The Full List of Nominees for The Game Awards 2018

The full list of nominees for The Game Awards 2018 was passed along to us today. You can check all of that out below.

You should know that The Game Awards will be held on Thursday, December 6 at the Microsoft Theater in LA at 9PM (ET). You can vote for your favorites right now at TheGameAwards.com, via Twitter Direct Message, Facebook Messenger, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and the official Game Awards Discord server.

All of that seems really odd and they did not specify how to do any of that, but there you are. I even tried to ask my Google Home "how do I vote for The Game Awards" and it had no idea.

You will be able to watch The Game Awards live on December 6 through YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox Live, IGN, GameSpot, Polygon, MLG, and Caffeine.tv. Believe it or not, there are actually even more places still not yet announced where you can watch it, especially if you live in China....

Former Employee Files Lawsuit Against Telltale for Breaking Labor Laws

The recent and very sudden closure of Telltale left many in the gaming industry saddened. Fans were sad because it their favorite franchises may never be finished or given a sequel. More importantly though, hundreds of employees were let go without advance warning and without severance pay.

This is a big "no-no" when it comes to little things like "laws."

A former employee of Telltale is now suing the company in a class-action lawsuit. Polygon reports that the lawsuit was filed in a federal court in San Francisco on Monday. It was submitted by Vernie Roberts on behalf of himself and the other workers that were laid off this past Friday. The suit says that Telltale did not give "cause" and did not give them "advance written notice as required by the WARN Act."...

  • IGN Pulls Nearly All of Filip Miucin's Prior Work as Investigation Finds Multiple Cases of Plagiarism

If you haven't yet heard, IGN recently fired their Nintendo editor, Filip Miucin, after it came to light that he very, very closely copied a review for Dead Cells. Miucin's video review was for IGN while the review he very apparently copied was from a YouTube channel called Boomstick Gaming. Since then, most of Miucin's work at IGN has been pulled as the investigation uncovers more examples of plagiarism.

Boomstick Gaming was the first to notice the apparent plagiarism and put up a video showing off the obvious similarities....

  • Sources Say Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to Ditch Traditional Single-Player Campaign

According to a report that went up today from Polygon, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII will not feature a "traditional" single-player campaign. It will instead focus more on the multiplayer and Zombie modes.

Sources close to Polygon said that development by Treyarch on Black Ops IIII has been going rather poorly. As a result, it seems as though the single-player campaign wasn't going to be completed in time for the game's release date, which is still set for October 12, 2018. At some point, development then switched away from creating the single player campaign to expanding the game's multiplayer and Zombies modes. The source then goes on to say t...

System Shock Reboot Project is "Taking a Break"

The System Shock reboot, remake, reimagining, or whatever you would like to call it is taking a break. According to sources speaking with Polygon, the team at Nightdive have already burned through the $1.35 million that were raised during their 2016 Kickstarter campaign.

The last major update came in March 2017 when the team decided to switch from Unity to Unreal Engine.

The confirmation on this "break" came directly from Nightdive Studios in a statement released to Kickstarter backers earlier today.
In March of 2016, Nightdive Studios released our video of our vision of System Shock Remastered. Done in Unity it was an immediate hit with almost a half million

    Injustice 2 Promo Poster Leaks

Another minute, another leak. This time it was for Injustice 2. Adorned with the tagline of "Every battle defines you," the poster shows Batman facing off against The Flash.

The poster seems to originally come from some GameStop employee that sent it along to Polygon. According to a letter sent to GameStop managers, these posters will be given out to those who pre-order the game. As of right now, not much is known about the game except that it seems to be coming for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Given Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's treatment of some PC games, I wouldn't get my hopes up...

Media Outlets Angry Over Post-Release Embargo for Assassin's Creed Unity

A few different website have voiced their concern over a growing trend in publishers issuing embargo dates and times that are after the game being reviewed is already released. The latest offender is Assassin's Creed Unity which had an embargo time of noon (EST), a solid 12 hours after the game was released in North America.

Some of the sites bringing attention to this issue are Polygon, Giant Bomb, and Kotaku to name a few. Kotaku is going the extra mile with their disapproval of this practice and have revealed that they will no longer accept post-release review embargoes tied to review copies. The biggest co...
