For all the talk about comp teams hating this, for me this will be the death of pubs. Teamwork is most often a total zero on pub games, and finding a SL who doesn't have his head up his own ass is effectively impossible. Therefore to get nice mobile spawns near the action you HAVE to squad hop. Especially in maps like wetlands it can take FOREVER to get to where the action is, unless you squad hop!

I dont see it as the death of pubs but i do honestly see it as a counter major balancing thing in the game. There are so many aspects of the game that are totaly unbalanced and if they remove a feature like this there going to have to do some major work on alot of maps to try and get the balance back. That is genuinly my concern you remover squad hopping from public play and EA/Dice are going to have to make massive changes to maps and team vehicals to try and compensate and they gme would be totaly different.

They admit that they have absolutely no clue why this is fixed - not because they disagree, but because they really have absolutely no clue what this discussion is about. They are obviously looking for clues WHY it is removed. They would know plenty if they'd read this thread (or one of the many others around), but they didn't.

Of course they disagree. They talk about how they use it and see it as part of the game. They are like the thouseands of other people that don't see a problem with it in the first place, so they don't come on forums to whine about it!

He ask's for people to mail him to give him a good reason why it should be removed because he belives it should stay as it is. He thinks it's a silly decision to take it out.

They wouldn't know good reasons to get rid of squadhopping if they read this thread because they wouldn't agree! If you just get along with the game, like most people do and have no problems with the squad system, you're not going to wan't it changed.

Is it really so hard to understand that the game is fine they way it is, and most people don't give a sh!t about it??? When a few people complain and expect to have it changed it's just selfish.

At the end of the day, you think because a few people don't like it, and believe it will bring more teamwork, EA/DICE should go ahead, and ruin the game for the majority who already enjoy it?

I've heard all these promises and arguments off you that it will bring more teamwork to the game. But not once have you justified why they should be allowed to spoil other peoples gaming.

Did you ever play Omaha Beach on BF1942? No squads there, no squadleader spawning. It was hell for the Allied to get up the beach if the Axis players blocked the roads with tanks. If pubbers NEED to work together to be successfull - then they WILL do so! I've seen it happen on public servers in BF1942: The allied forces on Omaha would coordinate themselves via in-game chat, use all the landing boats together finally and storm the beach with so many soldiers at one time as possible.

But as the squadhopping exploit has given the poeple the power to be effective WITHOUT organizing themselves, why should they bother organizing? They will always go the easy way - but only as long as they can!

If there would have been squadhopping on Omaha Beach, allied people would just always spawn at SLs who almost managed to get up. No need to organize yourself to get up the beach. Lame. Boring.

And now don't come with "BF2 isn't BF1942" - I don't want SL spawning to be removed completely.

There's still SL spawning. I even said it in the part you quoted. But your ability to ignore every part of other peoople's posting you are unable to argue against shows me that you are just Terroser with a new account... doesn't surprise me that a squadhopper resorts to "account hopping" now, at least something is left to "hop" then after bunnyhopping and squadhopping :laugh:

You keep coming back with stupid comparisons to back up your arguments. Battlefield 2 is totaly different to BF1942. Stop saying "it's not how Battlefield is supposed to be played". It's a sequel for gods sake! If they would have kept the gameplay the same in BF2 it would have been just like a mod, and no one would have liked it as much. Why do some sequels get sh!t reviews, because they don't have enough variation form their prequel!

That BF2 without squadhopping will be exactly like BF1942?
You know that statement would be absolutely ridiculous.
There's still squadleader spawning, there's still the commander mode, the vehicles are faster, they respawn faster, you have different map sizes, the ranking system, etc etc etc... so BF2 will NEVER be like BF1942. And I don't want that btw.

Well I don't know if you read that, but DICE announced the squadleader will be able to put some kind of "probe" that will act as a spawnpoint for his squad - but it would not surprise me if DICE would KEEP squadhoppign removed, so you can only spawn from YOUR squadleader's probe. Perhaps I am wrong - but I am sure they won't make some mistakes again they've did in BF2.

Well, since not even 1% of the BF2 population is registered on this site, I'd say that getting 10% of the active population is a sign that this IS a bad call from at least a more feasible majority.

I didn't say I am in the majority - I just said comparing the number of votes from here to the number of people having signed the petition is pretty useless.
Of course comparing the number of people having signed the petition to the total number of registered BF2 accounts is bull$hit too, I only did this to say "I can do pseudo-statistics too".

I think the majority of people just plays the game as it is. The majority of people will install the patch, and half of them won't even notice you cannot squadhop because they never did. The majority of BF2 players doesn't participate in forums, discussing issues with other people, signing petitions, they just PLAY. And they will continue to play.

@Krysiss: You know, sometimes 2 opinions can outweigh 6.000 opinions - sometimes quality wins over quantity
