I have no problem with ramming. If it helps the team, do it, especially in clan matches. I prefer to bomb them when they are hovering over a flag. The jets' guns can take out the mini gunners, too. Firing missiles isnt hard. It's just that you should approach from a greater distance and slow down a little.
Blackhawk vs Jets: Ramming Ok?

blackhores - this is just so funny - if you have a problem with the blackhawks SHOT THEM DOWN. Its not hard to shoot them down and once your doing it regular they dont come back. If your in vehical with Heavy MG then defend the flag and fire your MG at them - aim for the occupants and pilots. They will die or leave simple.
Just stop your moaning and play as a team - its a lot easier. Most people cant take them out as they are on their own with a shottie or alike and no heavy weapons. Stay with your squad and you'll defend your flag.Comment

I despise ramming and never do it intentionally. If I ever accidentaly ram into a helicopter (enemy or not) when I fly I apologize because it is such a cheap and skilless tactic.
However, against a fully loaded blackhawk whoring team I do not mind. In fact, I encourage it. If they want to use a pretty lame and skilless tactic against the enemy, then by all that is fair I say use a pretty lame and skilless tactic against them.Comment

What is the issue with this - i dont actually see the point??? Its a chopper designed to carry troops? You can defend the flag by shooting it down?? Unless your lone wolf all the time what is issue? Its easy to shoot them down and their occupants?
PS:Back on subject if a plane keeps ramming a chopper in game and a player complains to me and i see it i would act the same way by kicking the player involved.Comment

If jet ramming is cheap then bhwhoring is lamer ****.
In mashtuur i sometimes try to ram the mi-17 to the bh, why?? Because the bh has much more advantage and THATS NOT FAIR.
try putting 6 ppl working in a mi-17 and 6 ppl in a BH... now compare.. which one is more maneurable?? which one has more fire power?? Which one has more armour??
enough said.Comment

it's no trouble killing a blackhawk with the planes maching gun at all, seems abit wastefull on both the bh pilot and plane pilot to just ram it, to ram it you have to have your planes nose facing it anyway so why not shoot it instead?
i was having a quick whore up in the BH a moment ago and guess what?
three people actually used their heads and all fired an eryx each, want to know what happend? we died very quickly
teamwork = no more blackhawk
simple really.Comment

no problems with ramming, those copters are tough stuff, with a well organised BH squad they can wreck havoc over an entire map, so take them out and take them out quick. But it's not the BH I have a problem with it's those attack copters that make mince meat of armoured vehicles that bugs me.
could a couple of PKM's do much damage to those attack copters?Comment

By your own logic, run-over kills are perfectly fine then. I'm sure it happens plenty in real war. Bunny hopping is surely lame though, as well as that jumping and instantly going to prone bs.Originally posted by VariableI think its a lame tactic. Right up there with bhopping, and run-over kills.
In a sense us peeps create our own gaming environment. As much cheesy arcade action there is in BF2, I like to think of this game as quasi-realistic. When I play I try to use real tactics from the real world. Ramming is just silly because its never used in any real armed conflict.
Ramming jets in to BHs I'm sure happens a lot by mistake when a pilot, in his determination to nail the helo gets a bit carried away and leaves himself no time to avoid colliding with the helo. It's obviously often deliberate too though, and it bothers me for the same reason it does you. Kamikaze attacks are so 1940's.
There is some balancing to be done for sure, but if the BH was less robust than it is, it would be sliced up in short order, providing it doesn't have the usual whore loadout of a bunch of engineers. Maybe what they need to do is limit the amount of damage which is repairable. Say only 50% of any damage can be repaired. That means the engineers will be fighting a losing battle, all they are doing is prolonging the life of the helo, rather than bringing it back almost from the dead time after time.Comment

In a plane, it is way too easy to take down a BH, so there is no need to waste a perfectly good airplane on a fully loaded BH, just slow down and rip them apart with your cannons.
I have used ramming as a tactic though, for me it comes down to the team. Mat City is a prime example (and the only map i have used this a tactic on) A full BH with engineers will absolutly rape the MEC team if they are even decently good. I noticed this, being MEC myself, that on the first round of the map we lost 180 to 0 (few minute round not fun.)
So, in an effort to take away that team advantage and give my team the win, I used the MEC copter (which was never used) and took it on a nonstop ramming mission to the BH to take out that mobile advantage. I also notified the other team that I wasn't going to stand by and let the rape continue.
Being the not to shabby pilot that I am, I rammed the full blackhawk a total of 5 times for the round, and virtually left the other team with 6 inoperative players, and a chance to take the victory. We did.
The other team applauded my tactic, knowing they also had to take me down with the miniguns before i Rammed them, it worked once.
The point of this?
My team didn't have the teamwork ablility, nor the mental capacity to fire an AT weapon at the BH's (they were too busy trying to assult one another with nadelauncher in usual bunny fashion)
I took it upon my self to take the BH down with the only tactic available to me, and the result
Victory
In war, this is all that counts.Comment
I find reall easy to take down a BH.
