Re: Is a soloer a teamplayer?

Much like in the other thread, everyone pretty much needs to agree to disagree. Sloi, and others, will not accede the point as much as those who say solo flying is not teamwork.

The only other point is, Sloi if disagree then fair enough, iterate your point without jumping into insults, but just because the guy doesn't agree with your take on teamwork doesn't mean he is without a brain as you insinuate.

    Learn some manners.
I refuse to acknowledge the anti-soloer's position, because it's incorrect. I've already addressed every one of their "arguments" in great detail either here or in another thread.

The only one with some merit, is that a moderate percentage of soloers teamkill to perform their function: sadly, it's sometimes (well, more often than not, actually) necessary. The great cosmic joke in all of this is, unless you've paid your dues in a heli, you won't recognize this as being true. Succinctly put, you need to be on the other side of the fence to truly appreciate the view...

Could I/we be more tactful? Yes, but you eventually grow tired of being completely misunderstood despite taking great care to expound precisely. At this point, I have no more patience for idiocy, and I'll call them as I see them.

For those who dont know, a soloer is a person who is flying a chopter without a gunner and is often Tking or redlining ppl in order to do so.

Chris is claiming that a soloer is killing tanks and chopters coz hes such a teamplayer and is trying to help his team, but i disargee and say that a soloer kills ppl coz its fun or to improve his kill-death ratio.

Exactly, however redlinein or tking at the start of a round is not teamwork.

yes, if you are a seasoned soloer, then this is not for you, but SOME times there may be a situation that arose where the 2nd person in your chopper doesn't know what the heck a TV missel is, or think that the trees will catch him, and in reference to :

This states that soloers are trying to Decrease the enemy's tickets, so a more productive way to acheive that goal is to Tk the 2nd person out of the chopper.

I am NOT saying that Tking for a chopper is in anyway ok, BUT if there is a situation in a server where the enemy chopper(s) are doing very well and keeping the tanks and APC's and troops back, and a good soloer comes in and can easially take out the enemy choppers, then he should do that, to BETTER THE WHOLE TEAM. So yes, i am saying it may be *ok* to Tk someone, but ONLY in a VERY Certain Situation.

Well most of the time this true, some players just spam the mg wildy or bail out so i would rather just let a good helo pilot go by himself and do the job, if you cant fly dont try

The communities view on the subject is already that a soloer is a TKer and a redliner, which is untrue. Redlining or teamkilling is necessary evil, at certain occasions where one lamb is sacrificed for the fun and wellbeing of others, the subjects´ at hand aswell of course. I dont think any chopper pilot lack the experience in having their team completely decimated by enemy air force seeing their air force occupied by sub par players while knowing that they can turn the tables. Ive seen that plenty. As a jet pilot, I have never used the M95 to get myself a plane, I parked a car or a tank in front of a commander whom I knew would crash it and get it again because of his ping advantage, Ive kept the selfishness on the runway to the upmost minimum as a jet pilot. However, Ive seen my team get raped knowing I could change it. Instead, lemmings get the air power and of course they dont utilise it.

I took a pretty strong stand against soloing or actually TKing and redlining, some of the soloers might even remember that. This argument is not new. I am not even a designated chopper pilot, Ive got limited hours in them, but being on the other side of the fense makes it clear that sometimes, its necessary evil.

There'd be no such thing as, "soloers," if the vast majority of players that spawned on the carrier deck didn't suck.

As always, haters using generalizations and making retarded assumptions concerning soloers. Typical.

Again, what makes you think your opinion is worth anything?

Just to add, you are a hypocritical piece of sh!t. You talk about teamwork and the apparent importance of being in a squad, yet you spent most of your playtime as lone wolf. You talk about soloers TK-ing the gunner (which is total BS) and you spend most of your playtime as sniper, M95'ing people out, as Chris pointed here:

Youve played 88 hours as a sniper, that is closer to 70, than 46. Thats Wake, a jet/chopper wh0res map. Needless to say youre not "usually" a medic and youre not "usually" a sniper. Youre MOSTLY a sniper and "sometimes" a medic. Usually, "just" a sniper would be sniping, but out of your total time, nearly 30% is spent airbourne, about 40% is spent as a sniper and your sniper

You have 3577 kills as a sniper and 3773 kills as a pilot. You have 1400+ kills as a medic. Im sorry, the conclusion Im drawing here is rather grim, dont you think?
Just for comparison, let's see here:

% Time playing as Lone Wolf:

                              Churrasco: 14.94%
                              Sloi: 31.03%
                              Waaah_wah: 50.02%

                              Team Kill per Kill:

                              Churrasco: 0.038
                              Sloi: 0.031
                              Waaah_wah: 0.062

                              Kicks per play hour:

                              Churrasco: 0.2597

                              Waaah_wah: 0.3731

And I thought I had a high TK and kick rate because of my "shoot first, ask later policy"... Seems like somebody here treats teammates even worse and get booted even more often... Tsk tsk. :shakehead:
