Sure there's nothing wrong with learning many steps ahead in the software, but it's when you don't have the experience in shooting and directing is the real test which you can only get from going into production, putting down the foundations before the glitter.
Indeed, get your footage first then experiment color and lighting effects...
It's all about finding the right balance. If you add blooming and blur, don't exagerate. It also depends on the type of shot obviously, if you have dynamic camera (ie. a carscene) you can add more blur to extend the feeling of motion. But don't use it if you have static camerashots because it will ruin the shot entirely. Find a good balance, try to level the effects with the story you want to tell.

For SOF we are using alot of effects, as you can see in the previous wip caps. But those effects (as we feel) add a certain amount of ambience to the shot. Not because we like to show off visually but because the standard colors in BF2 are just plain ugly. We deceided early on to change that. The most difficult part of it was and still is, to find (as I said) the right balance. There are many visually enhanced shots and some of them were not good because the effects were just overused. So we deceided to redo them. They all help telling the story, setting the right mood, it's almost like a character in the movie itself. The most thrilling part is to see it come alive in post, once music and sound effects are added. Then it suddenly all makes sense.

The first successful BHD remake I have yet to see. I hope you don't just copy the movie.

Sorry for a lack of ENDGAME but I picked up more shifts at work and I have my course going as well, I've been REALLY busy, I have some time next weekend I should be able to finish Episode 1.

However I have some bad news, I simply won't be able to do Episodes 2+ as the clan will not be renewing it's server on the 19th, very little of them have any interest in playing BF2 anymore, let alone acting, I am getting busier and busier and tired of BF2 as well.

I won't totally write off the possibility of more Endgame after Episode 1 but it's looking pretty unlikely and for that I'm very sorry.

I have all of Episode 1 filmed, it just needs to be edited and I also have a demo of a car race on Fu She Pass our clan held which I will probably make a movie out of when I do get some time.

I myself am pretty disappointed it will never get done, I hope no one else is too disappointed.

I will also probably release the fragments of edited footage I have from Episode 4, which If I may say so is actually pretty good.

Episode 1 has turned out OK, nothing special really as there is no real plot (that as all for subsequent episodes) and it's just a small action scene, another reason I'm so disappointed as Episode 1 was always going to be the 'worst' Episode and now that's all there will be of EndGame.

So, my Apologies but on the bright side Episode 1 will still come out, even if it isn't as good as it could of been and I have a Race movie in the Pipeline that will come out in 7-9 weeks at the latest (I have holidays then).

Episode 1 will run at about 5-7 minutes, not too long, was never going to be, and the Episode 4 segments are 15 seconds, 30 seconds and 1 minute 30 seconds.

Not very much for months of work, I'm sorry but there are ALOT of factors that contributed to this.

Washburn647 Studios is pleased to announce it's upcoming film, "Killing Time".
I don't have the footage yet, i'm going to make it like my last film, just using Battlerecorder to take footage of a regular battle. It's due out later this week. Hope you'll enjoy!

Well i could safely say that i have finally started to get more work done on chase at fushe. John-Paul has been kind enough to lend a hand in coding and tweakings and I would say things have been going pretty smoothly. So as that was going on, I decided to make up for all the days i missed not working on the project by planning the sequel. The sequel will be more focused on the infantry aspect of the game and will take place on the map "Songhua Stalemate". So far i the storyline, general storyboard, and statistics have been created for the sequel. All that is left is finetuning the storyboard and then start filming.
Since I cannot make the fushe chase into widescreen, I am going to make sure the stalemate video is made with widescreen in mind. I'll update the progress of both as time progresses.

Hi guys! I've just started on a BF2 Project, Price of Duty. I'm aiming for 15 minutes' length, decent storyline, good fighting and a 'moral of the story' kind of setting.

Here's a short clip of my introduction. I did it very roughly and simply, just to show my actors the sort of effect and story I want to create.

Based on the amount of time I took to do this short clip, and between real life, I estimate that I may take up to 6 months to complete this =x

                Feedback and such welcome!

p.s. Strupie & Donkey you guys inspire me to make PoD look good. I look at your SoF wallpaper everytime I log in to my desktop, it's real inspiration. Looking forward to SoF!

After I voice act for Sands of Fire, I am going to be looking to voice act in my spare time for a comedy series, but who is looking for voice actors.
