I'm glad we seem to have agreed that the rule is not unfair to anyone but rather benefits the community at large.

I think a link to this thread should be used as a cautionary tale for other vehicle whores.

I'd also like to join you in thanking Maranello for re-opening it. An unusual move (actually unprecedented in MG forums, I think) that I feel paid off for all and will serve to inform others in the future. :salute:

I am planning on making a document some sort that includes all valid points from credible server admins, BF2RS admins, and from community and i will make it sticky. And everytime someone posts a thread about the same thing, i will delete it. I am sure it will clean up a lot of forum space. Because this has been talked more than any presidential election. :)

Just coming from MG server. I have played around 20-25 minutes and i would like to share my experiences from a first person view.

After all these people from MG came here, talking very gently, nicely, and respectfully about their server and how everyone gets an equal chance in their server, and how they are a fair and mature community, i said to myself "you know what, maybe they are right, maybe you will like their server, just give it a try".

I went to their server, its full of course, 46/48 people in it. I m in the MEC team, the second i spawn, i got killed by an F-35B spawnraping our UCB. It was obvious that the this guy had been doing this for over 20 minutes because people in my team basically were doing nothing but complaining in the chat window. Also, i would like to say that, it wasn't the beginning of the round, it was almost the end of it, it was easy to tell since we were losing badly (had only 2 bases left other than UCB) and i looked at the scoreboard and the top scorers were over 100 points.

But again, i told myself, admin's job isn't easy, maybe he didn't notice, maybe he were in the bathroom, maybe afk (though he kept talking in chat). So i said, give it one more chance. The next round, i am in the MEC team again (how that happened? don't ask me, their swap team thing didn't work very well), i spawn, i run to the bomber, i take off. I make couple runs to the bases, then there is this fighter right on my tail, brought me down to 30-40% health, so i decided to land. Here is the funny thing.

He was on my tail and could shoot me down very easily as i started my decend to land. But he didn't. hr passed by me, so i landed, and i completely stopped in the middile of the runway. Then this guy made a turn, and took me and my pilot down with his guns.

then i started talking in the chat, but nobody replied of course, because 80% of my team is complaining about how the admin enforces the rules when MEC team attacks US carrier, but not the converse. I tried, i swear i tried to talk to the admin for 5 minutes, but no reply.

Then i saw the bomber in the runway, i run towards it with 2 people following me, we all died instantly, the same guy (with [DRC] clan tag) killed us with his guns (F-35B), the same guy again, and again, and again. He killed me, just in the runway, without even getting in the plane, 12 times in 15 minutes. He also killed other team members as well.

Now tell me MG admins or members whoever you are, what kind of treatment, equality, fairness, maturity is this? Is this how you give people "a chance to have fun?" I don't think so. I knew this was the case, and if you read my previous posts, i never touched to this topic. I was talking about something completely different (their rules), now that i "respect" their rules (though i disagree) i see they are definetly NOT enforcing their rules themselves. Actually, they do enforce them, just when its in their best interest i guess.

Or should I put it this way? The team that the admin is playing always gets to benefit from rules and gets a chance to "have fun", whereas the other team is left alone.

I don't really know what else to say. Everytime i try to think something positive about you guys, and your servers, and your admins, something happens.

By the way, the name of the admin was JADMIN_XXXX something i can't remember, there was someone else, but i couldn't catch his name.

One of the baseraping guys had [DRC] clan tag, one of them was (swe) ens or something, i can't remember. But they got 25-30 kills withing 3-4 minutes just by baseraping. whenever we told the admin about them, they made fun of us. They said we couldn't take off, we crashed into something, or they said he thought we were taking off (we weren't even in the plane!!! he wasn't even shooting the plane, he was shooting where the AA is!!!) which by the way, even if it was true, is still against their Rules of Engagement since the MG admin said here himself that people are not supposed to attack the jets or choppers before they actually took off.

You know what i will do? I will keep playing in their server not because i like it there, but because what they are doing is wrong and they are misrepresenting the facts in front of thousands of people, and until they do what they are supposed to do (that is they follow their rules and enforce them "equally") i won't leave their server. And everytime something like this happens, i will come here and post it in great detail.

Cant say I like it Maranello. If there are rules and admin is on the server the rules should be enforced. If that guy decides to laugh at the rules and keep baseraping he should be banned, but what I didnt like is the admin not doing anything.

Which will make you look like a sour loser just as colony. If I had witnessed it, reporting to MG staff would be in progress not slandering for my own personal satisfaction. But hey, its just me being objective.

Somehow, Maranello, I wouldn't expect you to post anything about us except negative. You seem to have developed a hate for MG, who knows why since you have only played there twice. Do what you will, makes no difference to me. Some will have good experiences, some will have bad. Sometimes there will be admins on, sometimes not. I don't plan to come here to refute your negative posts and I won't expect to see anything positive come from you.

JAdmin stands for Jr Admin, an admin in training. Having one admin on that particular server, let alone a Jr, is woefully insufficient. One of our requirements is that the admin must see the offense for themselves before kicking because they are responsible for what kicks/bans they make. They cannot kick on someone else's word of what is happening...otherwise colony would have been kicked long before he was. And they are allowed to take bathroom and smoke breaks so sometimes they actually won't be present even though their name is in game. If you think it would help, we could prohibit this. :P

In any case I thank you kindly that we were allowed to refute the garbage that colony has been spewing here. If you wish to get another opinion from a higher source than me, our host has also posted on our forum. You have an account there, feel free to go read it. Kinda surprised me since I didn't call him, wasn't going to bother him with such a small issue that, in any case, we had covered before. Colony isn't the first to make these claims and as long as we run Oman, he certainly won't be the last.

If you truly wish to make an objective opinion of the server, come into TeamSpeak when you come to play. I will personally welcome you.

Enforcing server rules in favor of the admin teams is STAT PAD and breaking the EULA of ranked server. This should be reported to www.bf2rankedservers.com So they can close this server and reset their stats. Don't worry moongamers I will enter and record with fraps. And upload the video.

Howdy folks:

Those of you who don't know us at MG please do not judge another community until such time as you have had the opportunity to come and find out first hand what we are all about. As Lin has already stated you are welcome to join us on TS and we will be glad to speak with you. This is an open invitation to all that are truly in search of the facts.

The Oman server has come a long way over the past month and still is a work in progress. Are we perfect?? No!! But we are attempting to create a server where all players can come and enjoy the game. Will it suit all players?? No!! Some will prefer to play elsewhere. But in the end everyone is welcome in our servers and will find that we do apply the rules equally regardless of whether they are players or Admins. No one receives special treatment on our servers and anyone regardless of status caught breaking the rules will be dealt with.

I do want to thank Colony for taking the time to publicly putting our name out in front of an untold number of players. We could have never done what he has done in advertising in such a short period of time. In fact, Colony was in our server earlier and played several rounds and enjoyed flying his plane as well as using the other equipment in the game. He was not an issue and will never be treated in any other way but fairly as long as he maintains the mentality he demonstrated today.

Again, our doors are open to anyone interested.

I agree, which is why we require our admins to be split evenly between the teams.

Come on in, EA has been with us for a while now anyway. That comes with the territory of having top players in the servers.

Just coming from MG server. I have played around 20-25 minutes and i would like to share my experiences from a first person view.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It would have been even more helpful if you didn't have a memory failure as to the actual admin's name. As I have mentioned before, we have been admitting admins recently, and still are, because the server, obviously, needs more coverage. Junior Admins (which is what that tag means) have restricted duties and powers at first and are there mostly to learn.

Some of our Junior Admins will begin getting full admin soon because they are doing that well, others are not at that stage yet.

In any event, Teamspeak is your friend if the admin is on and not AFK chances are he'll be on TS.

One thing is certain. You are a bit quick to pounce and criticize. I'll never know how you got to be a moderator in a forum with such an inflamattory attitude, but one thing is for sure you obviously never had to staff a server from the ground up and get rid of a whole population of smacktards that make it their home as soon as an admin turns his back. BTW, I haven't been adminning the past couple of days because of this whole mess that Colony created and because I've had to work late, but as soon as I'm on it'll be squeaky clean again.

Having said that. Don't bother to come here again and say something "well I was on and I got TKd three times and the admin did nothing" because we haven't perfected the mind control techniques yet and cannot prevent anyone from acting like a smacktard. Also, we will not take anyone's word for what happened, rather we will always try to ghost and observe people who break the rules until we witness an event. Just FYI.

That's about the stupidest thing I've heard yet. How is he not working as a team? If he's not dying, he's obviously killing the enemy. And that's helping his team. Helping his team = teamplay.

This crying about whoring is getting old. There is no such thing as whoring. There are weapons in this game and they are meant to be used. Why does it matter if it's 1 guy killing all the enemy or 4 different guys? Killing is killing. I guess half way through the round the guy is just suppose to say "Hey I'm done helping my team, I'll just jump out and let some noob jump in the jet. Yeah that's a great idea, because now the enemy jets will have a chance because they won't have any real threats." Man that is a great idea.

In case you guys don't know, vehicles are supposed to be used in this game and they are there to help you win. If you don't want to play with tanks, jets, etc, go play MOHAA or COD. Obviously you guys aren't meant to play this game.

Games are ment to be fun. When you got some noob ass bitch whoring a plain, or anything else for that matter, people don't have fun. You can't just keep taking the planes or tanks and expect people to be happy.

Also, when people team kill others to get vehicles, that is extreme whoring.

That's sad. Just when I think you guys are top notch, you put out a comment like this.

He wasn't being negative. He was conducting an audit. The results of the audit were negative. You don't like the message so you kill the messenger.

I dont he's looking for perfection. There are idiots everywhere. You get some on your server, and he gets some here on this board. You both have challenges dealing with them. But just look at his language. He didn't come out the gate in attack mode. He went there with an open mind, albeit with a healthy amount of skepticism. He toured the joint, looking for instances of rounds of fairplay the MG admins claimed were possible due to their rules. He didn't find it.

I personally think no criticism is welcomed on MG. I would think you would want audit reports that maranello provided. He's giving you the ammunition you need to make your server a better place. Instead, you read it and summarily dismissed it as "well, you just dont like us".

I appreciate that Boojie, but this was what I was responding to. This, and the fact that he took one line from another player to highlight in an earlier post...a player who was not an admin, not a regular, and whom I had not seen on the server before. A player who then spewed several lines of "C*NT" before finally, thankfully, leaving. There was apparently no admin on at the time because of what I witnessed in the logs...and yet, Maranello brought that example here and posted it as an example of what we don't allow? Please! That, and the paragraph quoted above tell me that he is not coming to objectively review what we have.

Well lets see, the only threat some in a jet faces is another jet, and tanks, if they are on a non-airpower map, really are only threatened by C4 or 2-3 AT guys working together.

So, if you are playing with a vehical that only say, 5-10% of your enemies stand a chance of surviving an encounter with, then you're an awesome player. Wow, no wonder you're so proud of yourself.:laugh:
