Get over it.

I couldn't care less about ya specificly... other than finding your delusions of grandure to be highly amusing.

I'm yappin at pilots who are willing to adapt.
I don't *think* that includes you.
I think he already has.

Speaking of modern air combat. Does anyone have a comprehensive guide to how to shake and change roles? preferably with illustrations.

Reading the first post in a thread is always a good idea.

Or do you have some short term memory issues?

Sorry to have to bring it up, but insert foot in mouth.

You're giving people piloting advice, with your 10 minutes in a Plane, and think your opinion is somehow more valid than a pilot with hundreds of hours of piloting experience, and the best statistics of any pilot in the game.

I should say rather, get over yourself.
My compairison between you and a rusty hammer were inspired by the outragiously amusing ego you displayed in a post that was the subject of that thread. I giggled. It was funny.

The rest of the post was simply true. Post 1.2 I've been more interested in planes because A) there's less stupidity going on around them (Tking for planes has been reduced draticly), B) with so many pilots complaining about how bad it is in the sky, it made me think that there could be some amusing challenge up there, and C) I didn't have to worry about feeling dirty about farming points with no opposition.

As previously stated, about the only times I ever bothered to take a plane up in previous versions was to do Air to Air. It didn't find it remotely fun, tho. Infact, it was perty stupid. I could fly for hours doing very basic especape manuevers, while downing an enemy bird with missiles was about as probable Nastie suddenly coming to understand that acting like an arse brands you as an arse.

Hehe. Nice.

Just keep reading... it does have some good diagrams later on.
I spent quite a bit of time looking for a good visual quick referance sheet on ACMs, but they're few and far between.

If anyone else can dig one up, I'd apressiate it too (currently looking for another one that I found and lost last night).

I remember one guy posted this up. Dont know his username so I cant give any credit.

Tried to get them to work, and follow them up but just failed. I dont know why but they dont seem to be effective. They dont assume that a jet can circle around a spot, LOL.

PW, you are seriously the most tedious and nauseating forum member I've ever been witness to! That, above all, is your most identifiable and unique achievement!

Ya know, you're a psychologists wet dream, narcissism from head to toe. Not even Micheal Moore is as full of himself as you are.

Quite frankly, you suck and nothing your stats of 1.12 from bombing people who couldn't defend themselves can prove otherwise. People who don't suck, don't spend their time bitching and whining on forums, they adapt to the change and soldier on. Which is something you and a few other tards have shown to simply be beyond your grasp. Nothing you say will change the fact that missiles didn't work before the 1.2 patch. Dice obviously agrees or the change would not have been made. So as it is, you got two choices:

1. Stfu and adapt like people who actually have skills have done.
2. Do the community a favor and quit BF2 forever.

I would very much prefer #2, but #1 will suffice as well.

Hehe, yup, that's the one I'd found.
It's a little overly basic and missing a lot of fundamental manuevers.

Also, note my pervious note that it's the conceptual understanding that's important rather than the hard and fast doctern of MACM. Focus more on how your angles and speed can result in overshoots or can force your opponent to overshoot you.

So far its skills/experience/6th sense/advanced throttle control/jet characteristics awareness/"what would the opponent do"/"what did he do last time I chased him". Easy no? LOL

Everything else what you do depend on these small guidelines. Maneuvers in BF2 seem to depend too much on the "100% missile foolproof" evasion- which as we know is hard turn. Oh sorry, was, hahaha. With added features of A2A missiles (eg. insanity), I get curious, if the modern dogfight guidelines apply more. Its a battle for the first lock, like in real life, so at least SOMETHING from real life should apply... No? Please tell.

I find it funny that PW, a person who has only bitched and moaned, is somehow deciding it intelligent to have a go at WarGimp.

Interesting post, Gimp. I don't like too much realism in my BF2. I don't like my LockOn in my BF2.

Variations on those RL manuevers can work quite well. I'm rather found of the Split S (which is one that's strangely missing on every site I've looked at so far).

When you hear a lock tone, drop flares, bank hard over 'till you're inverted, kill your thrust, then pull up until your nose is level again. So far this has resulted in clearing my tail almost every time. Obviously, if you're at low altitude, don't do it. Plowing into the ground is embaressing.

Incedently, this is also a great way to do a 180 for making a second pass at a ground target you've overshot. Just gain altitude right after to miss your target (you should be getting used to doing this to avoid SAMs anyway), then do a Split S. You'll be heading right back at your target.

That's just one applied manuever I dig. There's a bunch of others.

It's also important to understand that when you're jockying for position, it's the break and reaquire that's almighty. Once you've cleared your tail, you need to find a way to get on his.

I´m too 1337 to do split S´s! LOL

Yeah, did that a lot. What I am more interested in are maneuvers in dogfighting though and how real life tactics/maneuvers may/can apply to BF2 atmosphere for it having a "first lock first kill" dogfighting scenarion now.

EDIT: Oakenfold, that topic is great. Learned to do barrel rolls from there (never used-had use for them before nor after, though) to show off, hahaha.
