  • PlayStation 4 Outsells Xbox One for June Despite $100 Price Cut on Xbox

The NPD figures for June are in and it looks like the PlayStation 4 is once again the best selling console. The PS4 held off the Xbox One for the sixth month in a row, despite the Xbox One being offered without a Kinect for $100 less than it originally released at.

Compared to last year at the same time, retail sales are up 24%, hardware sales are up 106%, but software sales are down 3%. Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 had strong showings for June.
    1. Watch Dogs (PS4, 360, Xbox One, PS3, PC)
    2. Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
    3. Minecraft (360, PS3)
    4. UFC (PS4, Xbox One)
    5. FIFA 14 (PS4, 360, Xbox One, PS3, Vita)
    6. NBA 2K14 (360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, PC)
    7. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
    8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (360, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Wii U, PC)
    9. Tomodachi Life (3DS)
    10. Grand Theft Auto V (360, PS3)

Some other snippets of information say that the 3DS sold 55% more than the sales in May. Tomodachi Life reportedly sold over 175,000 units. Also, while Watch Dogs was the best selling title combined across platforms, Mario Kart 8 was the best selling SKU for the month.
