Re: Take the no punish oath!

there should be a HUGE message saying
Jesus forgave you your stupid teamkill.
Return the favor when someone frags you.

I punish only intentional TKs and whenever I get nuked or driven over with no enemy in sight. If there is no enemy around then you should look around before backing up.

... Oh, AND I punish every pilot, because either its a bad pilot - then he shouldnt be flying anyways - or its a good pilot - then he whore enough points anyways.

I TK punish when I space and hit pageup too late. The other times I've hit pagedown by mistake.

Re: Take the no punish oath!

One other thing. Don't punish pilots, because u decided to run into a base with 10 enemies in it, thinking you will somehow magically kill them all and capture it all by yourself. The single most annoying thing is when you bomb a base, killing 5 or more enemies and one lone friendly that u didn't see, and then getting punished for it. Respect the airpower; most of the time, control of the sky is what wins the map.

You all say your going to take this oath but you will be back to your old punish ways with in the hour.

Re: Take the no punish oath!

I think I have only punished a few times since I started playing, for stupid things, like a guy who wanted me to get out of his chopper so killed us both instead. A couple of times by accident too, when I first started playing page down was just as easy to press by mistake as page up! Always apologised for punishing and explain I didn't mean to though.

My policy is, most times - Do not punish
If there is some doubt that it was very stupid or intentional of the killer then I will wait for a "Sorry man". If I get one, then forgive.
If it's blatant or ridiculously stupid or reckless then punish.

I've noticed in the last couple of weeks punishing is a lot less frequent, maybe admins are turning it off more, or maybe people are just "maturing" as they play the game.

Re: Take the no punish oath!

I think taking an oath is a little too much Anybody with an ounce of intelligence can usually identify when something was an accident/screw-up. People are imperfect, so it's bound to happen and "punishing" them, is just playground-crap.

However, blatant team-killing deserves punishment. Last night on Wake Island, I drove up behind a "team mate" (I use the term loosely), he turned around on the back of the buggys machine gun, looked at me for a bit and filled me full of nice holes.

                      That, deserves punishing.

                      Accidents don't.

I always forgive and will always forgive. I did that since the very first days of BF2. We are a team not enemies. every now and then you run into an a kid who punishes for everything and anything! but that does not bother me anymore. alot of kids play this game and this is a fact!

and BTW, I notice that most people forgive most of the time. I think the forgivers are more than the punishers.

Re: Take the no punish oath!

I get irate when someone doesn't have the sense to realise it was an accident and punishes automatically.

If they took stock of things then they can see it was an accident.

I mean, I was playing this morning and a guy ran in front of me while I was in a tank and he punished.

My Teamwork score was at 18

I mean he can see I'm not doing it on purpose by seeing that I'm team orientated.

I pointed it out to him and he was like... 'Uh yeah'

Í've already mentioned this, but if your in a damn tank, then its your responsiblity to watch out for people running in front of you, its not their fault, they can't see you, you don't own the damn roads....

If I ever take a tank, whenever I'm around people I'm very careful about trying not to run over people. Most people are not, they simply think they own the roads and everyone should get out of their way.

As for mines, well thats a different story, you shouldn't punish for that.
