Which is exactly why you should accept it as a choice, if they can choose. Which means, taking off without a gunner would be OK.

I still hate teamkilling though, and as said, so far every time Ive been taken OOB by a chopper pilot Ive taken it really hard on them.

Would that not be the most annoying multiplayer game ever to play on publics..?

Hmmm, actually it's exactly like having some gunner in the chopper...

You don't think such a multiplayer game would suck..?

My definition of multiplayer is not just an opportunity to legally kill digital representations of real humans.

Its multiplayer not vehicle whoring either solo or with a buddy. Everyone has an opportunity to be the operator and gunner. There is no “I” in multiplayer. Ok, there is in fact an “i” but it is only a small one. Does that fit you?

Well... It certainly didn't answer my question...

As for the I in multiplayer... it's a whole lot of I's...
That's why it's multiplayer...

If this does not directly answer your question, I don't believe I am capable of doing so.

Well, let me try. Yes, I would play a game with the depth of B2 if sometimes I controlled the movement and sometimes I controlled the viewing and firing. Not to get off topic, but the fact that B2 allows us to drive and fire the tank is completely unrealistic. It is a game function so peeps can play in a tank alone. And I would be holding the same position if this was a thread about people in tanks and APC were leaving others behind (which tardlings do as well).

i was playing wake yesterday and i wanted to get in the gunner position. but the guy was already in the air and kept teasing with me
when i got in he kept telling me to get out and doing all these flips with me in it. but this has happened to me before so i just stay in there but when he gets pissed he takes me out to the border o' the map and gets me killed
thank you

LOL, I did exactly this to a guy last night, with the exception of the redlining..I was on a small Wake server, and I let this guy gun twice, and he missed easy shots...sooo I told him to bail the f out, he did not, so I started rolling and stuff, and eventually, he got out, and I got my new kill streak :)

*EDIT* To all you people freaking out that two people are better than one, I would say 90 percent of my deaths in a chopper are when I take some unknown guy up in the gunner seat, and line him up for shots, and he misses...or just uses the gun. That does not help the team at all, its just a hindrance. It has gotten so bad that if an unknown guy gets in, I will ask him to get out, if he does not, I give him 2 shots, if he sucks, I ask him to bail, if he does not, I bail.

To all the good gunners out there, I will definetly give you a chance, but if you start missing like crazy, you should get out for the good of the team. I much prefer having a good gunner with me (Shlunky, I know you are out there somewhere :) ) but I cannot stand the bad ones anymore.

thank you

that crap happens to me except what theyll do is take advantage ofn the gunner being in the front, theyll hover at the edge of the battlefield so that im on the punish countdown but they are just barely still inside the non punish area and ill have 2 bail or die and they cant be ptkd 4 it because TECHNIACLLY i left the battle....gay

That is partially true. If you switch to the gunners seat you can be locked onto since patch 1.3. But the best kept solo'ers secret is all you have to do is switch back to the pilot seat again and it breaks the lock. Then you can switch back to the gunners seat again. Anytime you get locked onto all you have to do is switch seats and it will break the lock, it works both ways. I'm sure Sloi won't deny this but he probably doesn't want non-solo'ers to know this. Therefore it still can be exploited to break lock.

I certainly wouldn't want to see the heli not being able to fly or takeoff unless there is a pilot and gunner. That is pretty pointless. I wouldn't have any problem if you can't swap seats when its flying, but you could if it was on the ground. This would force them to pick up a copilot.

Why DICE didn't fix the redlining problem when they fixed the swap to gunners seat so you get locked onto I'll never know. I think you'll find they think its funny that someone discovered this.

I also agree Sloi that if 1 of that 2 man heli crew sucks, even if 1 is awesome the overall effectiveness is not as good as either a good solo'er or a good crew. However a proficient 2 man crew will beat a solo'er everytime because they can be doing evasive manouvers as well as firing/guiding the tv (at the same time), whilst the solo'er becomes an easy target when they are guiding the missile with their heli spinning. If the 2 man crew gets to the 2nd barrell role in sequence its near impossible to hit because of the increased speed of the roll compared to the 1st roll. Its not hard to hit a heli doing its 1st barrell roll but goodluck hitting a heli when it goes into its 2nd roll.

HKS, theres another issue. Theres a video piece as a proof that even with not breaking the lock with seat switching, missiles will not detonate on impact.

ppl who argue that a useless gunner doesnt allow u to get kills/points must really suck asss as a pilot....ive flown with gunners that might as well have been idle...but i dont rely on seat swapping to get kills....im aware the pilot is equipped with missles, and i can take out just about anything with them.....so dont blame the gunner for your lack of pilot skills, and certainly dont blame the gunner for taking your points, and your kills (or not being able to) because as a pilot u SHOULD be able to take out just about any target....

stop being a pusssy and learn to pilot

you dont get the point so why are you even here arquing about this, i could care less about my gunner taking my kills and I know hot to take out targets with rockets, I only need one pass to take out armor and other vehicles with rockets

Why don't you go ahead and use those piloting skills against an active enemy heli with full TV abilities? I'll bet my f*cking house that you won't make it 50 yards in by the time you're blown to bits.

Every. Single. Damn. Time.

The pilot can do a lot, but you're over-estimating his abilities.

ive been in servers that dont allow seat switching, and ive gone solo against a two man heli team.....more times than not ive been able to get close enough to them to take them out and had done so......maybe ive been playing against an unskilled/uncoordinated heli pilot/gunner......not sure.....but i still got alot to learn regardless

That's interesting Chris, I did notice you rarely got hit even with lock. I'd like to see that vid.

So single pilots can exploit a flaw in the game by seat switching. So, if I understand this, SP pilots are continually exploiting a flaw/glitch in the game when switching seats. In fact I am prepared to use the 'C' word (if it is true) towards those pilots doing this. And here I am only believing they are being selfish when they are actually doing so much more.
