    Please reread.

You can camp the airfield on vBF2 maps from any possible location, the air strips lack adequate protection (see Crysis main base defenses for reference) and landing constitutes as certain death. In BF2, vanilla maps, it just wont work.

I think that it is a little bit selfish just to go solo in a chopper, because it is easier to get kills as the gunner, if the pilot helps him, but just to "steal" the chopper and use it for your self is not helping the team that much.

its hard enough slowing down to rearm with teamates shooting m95's and sraws at you to rearm.

It would work on Fushe, Dalian, Kubra, Tampa, Dragon and Daqing. You would only have problems on Oman and Wake.

But i kinda agree, main bases should be more protected. Like in PR for instance where enemys cant enter your airfield on Kashtan coz then they go out of bounds.

I don't see how you've come to that conclusion, care to expand?

As far as I can see you'll have problems on all maps, with the possible exceptions of FuShe and Daqing.

I was joking. I was the one who derailed it to begin with.

Chris, all those suggestions are good. Two i'd suggest is allow one of the AT unlocks to be a MANPAD. While a single Stinger isn't enough, a squad of them would put some hurt on the pilots. There is a reason why planes don't make low level bomb runs or strafing runs IRL. The stinger or strela sites are too well known and suppressed before they are visual. The second is allow silent lock on by heat seeking missiles. Allow the pilot to get a launch warning if needed, but letting a fast mover know you are locking him up invites 30mm or 250lbs death.

Well on those maps the airfield is more seperated from the battlefield so it would be abit harder for ground troops to go that far out of their way. Plus they have hangers.

True, you would need custom maps where the airfields were, relatively, protected, but you can't have custom maps on ranked...sigh...

Im talking about viable solutions that can be coded in, in a matter of minutes. Youre talking about extensive change that would never happen (not that DICE knows how to fix balance either). :)

Oh I realise that. Those two are more of a "Man I wish they'd none it that way" suggestion than something they can do in the future.

I'll never understand why they give you static anti tank weapons, and player mobile anti tank missiles, but static AA weapons and no player mobile AA weapons.

Especially as they'd be more use against planes. On all the maps I can think of the planes out number the AA. Odd.

If there should be an AA kit it should be somehow limited, otherwise it would get spammy. Just like the AT kit at Jalalabad. When your standing outside outpost you often see 3+ missiles coming at you.

Less spammy than having 12 hydra missiles and a burst of 30mm? It isn't spammy if it does what it's meant to. Anti tank kits suppress tanks? Sounds good to me. Go somewhere else or don't take tanks. The planes and heli's will have the advantage of speed and non steerable missiles that are fooled by flares.

I'm also surprised, especially since he thought before he typed.
