i think its a bad idea to require two seats being filled.......because:

1: if your pilot gets sniped out, or killed at all while flying, you cannot recover the vehicle and pick up the guy after he respawns

2: there are times when only one person wants to fly the chopper, this would disallow him to do that, and deny your team the help it would provide

3: if it requires two people to take off, and only one person on your team wants it, he would be unable to use it, and it would leave it vulnerable to theft by the other team

4: it would take too long in some cases to take off.....alot of times, a pilot/gunner team has to defend their chopper, the gunner usually in an air defense, while the pilot gets it up and runnning...

i feel the ideal solution is to limit the seat switching so that is only allows a player to SWITCH TO pilot seat, not from

Though I disagree with your myopic opinion, I would like to take this opportunity to recommend finding a server with one or two peeps in it as opposed to trying to learn in SP.

You will have more room to fly around in and do not have to compete with Mobs for the choppers.

In a more caring and kind way, I would also like to encourage aspiring pilots to practice a little before engaging in live multiplayer combat. I would also like to encourage you stick jockeys out there to get off your high horse.

I'm just learning how to fly the choppers. How can you prevent the chopper from drifting to the right when you switch seats or do you just plan for it to do that?

see the problem is most people are too lazy or dont even know how to set up a local\dedicated server to practice

then they complain after their pilot\gunner asks them to get out

I do not believe the message was about needing two seats filled to fly. It was to takeoff. Once in the air certainlly you should be able to switch seats if one or the other airdales is taken out.

I agree that no combat aircraft should be allowed to take off without both seats filled.

There should also be a delay in getting in another aircraft once you have been shotdown. (Ok, that is going to tick them off.)

I dont mind a guy soloing, but when a guy repeatedly whines and cries because he cant have the helo that p!sses me off

I play Iron Gator ALOT the last few weeks and there is a guy on there {russia}spetz and his brother {russia}spetzna
I think thats how they spell it
Anyway all they do the whole entire round is cry and whine about how much better they are in the helo and they should get the helo to themselves, I've seen them TK for the helo many times and the only gunner they will have is each other. And when it gets to the point where the enemy helo gets stolen (as it usually does) then they both fly solo. They brag so much it gets sickening, and I usually end up leaving. If they dont get the helo EVERY round then they make it miserable for everyone else.

of course me being the way I am dont let it go without saying something, usually something like "you guys must have really small d!cks IRL because your e-penis' are HUGE!!!"

then they get pissed at me

Actually you are. Also, you can't learn to gun properly with a bot pilot in SP.

Try taking a gunner aside, in quiet server and give them a few lessons (one with voice on--even better)--heck you might even make a friend.
Find/join a clan that uses teamspeak or vent and has gunners trained up to your elite expectations so that you would almost always have a good gunner with you and that way you wouldn't to deal with the "retards".

This type of elitist attitude the PSU guy is spewing out is why more and more people are going IO, then you all complain that IO is ruining BF2....I say its not IO. If your constantly kicking less experienced people out of the vehicles, where do you think they will all go?

You say if your not good enough stay out of vehicles, I say who the hell are you to tell someone they cant gun in the chopper? its not your freakin chopper! Have some patience man, its only a game. Give the guy (or gal) some pointers, you never know, some people may surprise you. Just because they miss a few TV missiles doesnt make them a bad gunner.

More and more I see this single seating crap and pilots who think they are too good to pick people up...I dont have that problem in IO :p

                      its fine how it is,

though it does suck to have a crap gunner, the best thing is to always have a mte on the server that you've practiced with.

yeh sometiems out of the blue you get the good gunner, i did tonight, on sharqui as US we owned, then on wake as both US and PLA we own, he wasn't very good at TV missiling choppers but he did get higher ratios. if he failed i finished it with hydras.

though i do get ticked off when on my squad server theres a few of us and i'm the only one airbourne, there reading out targets to be destryoed and i've got some 2 strper that cant gun. i'll try and explain the concept of TVMs but if it dont improve i wont OOB him, but ask nicely for him to get out. if he don't then its a nice flip up side down and a bail.

no0b gunners flame away, i dont care, i ahve fun flying and gunning and get my satisfaction for nailing choppers and planes with a TV

trust me, have over 150 friends on xfire(not that im proud of it :|) and I met most of them while flying the chopper

I guess uve never played with me, Im not as bas as you think I am, I actually let peoplle in, if they suck I bring them back and ask them to bail, at least I do it the nice way, well if they suck and wont get out I dont have time to teach them so yea I gotta do something, dont wanna be stuck with him the whole round, I wanna play my game, practice by urselves

Actually it is something I would like to see implemented for ALL vehicles. The vehicles should have a quicker respawn time than the pilot/driver that was just killed. This would allow others to have a chance at a vehicle instead of the just killed pilot/driver complaining about how you are trying to take THEIR vehicle.

Maybe give up the chopper for the round and actually try to learn how to use a different kit.

I am not trying to pick on you but you really are just providing an perfect example of my generality of the type of pilots that SP fly and redline.

You will have first hand experience in SP, because your pilot will never give you a shot, you wont piss anyone off, and opposing STA doesnt have to deal with lag so you have maximum threat. Best place to get his/her first hours.

I would also like to encourage you stick jockeys out there to get off your high horse.
Im sorry, but WTF? You selfrighteous gents tend to forget that a bad gunner ruins the fun for the pilot, and vice versa. Not to mention the little fact that a bad gunner, or a bad pilot will render the chopper an easy target for enemy chopper, and render its ATS capanbilities nearly useless.

Chopper is a 2 man vehicle- agreed.

But chopper gets ruined, when one of the people manning it isnt worth squat.

That being said, Im a jet pilot, not a chopper pilot. Ive taken my lessons in chopper flight and gunning, but I actually give a sh!t about my team and step out of the chopper when I see a better crew wanting to man it.
