3D Realms and Interceptor Announce Bombshell a Top-Down Action-RPG That Totally Isn't Duke Nukem

Hey, remember when Gearbox totally sued 3D Realms and Interceptor over the unauthorized use of the Duke Nukem IP? Remember how that was because 3D Realms and Interceptor announced Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction?

And do you remember how it was going to be a top-down action-RPG staring the title character? Well, it seems as though the two studios realized that using Duke Nukem was a bad idea and have tonight announced Bombshell, a new top-down action-RPG coming from 3D Realms and Interceptor.

From the creators of 2013’s Rise of the Triad comes Bombshell, a top-down action role-playing game for PC and PlayStation 4. Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison strong-arms her way across 4 planets in an Unreal Engine-powered galactic adventure to the save the U.S. President from an apocalyptic alien threat. With out-of-this-world enemies, a never-before-seen arsenal of devastating weaponry and a variety genre-crossing mechanics, Bombshell is set to completely blow you away.

Some more screenshots can be seen below for the game. The teams are slated to show off the game at E3 2014, which kicks off early next month. Hey, who knows, perhaps this game wasn't the game that used to star Duke Nukem. Perhaps this is an entirely new game that was whipped up these past few months. Oh, who am I kidding? We all know this is what the Duke Nukem game was before having to replace Duke Nukem.
