I voted 'no', because this just smells like a direct competitor to 'Quake Wars', just for the sake of it. Doesn't mean I'll dismiss it out of hand though.

I meant in terms of their next game. DICE isn't going to work on BF2 forever, you know, and the future seems like a logical step.

i just want to use mechs i havn't been able to play with mechs since i stopped using my matrox graphics card all those eons ago, it came with a copy of mech warriors that was graphics card specific :-@

It's a good idea, but BF2 hasn't even been out for a year. Let BF2 run strong for a year or two THEN make a new game. By that time they could have a new kick ass engine made to run BF2142.

Sorry to disapoint, they will not, from what I hear, be using a new engine. It WILL be rushed out, in time for fall apparently, with a patch out just before it prolly. Ahhh the thought of being called a base raper whilst sitting in an ED209.

Shoulda gone for a semi-futuristic game in between instead of jumping to this full-blown mechs, lazers, and cloaking BS. BF2072 or something.

Heck, they could just give us 128+ players, bigger maps, full-sized bombers and attack formations, with the same setting as BF2 or slightly more futuristic. That'd be cool.

No, thanks. If I want sci-fi, I think I'll opt for Quake Wars. I liked the pseudo-realism of BF2 and its predecessors.
