The whole 2142 idea smells bad .....

Infact it smells worse than EA's reputation did after that 1.2 patch was released and humvee TOW was found to crash servers

i hate futuristic games with mechs, ghost recon is about the farthest i will go. thats the main reason why i never like the star wars series, and the gay creatures.

its not EA's reputation that is smeared, EA is the publisher, they are the suits, DICE are the ones that to me have been smeared, but after all they have produced a game i play regularly and enjoy every now and then.

I love the idea, and will definitley buy it. most likely all of you will too, despite what you say now lol....

I just hope that when you tread on a grunt in a mech he emits a high pitched (but muffled) squeal that as audiable from the cockpit. :)

I have been missing a proper mech game since mechwarrior 4 became just too clunky, and to be ale to mechjock while there are people, vtols and men running around too is just too damn good. Definitley in for this one lads. If I email them, do you reckon they will put in ERPPC's?

If I want futuristic games I would play UT or Quake. This idea sucks....especially if they aren't going to use a different engine. They couldn't even get SF right on the current engine and they are going to put this game on the same thing?

BF2142 is far from being a concept. We've seen far too many mech games already and i never thought they sold that well in the west anyway. Japan maybe but not hear!! They could turn it around however if they made it like transformers Robots in disguise :P
This Bf2142 is such a rehashed genre that is being made solely to compete with quake wars. I hope this really is a prank/ april fools joke. BF is dead, long live QW.

hell no.. sorry EA, but like it was said before...your jump to the future is too soon.
plenty left to do with bf2....

- many more map possiblities including straight dog fighting maps.
- lots of more armies to include
- plenty of vehicles & weapons to introduce
- expanding maps to 128 would be very very nice.
- solidify the current content
- and my favorite idea.. RETURN TO 1942!!! = D


EA/DICE... if you're actually ever caught reading this crap, plenty of people out there would be willing to buy expansions to BF2. As said before, add a significant amount of content and hell, i'll pay the cost of a full game.

They will of been working on the game for a year and a half..i doubt it will be rushed... Seeing as how there only moding the engine and not actually creating a new one. Most of bf2's dev process was probably getting the engine down pat. Plus now they have advanced beta testing software that shows specific stats of where when and with what weapon a player killed another player. So they can make sure to make an even more balanced game.

And I was thinking about getting quake wars, but now that I know how bad the bf2 community is...i think i'm gonna change my plans. I can see it now on the totalquakewar forums. OMG QETF!!!haxors people are bunny hoping i hate this game oh noes everything looks like plastiq wtf hax i thought i was 1337 with my 1.337 kdr cuz its above one and i pwn.

So with all you people going to quake wars I can play with the decent players who hopefully wont use mass whining techniques to destroy a good game.

they should make people pay for patches that fix problems.

thats what i would do if i were DICE/EA.

the gamers will pay up. they talk big on their little forums, but you watch, theyd all pay up. maybe not the real big whiners on the forums, but theres only like 5 of em.

i voted no cause anything SCI FI other than star wars is gay.
