Listen, you've got 20 hours with the sniper-rifles, I've got 200. You've got 600 kills, I've got 9 000. Are you implying that I'm wrong? I just spend some time at FuShe Pass killing people who where lying down while I was looking at them from the side. All done with my M24 at 250 m, and I didn't have any trouble at all with "bulletdrop".

i dont believe in 'random' shots with the M24, the only time it misses is when I make a mistake.

Even if you don´t consider bullet drop you have a chance to hit your target, but the chance is much greater if you take bullet drop into account, as the area of the target inside your cone of fire is much larger.

*yawn* I can paint in paint (^^) too if that's what you want. I still believe in DICE's comment of "no bulletdrop, the engine doesn't support it" and that it is "random" (since i got no other word to explain it). Don't show me that bullshhit of some wannabe-coder who "found" the bulletdrop-string. I can make a game, and add a string of "ChangeThisValueToXXX.ergh" for some noobies to find later, it doesn't mean it's actually used in-game. I mean, DICE, DICE! commented it for gods sake. Until DICE says otherwise, it's not there.

I've got much more to learn, this is just nothing of it.

great guid may i say,i use the m95 purly for the punch it gives to any enemy and there is a defanatly bulit drop at great distance,i dont like the automatics myself, when aiming for a headshot side on i usaly aim for the players eye and most time get a headshot, ive also took out a few choppers this way my best was a triple kill heli with one shot(lucky)but i noticed bullit drop when aiming at a target so far away name tag didnt show i aimed a heads height higher and landed a headshot,i also notice when infantary see you they run after u alot, once i spoted a medic and took him out and i wanted his kit for a sec to revive me heath then 3 infantary chaces me in some long grass i used my sprint and ran away drop claymores whilts legging it and boom all three dead that was cool.me=sniper 4eva and m95 only :)

Well, if you don't believe in bullet drop, go to Wake Island, be USMC, go to the small island, and try to snipe people coming down either beach-head. Trust me, if you don't compensate for bullet drop, you won't find yourself hitting anything.

Doesn't matter what DICE says. What matters is what does and doesn't work.

Actually I read a quote saying the opposite of what you say they said. http://www.realityfriends.com/forum/...54a1f9af180f21

                4. Will the sniper scope have adjustable zoom? Will elevation and windage be modelled along with ballistics (bullet drop)?

A: Sniper rifles do not have adjustable zoom. Projectiles will drop over distance.

I haven't seen bullet drop manifest until the 300m mark.

I start noticing it around 250 meters. To get a headshot I have to raise the crosshairs slighly above the target's head.

                      Nice guide and good points.

One thing to add to the teamwork aspect.

You, as a sniper, can keep people from taking flags. It is VERY important to keep the spawns you have and if you have the ability to protect an already captured spawn do so.

For instance, I like to snipe by the backyard on Mashtuur. If I am close by and see someone going for the flag I immediately divert my attention to protect it. With a few well placed nades or a couple of shots on explodable media can keep it safe for awhile. Do not, however, give away your position if you don't have to. If they do take the spawn... now you have a target rich environment. :)

I am new so the Sniper kit. Any estimate on how far away someone can here my rifle? I know it's loud, but I am always scared to shoot when several people are around because I don't want them to here me. At Karkand it seems like I always here snipers from somewhere.

If you are all by your lonesome it can be hard to keep a squad from taking an objective. I usually either try to wait until a teammate distracts them (hard to tell where shot came from when someone closer is shooting at them), or until one of the squadmates is stationary enough (and looking other way) that I know I can get a headshot...You can usually get away with a couple of potshots, but I wouldn't recommend more than that if the squad is undistracted, otherwise they'll be able to hone in on where you are...

Just slip in behind them when they leave the flag and take it back...

There is a bullet drop. Have someone standing on one side of wake island shooting at someone at the other side (with the water in between) and you will notice you hit more often if you aim a bit higher than you would if you were up close.
This is most easily seen if the victim is laying down and you aim about 0.5 meters above them (with the m24 of course)

Compensating for bullet drop is something you have to do above 350 meters or so and since you dont wanna be that far away anyway to get many kills it doesnt have much practical use.

On maps like karkand where theres alot of fog you never have to compensate for bullet drop since you cant see the enemy that far anyway so for scores you dont have to know this.

Worthless knowledge i know but its still there alright.

edit. changed the compensation range form 300 to 350 meters.

Within visual range is a good estimation (not using any zoom-function). Depends on the rifle, the M95 is really loud, the SVD is "medium" and the M24 is really low. You can hear the M95 from around 100m I guess, and the others below that.
