OK I'll bite an answering your questions from a signee of said petition.

As far as I'm concerned its not just for comp play although it "may" change the way comp games are played.

Squad hopping and SL cycling are there for better teamwork. My argument is that is if they outlaw it then the way a SL needs to play is extremely boring. A SL should stay back out of the action so the rest of the squads has a spawn point. That is soooooo boring for the SL and they end up with a score of 2 if they are lucky. Why should a SL be heavily penalised just for being a SL and where is the fun for the SL to hang back out of the action? If you want to hang back out of the action then play the commander, do a good job and enjoy your 2x bonus. What does a SL get 2 points if they are lucky and a boring time?

Also here's another example. You are playing in a squad and cycling, then you get a random who becomes the SL who is off over the side of the map not even part of the squad. So then you make another squad. By this new system the rest of the squad won't even be able to spawn on the SL till their next death. How is that good for teamwork?

If these buttons are greyed out whilst your dead, what will happen at the start of the round (effectively the same as being dead) I don't know about you but when the map loads I either create or join a squad. If I join I spawn on the SL. You won't be able to do that, won't be able to spawn on the SL until after your 1st death, same for the rest of a squad so then you have a SL with nobody to back them up? Where is the teamwork in that?

I believe that comp players will simply suicide as personal points mean nothing and suiciding doesn't effect the tickets so it would go like this: Want to squad hop, spawn pick the squad, suicide, then spawn on the SL.

This is not an issue on the game and I would rather DICE/EA stop dumbing the game down and concentrating on the real problems all the bugs they still haven't fixed.

As of March 31st, BF2 had sold 2 090 000 copies. If you do the math, only 0.49% of the BF2 players have signed the petition - which renders the whole petition useless.

Id like to know were you got that figure from then as there are only 1,004,931 ranked accounts (look in game at the leaderboard top right corner to how many accounts there are.). At least some of those accounts have got to be duplicate from the same cd-key so that basically makes your figures a load of crap.

If the main argument is that clan players want to squad hop for competition play, then i can't for the life of me work out why the ladders can't just use version 1.2 OR make a tiny and simple mini-mod to allow squad hopping???

No use. I suggested the same when there was complaining about jump'n'shoot removal. If clans want to keep a certain feature for their "leagues" then why can't that league use a mod (or older version) that enables squadhopping?

The trouble is you would need a version installed for comp play and another version installed for pub play. All the mods I have played using the current patch still have a lot of the same things as the patch like can't jump and shoot (not that it bothers me as I think that's weak anyway just making the point)

I wouldn't be suprised though if a comp mod gets made.

Even unranked play you still need an online account you know that thing that you have to login to everytime you want play at the beging of the game. And if you baught this game for single player you must be a sad sad person theres nothing to it theres no point theres no goals nothing you cant even play anything bigger than a 16 player map. Also if you are playing snigle player only i seriously doubt your going to be patching this game the issue that are in the patches are not relivant to singleplayer and the one free map we got from EA/Dice what im aware of has no bot support.

You said RANKED accounts not ONLINE accounts. By your own words you spoke of Ranked accounts showing up somewhere on the Stats page something I cannt check atm since I am working.

My mistake but seriously even if you only play 2 minutes of ranked game play a week and the rest unranked your still going to be on that table (click BFHQ and then leaderboard). BTW get your arse to work you lazy git your getting paid to work not **** around on the net and read these forums.

i agree why change some thing that works.
leave it as it is.
EA/DICE are makin way to many changes to the game,before long there will be nothing left to what the game used to be.
if they want to change every thing all the time then they should of done a poll before its release or released a free beta demo of the game befor they released the retail verson that way they could of got all the feed back they needed to release a good full workin game with no glitch's or exploits an errors.

It doesn't matter how many people sign the petition. You could have 90% of the population sign it. They are more concern of listening to the whiners and nerfing the game up. Also adding more crap options to the game like the nosquad hopping fix,commander drop humv,etc. Next is one shot pistol kill to jets. Instead of fixing the damn bugs like, Blue/red tag bug, enemy target when a teammates leaves the vehicle,the commander asset glitches in wake island and Kubra. The list goes on. Its not going to get better, just worst.
