When they finally eliminate squad hopping, maybe more people will use the Blackhawk again. Maybe it'll help reduce the "fly over Wake airstrip, jump out of plane, everyone spawn on me" tactic instead of moving your troops in as a unit.

Oh, and the squad hopping will end for everyone. The pro-"squad hoppers" sound like the people who rarely if ever use it will now have an advantage!

or maybe if someone makes it to the shore without getting killed, won't be able to start a squad and get players off the carrier by spawning on him. this o'll make it harder for people to get off the carrier and work as a team to get a flag. and i plan to rape the **** out of pubs on carriers till ea realizes squad hopping is needed.

Just to put things in prespective...

By my best estimation, there's over 500, 000 active BF2 accounts. 10399 signees represents 2% of the community.

I had expected more by now consitering the amount of coverage the petition got.

That's why I said "active" accounts and words like "best estimate".
If I just ment accounts in general, there would be well over 800, 000.
This is just best guess figures based on where my roomate floats in the assaultrifle rankings. He flat out sucks with assualt rifles, but still gets enough kills to float above dead accounts.

exactly, multiple active accounts. and how bout the percentage of people who are pro squad hopping yet dont know this petittion exists. i know plenty of ppl with 4 and more active accounts(as in they play with all of them and are "active" on bf2)

Even if you were to reduce that number by a factor of 5 and assume there's only 100, 000 BF2 players (yeah right), that's still only 10%.

When are you going to grow up and face the fact that hard core "l33t" players are NOT the majority and not the target market for Dice/EA? If every single person that signed that petition left BF2 after the 1.3 patch, they wouldn't even be missed. They're hardly even a blip on the player base's radar screen and they'd rapidly be replaced by other players who have the ability to adapt.

Pathetic! I earned mine the hard way and to think I could have just waited.
This kind of **** ****es me off.

I agree some of the medals and badges needed to be adjusted for the fact of expert repair being impossible to get and almost as hard to get expert healing.

I also do not like how they lowered the requirements for service medals.
I was less than 100 wins from my golden scimitar then they noob it.
At least I got my Navy cross before the noobjustment.

Whats next combat action medal only taking 5k kills???

He can create a squad, he just can't leave and re-join when he is dead. Once he is alive he can leave and join another squad. At least that is how I understand it.

hmm i wonder how many votes a "keep with the squad hopping chnage" petition would get. probabebly all the rest. shame there isnt one. you cant complain about it until its out. you havnt tried it, it will probabebly be better.

Don't resort to strawman tactics.

I know damned well you're smarter than that.

100 000 was a sarcastic figure. You'd have a very hard time convincing me that there's less than 300 000 active BF2 players (I'm still thinking 500, 000 is still a perty solid figure). At 300 000 you only have a 3% signee ratio.

Any way you slice it, this petition is certainly not a representation of "the voice of the community". I had expected at least double the number of signatures by now (based on community member numbers here and at other community sites across the world).

If you've got some evidence/logic that this is a stronger representation, bring it. Don't make up excuses to make your position seem justified when I'm showing you information that shows how weak it is.

Hmm.. you took that jab like a man.
I expected a flamish reply (I know I got a bit grouchy). Good on ya fer suprising me.

Anyway, accourding to my own worst ranking (sniper rifle) I sit at about 390 000. I'm really a perty bad sniper and don't do it that often. Still, I do make enough kills to float above the dead accounts.

FYI, I just did some poking around at BF2players.com (while writing this) and it seems that non-active accounts are dropped from their ranking DB. So even with multiple active accounts, I think my figures might be a bit on the low side.

I really wish I could find a better way of diggin up some more solid info.

Reguardless, the petition isn't going to stop squadhopping from being removed. If it really bothers you, quit. You should be playing games that make ya happy and are fun for you. If you don't wanna quit, then adapt. Playing in constant squads is a hella lotta fun when you get a good one going.
