. A jet is not an all seeing all killing bad guy.

The airpower has been taken down like a flag getting capped by 8 guys. Anything that is shooting up at anything flying, mainly the AA and IGLA rape it. It switched from being TO MUCH aircontrol to TO MUCH ground control, but i for one think this is pretty good, they could of made it more balanced, like why take the 14 missiles from the choppers, 8 bearly last. Still good though, no need to quite, just adapt, the strong will survive the weak WILL die off, EVOLUTION (change).

I've ten hours using Iglas and Stingers, with 450 kills. Many of those are jets. It's not easy but it's possible. Using sams took a little skill and knowledge, now it seems Dice have pandered to the cry babies, making them point and shoot.
For those complaining that in real life Iglas/Stingers take down jets easily, they're wrong. Against slow moving helos and big aircraft, they're rather effective, but against fast jets they're very, very inaccurate. I'm looking forward to flying to see just how bad things seem to be. Hopefully those of us with 100s of hours of sim time will be able to cope OK.
