Modern Warfare 2 Has Already Broken Sales Records

November 10 (or November 13, depending on which platform you're buying the game on) marks the release date of Modern Warfare 2. Despite petitions and boycotts it seems as though the game has already broken multiple sales records.
"By all indicators, we anticipate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time," says Tony Bartel, executive vice president for merchandising and marketing at GameStop. "As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we've taken for the game is the highest for any title we've ever sold in our 6,200 store network."

Quite obviously, those sales are not coming courtesy of the PC version as seen in the sales breakdown of Modern Warfare 2 at Amazon.

Show of hands, who here is actually surprised? Nobody? I thought not.

Those numbers are exclusive to gamestop, but most likely are indicative of the physical sales market. The publishers market.

Digital distribution might be a very big reason why those pc numbers are low.

Maybe the PCers and PS3ers aren't as easily fooled into getting it. That's right, I threw the glove down. x.x

If that's what failing is, may my wallet be full of failure.
