The Point Of Cheating?

Ive never faced a hacker before, but I have come across players who are just that good. I dont actually care if Im getting beat by a hacker or by an honest player, being owned is being owned is being owned. What annoys me about hackers, is that they are the reason for PB and the reason they make money to do nothing at all except screw up my BF2.

I dont think I really made a whole lot of sense up there, so here it is in simple terms: I dont care who kills me or by what means, what pisses me off is trying to log into a server and having PB tell me it had a heart-attack.

Chris, so murder is ok as long as they dont get caught it is the systems fault? a little extreme medaphor but my point is there is rules in life, rules in games that are ment not to be broke, & just because some get away with it doesnt mean that its ok or its "a system fault" so its really point at the system for allowing holes for the rule breakers to come through.
but face it, its life, ya not going to get rid of cheaters, PB cant even do it, not completely anyway.

and what wsa that "a success IRL becaue they cheat and are looked up too?" or somethign like that.... that is bullshat. you got alot of learning to do. thats not success that is cut throat at others expense, thats watercooler backstabbing , a complete breakdown in moral's, as is cheating at a game.

People would throw a fit if the NFL had cheaters that were "allowed" or baseball or any other favorite "game" , so why this measily little computer game its not big deal? it cheats honest people out of there time sitting tryn to have a good time and cant figure out what they do wrong not knowing that someone is owningthem with aimbot or what ever hack.

It seems alot of people like to think cheaters as some emotionally scared little prick who has nothing better to do. Its out of anger not reasoning.

The first mutliplayer game I ever played was Call of Duty 1 and I cheated like alot of other new comers. But guess what? After a few months I gave it up simply because I discovered that it wasn't very fair and it was far more authentic when you play without them. I didn't see the point of cheating.

Hacking isn't reserved to a minority group of people who are easy to hate, their regular players who have yet to come across a moment of sympathy for the fellow gamer. And in a online world where people regularly insult and cuss each other, its hard to find that sort of empathy.

I know where youre coming from, but Ive never said cheating is "OK", Ive never said its "good". I agree, cheating is bad, and an unfair advantage is an unfair advantage. I am not justifying cheating since it cant be justified. But I fail to see how calling a cheater a "homosexual bastard" in light terms, is anything more than a blatant insult?

People who cheat are most probably just everyday Joes, they dont sell crack, they dont bang your kids and they dont kill people, and if they do, they do it separately from their game. They cheat, because cheating is allowed, and the punishment for this "crime" is mild and the risks are acceptable. I mean, if the punishment is so mild, that you can risk with yout gaming rig and your CD, then you know its the system that is at fault, not the people.

If your CD key would ban your all PB supported games CD keys upon hacking, no matter which hack used, would you think people would actually think twice before risking throwing their every game into the garbage bin?

Im sorry, but every success story I know of around me, involves a lot of backstabbing, selling out, throatcutting and buttraping. I dont have to do a lot of learning, Ive seen it ever since I was in kindergarten, and I see it today in both corporate world, aswell as in college. The most successful people become rich and famous either by exploiting others, or being exploited by others. A honest man with a strong sense of right and wrong, aswell as justice, lives a modest life.

I had a very interesting conversation about a few months ago, with a person who played baseball on professional level in USA. We started talking on PM and the discussion started from a similar topic as this. I was shocked at what he had to say. The outcome was that when I asked ironically "So much for clean sports, huh?" he responded "Bro, it has never been clean.".

If you follow major sports headlines today, youd see how many top athletes have been busted around the globe.

Oh dont worry. Ive had my throat being cut, my *** being sold out and my back being stabbed plenty enough. As such, Ive become smart enough. My brother used a hack-pack in CS1.6 once, Id take him any day over you. Its not ones decisions that make one rotten, its the stakes at which the decisions are made.

I guess I'll try to sum this up for you all. I'll clear up a few things about me first:

1. I have never hacked in any game.

2. I do not supoprt hacking in anyway.

Now, onto my summary. There are many different kinds of people in this world, as everyone here obviously knows. Nobody can really consider whats right or wrong in this situation. I'm not going to sit here and say what I think about hackers, because my words will just bounce right off of them. People have the ability to interpret things in their own unique way, by that I mean, a person could think hacking is the way of life, that your existence is based upon Darwin's theory of the survival of the fittest. That is a person's innate behavior, and it is only human for some to consider that hacking is the best way to conquer your enemy's. And then of course, we have the people who hack just to get a kick out of it. The people who pay for their servers and get screwed over by these hackers really can't do much obviously, and theres nothing here that any of us can say here to help that. Point being, we can throw around insults and prove our own points as much as we want (not saying its a bad thing, it's only a normal aptitude of the brain), but in the end, it all comes down to what you think is right.
