In my experience, there is no pilot out there that is able to help a team turn a heavily guarded flag in less than a minute, periord. A chopper can maintain constant presence, and take care of ANY threat, so that you can cap a *** even by yourself. A jet pilot can never do that.

Which is why a chopper is that much more of a pain in the *** if flying without contest.

If (for example) my squad is pinned down by a tank on say, Wake, then I see nothing wrong with spawning at the airfield, taking the flying cow and ramming the tank with it. Its just another tactic, perhaps borne of desperation, but if it helps my squad therefore my team then I don't see anything wrong with doing it. Same if it happens to me, its fair enough :)

Because ramming shows very little skill, and it changes what most of us play the game to prove, who is the real ace.

Yeah, we should be beaten up with a maul of doom, whatever the **** that is :)

Ramming takes no skill whatsoever. I mean, sure people said that about pre-1.2 bunny hopping. But that took a bit of skill. Ramming simply takes the coordination of a 4 year old to slam your jet into your target. Lame, skill less, and stupid.

I mean, you say ramming is fun and people who blame it are lame? What about hacking? What if I find it fun? Should we just remove PB since some people find hacking fun? Or glitching, should we not have the glitches in the game fixed since some people find it fun? Get over yourself, you suck hairy balls at jets and so you jihad yourself in an attempt to feel special. Thank god idiots like you get banned on most servers.

Your KDR with ramming is generally going to be around 2. You might get some lucky full Blackhawks, but you're almost always gonna be hitting an attack chopper, tank, or jet. That's not a particularly good KDR, in comparison to other KDRs.

After all, its the one who dies, who usually moans the most.

Ramming is cheap because its a one-shot-kill, they are all considered "cheap" by those who die. The ammount of hypocrisy in this thread is apalling though.
QFT - Chris's posts are yet again the most insightful around.

While I fly helo's more than most, I don't actually mind a ram so much. It means only a couple possibilities to me:

1- The jet pilot is lacking skill and making bad choices (n00bs are everywhere, what ya gunna do? this includes hitting debris or the earth after killing the heli. it's avoidable if you fly your jet right. )

2- The heli pilot is evasive enough that only a highspeed ram will succeed and the jet pilot had to consciously try to ram/try something desperate (i never mind being taken out in a way i can't prevent when the cost is, at Chris puts it: "a teamplayer's death")

The first situation usually garners a "noob" comment from me in some fashion. Heck, it's annoying when someone that makes 15 passes over about 2 minutes ends up ramming you due to lack of skill. I know I should be the better person and not just say anything, but I usually let it slip in some way to ensure the bastard knows it wasn't his immense skill that just took out the heli and he just got "unlucky" with the ram part of it.

The second situation usually garners some form of "well i guess that's the other way" type of comment. A simple recognition that I couldn't do anything about it, but alas it is what it is.

What gets to me most is when jet pilots say "sorry". This only seems to happen when they ram a heli out of lack of skill. Somehow the heli crew should be okay with dying because the jet pilot sucked? Sorry or not, the jet pilot is still a lamer.

My absolute favorite though is when the jet pilot tries to pin the fault on the heli pilot. If I can't scream noob then, when can I!?

Lets see. Bunnyhopping takes basically, mashing your SPACE key, skill.
Ramming takes the coordination of throttle, pitch, yaw and roll, which is a lot more than one key. If ramming is done intentionally, it takes skill. If ramming is done unintentionally, its an accident. I dont see a problem.

Besides, most of the situations with ramming, happen when chopper pilots pitch up, right into the jet coming from behind them, its a classic case.

EDIT: Curiously, I die to choppers when I fly the most. Darting the ground comes close second. Thing is, I go on until I pass the point of no return, I just go until the end. Either I just dont give a toss, or Im lazy. I can fly OK, but more often than not, I do touch the helo, and then we die. And I say sorry, because the crew deserves it. Its not a lame thing to do, its simply an accident caused by my wrong decisions.

that term is so beat... time for something new.
The thing is it don't help your team win. Most of time you RAM you got a crew with you of atleast one gunner. If its a plane all you do is take out one bad guy sometimes two. I mean if your on-fire going to die and you see a blackhawk full of people. Yeah I mean great ram the hell out of them, but if you just intentionally are ramming people. It is actually pretty lame.

I have to agree with Sloi and Hurricane on this one...it's skill less, pointless, and irritataing.

If your on fire, no ammo and you see a full blackhawk then go ahead but otherwise, use some skill and take them down properly, you'll get much more respect.

Get a life, and learn to spell. Ramming doesnt teach you anything except for being a noob. (Yeah, we have too many in BF2 community.)

That's why no one likes you because all you tihnk is about ramming other players who are actual gamers, what I mean by that they play the game for what it is, not using hacks, and all the BS. My advice to you, is to NOT mess with us and the BF2 community.
