Bullet drop is just something you learn to judge. Trying to manage it mathematically just don't work, so I don't reccomend trying.
This sorta method as a way of getting the hang of things might help, I suppose, but you'd still be better off practicing in-game.

Well that short-list I sometimes throw in there doesnt work when you are shooting, its more intended to be used as a reference before you shoot or after you shot your target.
It does help in getting the same shot out over 150+ meters imo. At least for me it has. But like you said FlyingEgg its practice in the map which will make it second nature as to guesstimate which elevation you will have to use to get the medium and longer distance shots in on target.

Edit: Egg, you should do some more spots, or even make a video. That would be awesome. :)

You sure M24 and L96 do same damage to non-armor as M95?

The L96, is a very good sniper rifle, i can tell some difference since v1.3 patch (i.e. it doesnt settle AS QUICKLY, but it still settles in a reasonable amount of time) but, i saw people were asking about 'bullet drop'?? yea.. the L96 starts to drop @ about 150 meters (noticible difference) ((if you play @ sharqi a lot, then thats from the construction post to the TV station))

And extremepilot, the only difference between the m95 and the l96 is that the l96 cant shoot thru cockpits or windsheilds. The m24 leaves everybody w/ about 5 bars of health i thought because it takes me longer w/ the pistol...you just have to experiment really

The M24 and L96 are slightly more accurate than the M95.
The M95 can shoot through armoured glass, whereas the other cannot.
The M24 and L96 will take light infantry down to 2 bars of health, and heavy to around 5 or 6. The M95 takes any kind down to 2 bars.
The M95 has fat crosshairs. FAT crosshairs.

Keep motioning for a sticky, people... it'll get noticed.

The M24 and L96 are slightly more accurate than the M95.

Technically speaking, the M24/L96 is twice as accurate as the M95, as it has half the deviation value, 0.05 vs 0.1. Iit would be fair to say that the spread or cone of fire with the M24/L96 would be far superior to the M95 at longer ranges, say hypothetically 5 inches of deviation instead of 10 inches.

I find headshotting at medium to long range to be much easier with the M24/L96 than the M95, partly due to the thinner crosshairs, but I'm sure the lower deviation figures help as well.

The only time when becomes useful is for badly damaged vehicles/choppers (or jets if you have uber aim!) that are on fire or at least smoking heavily.

I think it takes like 2 clips from an M95 to down a full health chopper.

Yes as said above Aiming at longer distances w/ bullet drop takes skill. I can easily take a guy out over a long distance but it didn't come over night. It was a skill I learned over time while working on my Expert Sniper kit. I have always loved playing as sniper but I have played that kit non-stop lately in order to get that Expert Badge (which I will have in 4+ hrs). I love nothing more then a sniper war. It is fun to own the same sniper over and over and he keeps trying to snipe you.

Just keep playing as sniper and it will all come in time. You will have the skill we all have if you keep at it.

At the risk of seeing my prime Kubra spot flooded with snipers everytime I'll disclose it.Forget the mountains and the dam key to sniping here is getting the fullest coverage possible.Consider under the bridge on the gangway as a starter point regardless of whether you're MEC or USMC.After that the best spot for covering yourself and as many flags as possible is in the bushes and long grass in the centre of the valley you get full coverage of all flags north of the dam while keeping well hidden and the advantage of everyone expecting the shots to be coming from the mountains.I usually end up with 20+ kills per round and only the odd death if i'm unlucky enough to have someone stumble on my position or get hit by a stray missle.90% of the time you'll be kept busy sniping and spotting these contested flags if the fight does push south to the dam flags and airfield then use the valley and the tunnels to set up in the low lying bushes south of the dam.If your advance isn't 100% safe use the cover of advancing armour and APC's as a distraction and you should see yourself to 20+ points easily.Hope it works for you as much as it has for me
