So the 'average gamer' (if there even is one?) is incapable of loading into the server browser and finding his/her favourite map and joining?

They seem completely oblivious to the fact that servers act more as a 'pub' in that you find one that fits your style, play with the players that like to play with that way aswell and grow into a community that will eventually get you more into the series/playing with a clan/community.

Now you just seem to get bundled into a 'server' which it is likely you will have to host yourself to play how you want, so rather than just being able to play (on a dedi) I will have to spend longer setting up the game every time and getting people to join me. The thought of knowing my host is likely to get ping spikes due to someone else in his/her house or their crashing etc totally puts me off wanting to play the MP at all.

That would have been a little more peaceful of a death for the series. Seriously, not having dedicated servers for a PC game...especially one that has such a huge MP aspect...wow. I'm sure the pub life will still be busy for a while, but I can only handle so many pub players in modern games telling me all of their '1337' knowledge about the weapons in the RL that I want to make the game a reality and blow my head off. :wall:

I read on the IW forums that someone seen that Amazon employees reported 2,000 canceled orders of MW2 already. I hope its happening all over sites where you can preorder, so IW can get a well deserved wake up call.

I think that would actually be good news for once. This way at least the series would just die right there, instead this news drama drags on eating away any hopes we all had left.

This is all a collection of foul judgment, ignorance, and greed.

Finally, we witness the video game industry becoming just as crooked as the rest of entertainment industry. We had a good run though...

I wouldn't hate it being on Steam, but the lack of dedi. servers makes this a no-buy for me.

I hate CS also, but there are other things Steam does than CS. You dont have to have CS.

Glad to hear about the 2,000 canceled pre-orders. That's ON TOP OF the many canceled pre-orders during the first boycott of this game due to the price increase. Compared to the millions they will make on this game, sure, it's not a lot, but in terms of cash, that is still a lot of freakin' money going out the door b/c of some simple mistakes on IW's part.

NO! Steam Sucks! I Prefer buy the game IN A BOX, install it and run it from itself without NEED other program. But you can use XFIRE, that helps you to manage your games.

But Steam makes everything so easy, and cuts down on piracy without impeding the use of the software by everyone else. Plus, I just wiped my computer and was completely back up and running on Steam in about an hour of downloading.
