Pfff, AK-47 is miles better than that pretty F2000.

True. But then again, all of the Chinese weapons are superior.

The only reason why someone may unlock the mp7 is if he does not like the shotguns in general. Also notice that the mp5 (which sux!) has a higher fire power because of the higher fire rate. Since I have enough experience with the mp5 and since the mp7 has less fire power than the mp5 then i think it is very safe to say that the mp7 is not a better alternative to the engineer's unlock shotgun.
hmmm not sure what it was, but I had the mp7 while fixing some assets... I must have taken out about 5 specop guys while doing this.

The gun felt WAY more accurate than the mp5 (play a bunch as AT) or powerful. I quickly took out those specops, with the mp5 it usually is a hit and dodge game due to lack of power.

Like I and others have said... I think these unlocks may look the same on paper but certain weapons with just be better for the individual depending on their game play. I for one will be using the mp7 if I am engie on a fairly open map, jackhammer on a more closed map.

Would somebody mind adding the SCAR-H stats to the chart for grins? I know it's not unlockable, but I want to know if it's better than the G3 or not (on paper). Or if somebody could point me to the file the info is located in, I will look it up myself. Thanks for the weapons chart, Black_Duck_1! I wish I'd seen that before I blew my first couple of SF unlocks.

You are probably right, shotguns are great up close... I was able to do well in what I would call medium range, in auto mode.

It was a small sample of usage and I could have been lucky or they could have sucked but they went down quick... just an impression.

I still think that more options are better, some may just do well with the mp7 etc... just because how it works WITH their gameplay.

Heck maybe I always aim low and the mp7 has just the right amount of recoil where I hit their head each time with the second shot...

The G36C is the best weapon, in my opinion, in all of BF2 - vannilla and SF. I even can kill snipers with it at long distances while they're trying to shoot me, it's good in all types of situation, it's never let me down. The only time that it is totally useless is in close combat with someone carrying the DAO-12.
The iron sights don't bother me at all...

Also thank you for digging up the stats, Black_Duck_1. Much appreciated. :)

How can you hit anything beyond medium distance? The sights are so large that people disappear behind them.

I think it's a great weapon up close and up to medium distance, but then it's almost useless because you can't see what you're shooting at. If there's a way around this let me know.

MP7 is nowhere near as **** as the MP5. It snipes very well not as good as G36C but its about the same as an AK-101, and I allways seem to kill with around 8 shots on full auto. Its how the DAO-12 is for anti tank, its a must have, depending on the situation it will be perfect.

Its by far the most usefull new unlock.

Well, when we say long range we do not really mean exactly like a sniper's rifle. If you set your view distance to the max then almost anything that you can say have a chance of being killed by the G36C as long as the target is no moving much.

8 rounds for a kill? is not that a lot? maybe you are right it is very useful on long range (did not try it though) but it is the weapon that takes the longest time to kill a healthy target. does not that bother you? so if you face a guy with a G3 or any assault rifle you are dead unless he is already on the verge of death.

At the end it depends on your style of game play. if you like to shoot the people for a distance then you may like sniping with it like what you do with the Ak-101 (does anyone really use the Ak-101 for sniping people from a distance? very few I guess!) but if you like to shoot the people in their face then it is one shot using the shotgun.

When I play engineer I use the pistol for long range shots. the problem is that the pistol takes two head shots to kill (damn you DICE! :) how realistic is that!)

YOU my friend are high. We'll play duel from anywhere over 20 feet apart from each other. You can have you're M7. I'll use a PKM, G36C, M4, SCAR, - you know what, I'll use anything, including my knife. We'll see who dies. Oh, maybe I didn't understand what you menat by "up close." did you mean like, f**k me up close? cuz in that case I'll just drive over you with my forklift. MP7 - please dog.

G36C is still one of the top weapons, right up there with PKM. But I think you misunderstood. Not "up close to medium." Rather "medium to long-range." In the short(close) range G36C is good, second only to shotguns, because of high rate of fire, small recoil, short-barrel. But it is not it's strength.

Switch G36C to single fire. I can't give you meters, since i never pay attention to that, but i'd say up to 150m. We're talking sniper range, especially for SVD or that Chinese thing. But both those guns have a HUGE recoil. g36c at distance can smoke dudes.Try a shot every half second. Pop. Pop. Pop. you will hit three times and get a 3-shot kill. No problem. Mid-range it is much morfe accurate than g3 yet less powerful due to calibre. short-range, I'd probably want to have the G3 it weren't for the fact that by now in the enemy's charge, you're empty with those 20-round clips.

Re: BF:SF Unlocks details. Comparison with the other BF2 weapons.

if you try to be conservative with the G3's ammo then it will be so powerfull even against a full squad. And I really mean it! actually if you are conservative also with the DAO's and the MK3A1's ammo you can kill a complete squad.

One of the most enjoyable kills I had few days ago was attacking three guys who were capturing a flag. (I did not bunny hop!) I was not that conservative with the ammo so I killed two and the third one got probably two shots and was about to die. I pulled the pistol and he needed only one shot. That G3 feels soooo good but I am trying to convince myself not to fire more than five rounds on each guy because it is a waste of ammo/time.

You can easily kill three or four guys at once with the MK3A1... just make it one shot in the face... remeber! only one shot in the face! do not keep clicking! even if that one shot is not in the face then place it very well in the middle of the body and that is it! do not spray and pray! this is very risky with ALL weapons. Actually it is the desperate's move (we all do it from time to time anyway, but try not to do it)

I once killed five guys with the DAO/knife. complete squad was capturing a flag. killed them all with the help of the knife. It is one of those kills that you have just every once in a while.

Can you do that with the MP7? NO WAY! no matter how good you are!

Can you kill two guys at once in a close range action with the MP7? NO WAY!

The only way to kill with the MP5/MP7 in close range combats is to attack the guy from the back! by the time he figures out where you are shooting from he will be dead. That is how I get killed with those weapons anyway (unless you get a lucky shot in the head).
