Umm... I am not sure if anyone realizes this, but if the ct only get the riot shield, and it is cannot be shot through, what will this do to the entire system of cs?? We all have heard of balancing the teams, but giving one side a thing that makes them invincible to a certain point, kinda makes me wonder, what are they doing for the terrorists to help even this out?? At first you would think, well they are gettin the galil, well think, the ct are getting a fa mas, and a riot shield. Has anyone asked this= First round of cs will no be obsolete with low money due to this riot shield, what chance do the terrorists have against guys wit riotshields and pistols? This seriously seriously has to be reconsidered and looked at. I have been wit cs as long as I can member, back in the day when a knife ceased to exist, and the m4 had a scope. Now things are gettin outta hand! as if they havent when docks was taken away lol. But seriously, I really am curious as to how cs is going to balance this advantage being given to the Counter-Terrorist Team, WHAT ABOUT THE TERRORISTS!!!! I hope that someone else soon realizes this and it is not just me, because this is not a good thing, not a good thing at all, the terrorists are doomeD! Riot Shield bad, VOTE NO FOR THE SHIELD! It needs to be small arms protected, from like 9mm and such, not protected from oh say, arctic warfare magnum? SAVE THE TERRORISTS!!!!!Added @ [time="1042012773"]
I think that the riot shield should also have a different view then jus the reg. it should be what you would see when you have the shield, it should be weak where the glass is, the small arms fire should be deflected, not everything, the terrorists should have a command where if they get close enough, they can knock away or push away the shield to fire their weapon to actually hit the person behind it if need be. I just think that the people involved with this are really not looking at this clearly if it is going to be like this, if you are going to make it this strong, dont put it in at all till its done, it is only going to create problems for oh who knows till cz will be out, hell this was suppose to be out today according to valve, but hey, things change. SO as I feel, the new riot shield should be nulled from the entire project until it is fit to be in this. Unless they fix it up so that it will be effective, and fair. Also, WHAT are they doing to balance this out for the terrorist, I have mentioned before, that yea, the Counter-Terrorist get a shield but what new item do the Terrorists get? I think that a half decent way to somewhat please the terrorists over this, is let them have the ability to get dual of all pistols, requiring them to pay the fee for both pistols, and also give that ability to the sub-machine gun department, where they can buy dual mac-10, or if they pick up a tmp, they could pick up another for dual tmp, do you get what im sayin, and i assume that the riot shield might or might not be obtainable if a ct dies and a t picks it up, who knows, but if it is, then the dual weapons the t use, should be able to be dual for the ct if the ct picks up the dual setup the t had, confusing perhaps, but effective, it would be! Seriously, so many things can be comp. for the ct getting this riot shield, the balance in cs must be made. and as far as people complaining about people complaining, nothing was ever solved with LESS communication. Valve would make it a lot easier on themselves by giving us MORE communication. if we got an update more than once a year on the official site, people wouldn't freak out as much when something like this happens. the UNCERTAINTY is the problem, not the date.Comment

I very much doubt you'll be able to afford a shield on the first round and if you could you sure as hell won't be able to buy kevlar too. Without kevlar it would make it very easy to kill a CT by circle strafing with a Glock or by lobbing a grenade at them. Unless I'm wrong I'm pretty sure the shield only protects in front of you which won't protect you from being ganked and as someone with a shield raised can't actually shoot back at you its not the end of the world.

Sorry guys... I'm fucking swamped with homework and real work at the moment. Seems like my classes decided that the first days were the best time to assign a quarter of the text as reading before next week, have a physics lab for 3 hours after only 45 minutes of class, and only 10 minutes on the topic of the lab, and several other projects, on top of my work scheduling me to be in DURING class some of the time. No. A slab of metal doesn't cost $16,000 nor does it come with a whacking stick. You don't need a stick with the shield when you have a USP or Glock by default.
You're all fucking idiots. The riot shield costs 16000 dollars, this isn't going to affect the cpl, this isn't going to affect cal, this isn't going to affect any matches or scrims. Not even pubs if the map rotation time is low or the start money is default. Now if you were cs'ing and you had 16000 dollars, would you ditch whatever weapon you were carrying and buy a shield? By the way it comes with a baton, and if you survive till next round, you can buy any pistol with it. I've played with the riot shield and trust me, it's not that special as everyone thinks unless you're playin with bots.Comment
