I have respected your opinion and tried to argue mine but when you start name calling and insulting because I dont see it your way, then what do you expect.

as you have read from the post from DICE and EA.. many things in the game that were not meant to be has happened... I bet you yourself has played on a 64 man FoB.. if so then you must admit to yourself thst you are guilty for being an exploiter as FoB was not meant to be played on a 64 man server..

I think this thread needs to be put to bed so I will let you have your reply and I wont add to it.. I understand your position on the roof camping and accept it.. you should do the same..

Hmmm, this seems to have turned into the anti-nemesis thread.

So, maybe to be the first, I have to say I agree with nemesis for the most part. What I don't agree with, really isn't about agreeing, it's about interpretation. When someone says exploit, I tend to think wallhacking, aimbot, the "everyone appears in neon colors even through walls so i know where everyone is at all times" hack, etc.
I'm not saying roof camping isn't an exploit, just that I put it more on par with ramming. To me it's definitely the lesser of two evils. I'll take a squad of roof campers over wallhackers, aimboters, etc. anyday.

I have no real strong opinion on it one way or the other. If EA/Dice keep it, I'll just "adapt" and move on. If they get rid of it, I won't shed a tear for the people who claim their best "tactic" was removed.

To me, personally, it's a lame tactic. But if you do it over a CP, just remember, we'll eventually leave you that CP. Then while you sit on the roof doing absolutely nothing, we'll take all the other CPs. Leaving you with that one CP, and a very severe ticket bleed. So go ahead, find your roof, and stay there.
      Enemy roof campers FTW :yay:

On a side, OT, note for nemesis............
Those three videos you have in your sig.....Rainbow Six, Raven Shield, right?
Wow, I think I just might break that CD out and reinstall it. That game was loads of fun.
      Thanks for reminding me.

I never said it was you, not everything is about you.

Your posts are redundant, you obviously don't read mine, you're obviously blinded by your own self-importance.

I refuse to argue further. I've said everything I need to and more. You just dont seem willing to listen.

        Yeah it's Raven Shield :)

It's still got a decent online following, you can get some good Coop or Versus action on it.

Thanks again. I'm definitely going to give it a whirl again. I think it would be great if someone adapted those maps to BF2/BF2142. Although thinking about it, they would probably be nade heaven .

And just so you know, I wasn't being argumentative about exploits. I just have a slightly different approach to it. Either way, I'd say you're much more in the right than wrong. But like you said, it's just my opinion and anyone is free to do what they want.

and when someone calls you a cheat people think you are one of those aimbot, wall hack user. I think it was harsh calling people cheats who have been on the roofs..

Yeah i suggested some Rainbow Six-esque maps in a thread a while ago, i personally think it's what BF in general is lacking. You're right about the nades though, Raven Shield Deathmatch is pretty much that way at the minute. Rounds consist mostly of throwing all your grenades at the enemy spawn points.

Also, I know you werent being argumentative. :)

I can fully respect someone's opinion when it's objective and not just a load of crap to have a dig at someone, or to make excuses for what is in my opinion, exploiting.

Playing as Commander each time, I won every game I played between 9am and 12pm today on a server which allows roof-camping. At no point did I find that roof-campers threatened my winning streak.
                  AHAHAH, nobody could counter this.

assault needs jet packs, im dead serious actually. anyhow go ahead and camp the roof. objective is key, and no roofs are objectives. like you said arty/exc. i dont really like how spawn beacons work honestly. id rather just pop up at the beacon. its an issue of continuity. why do beacons spawn pods, but apcs/squad leaders/dropships/flags/silos dont.

mm that is a very interesting idea a super spawn beacon ;players dont pod in they just generate at the beacon for a more stealthy entrance

Those things are all third-party software that affect your performance in-game; they're hacks. Exploits are things that are already in the game's coding, being used in a way they weren't meant to in order to secure an unfair advantage. Like getting inside of building models. I'll admit that roofing isn't anywhere near as bad, but I still think it's an exploit.

i think they should do away with pod movement altogether tbh. i only do it because i often cannot beat those who do, some maps are much more prone to abuse from roof camping and require an equal counter-measure. that said, some of my best knifings have come from those hiding on a roof, #1 park user comes to mind

the problem is only dedicated, co-operative squads can counter the majority or roof camps, which simply isnt always the case, while there are sniper posiotions to get them on some parts of camp G, a huge amount are immune to sniper harassment. and of course theres the fact that trying to counter this takes time, time which would be better spent killing the enemy.

is it a deadly ZOMGWTFHAX exploit that automatically makes one team win? no, but it can cause a great deal of grief and work for the other team, and does yield advantages to one side or party. a dedicated group of 6 people with a SLSB on top of a roof is insanely difficult to deal with by a group of lone wolves, and to a squad its still an annoying chore.

Getting onto roof tops is fun. Like others have said it adds an extra dimention of gameplay.

I would be dissappointed if it was removed from the game.

Also it is not an exploit as the pods are meant to have a degree of control.

yes, but only if server allows it. all i can say is that i really dont like it myself but if someone is going to do it to me i'll just pod spin to his roof and knife him. plus i've sat on a roof before and just nade spammed, i got 12 kills really quick, then they figured us out and i died 9 times with only 1 more kill so its really not worth it
