I love flying now, there is skill required.

Now, when I use my resonably flying skills to intercept and get behind an enemy plane, I usually kill them. Unlike pre-patch, which was stupidly impossible.

So here 's my two cents on this....

I am a medium player in terms of walking around shooting stuff...in fact my style (call it a flaw in my character, call it a fetish) didn't allow me to actually LIKE being a ground sholdier running around..I didn't want another DELTA FORCE like game... So i started getting comfy being in tanks and APCs and actually i was getting good at it...then i said HEY you have to be balanced...lets try something else...enough of strike at karkand!!!... so i turned to planes...wanted to be at least medium to everything this game had to offer...well, i simply loved the plane...was getting again good at it...when i got the plane i was actually happy...i had to stay focus all the time, had to plan strategy against ground AA and i anjoyed dogfights so much...you had to know how to fly the ****ing thing in order to kill another fellow pilot....and when you got killed by a pilot although you knew that on next respawn you had to deal with other 10 people for the plane, although u smashed the respawn key on your already destroyed keyboard, you grinned and said to yourself ('...well done mother****er you got me..you surely know how to fly your thing..."and paid respect to the one who used 2-3 missles and his driving skills over yours)............

well my basic point is that now, ground whiners -like 90% of these forums (which I consider the best around) - are now so happy that EA actually did them a big ****ing favour and express themselves in such a joy... But for EA was simply a way to keep getting the cashflow running...90% of their customers whined, so they give the majority what they want, in order to make existing clients buy the stupid expansion coming up and to tell to their whiner-to-be-friends: "hey BF2 is awsome...when you are just **** at it...go whine to the company! they will issue a patch in no-time!!!"....equals= more money to them!! Why you think they gave this patch 7 days prior to the euro forces launching? think well...

If now all the pilots go whine about the missles physics bla bla bla....in 4-5 months they will make a new patch favourable to pilots...and be sure they will have a ready made launch for the AERIAL forces or so and so forces featuring 4 new planes!!!! this will get them to SELL more...

planewhore is not exactly my hero but he is right in some extend....admit it...you surely wished to have his skill in driving a plane..most of you ground whiners can last in the cockpit for less than 20 secs.....then you got lazy to try one more time so you turned to the old running and shooting thingy of yours...ok but dont minimising his skills cause i m sure you destroyed 3-4 keyboards while a good pilot OWNED you

im sure that in 1-2 weeks he (and other good pilots) will still make you logout the servers he (or other good pilots) gets in...you will still initiate a vote kick cause you feeling angry you cant be in the pilots position and you were so close to cap a flag while his/her bomb felt on your stupid head....

So i say BRING IT ON EA...we dont have time to whine like the 90% of the ground loyal customers..we are finding ways and strategies to own you again...any good tips are welcome to make the 90% go again whine to mommy EA for a new patch where you just click the left mouse button and the enemy plane just explodes....

sorry to offend some of you but this is my opinion either you like it or not....

plus sorry for my english as I am greek...if you prefer me writing in greek i am much more fluent....

All I see is someone who thinks the are more important that anyone else in the game. You seem to think because you can fly a plane and get massive K/D ratios that you are somehow elite. You seem to think that all the "ground pounders" just want to be like you but they just don't have the skill.

This shows me that you are nothing more than a wanabe. You think because you can use a weapon that is out of ballence with the rest of the game that makes you good. please.....

I've seen the "good" pilots in the last 2 days. Those are the ones that changed tactics and are still killing. Those guys have my respect, not some wanabe fighter jock who thinks he's good.

Since all you seem to care about is "owning" people, is a 20-5 round not good enough? If you think that flying around a map and killing people that have no way of doing anything to you is skill, you are truely a sad looser. Maybe you should move on to something else then.

It is so funny...everyone predicted that the patch would create a new breed of complaining and...sure enough here it is. Can we PLEASE have a sticky thread about planewhoring going away? or a 1.2 thread stuck? I am tired of the constant creation of new threads. Make one for the whores and one for the ground fodder....but dont mention EA cause you could get banned. :/

I've not played 1.2 yet - just installed it last night. From what I read here, EA have just made things a little more 'realistic':

If a real fighter plane/chopper was to overfly enemy territiory and had used-up all of its countermeasures (flares). It would be in serious trouble if a locked-on ground-to-air missile was fired at it.

The flyers have had things a little too easy for too long, they got used to it, understandably.

The game is great, if people don't like it, they can play something else. At the end of the day, this IS just a game.

The Better AA will help distinguish between the excellent pilots and the others. Now previously untouchable jet fighter pilots with average skill will be whining about how they got nerfed, while skilled pilots will still promote fear to jump behind the aa tubes. It now takes more thinking to score well in a jet. No more barrell rolls over the aa emplacement while we fire off volley after volley at you and miss.

Heli's that sneak around and are smart enough to clobber AA sites first will still do well.

Better AA makes for a more balanced game. Given that my friendly aircrews somehow stupidly reload enemy bombers at our flagged bases and bombers insta reload, but thats another topic......

actualy planwhore iw right, jets and choppers are a great feature in the game, now this feature is lost, this because the noobs didn't had the brain to hide, to know where the plane will strike, to use the previous AA more effective, to get the jet in the air on there team to hunt down the other jet, ....

all those here saying, bla bla bla, great, are just big loosers

Damn you're right, I hadn't worked on my ESP enough to know when a plane was coming so I could hide out in the middle of the friggin open. It's not like you can open a door to the hotel in gulf of oman and get everyone down to the bomb shelter. It they had put in big arse air raid sirens and bomb shelters maybe this would be a valid idea but get serious. Also, did you ever TRY the previous AA? Wait, I know the answer "No, I was camping the runway so I could TK to get the plane.". Well, coming from someone who used them a LOT before the patch I can tell you they were terrible. Most of them can only shoot in about a 180degree radius which means the pilots just came from the other side and bombed you. In fact it's still true. Due to LOS most maps have alleyways that are totally clear for planes/heilos to come through. My heart pumps p*ss for all the pilots that are crying right now.

On a side note I took out a heilo last night just to see how it was and I only got shot down once in 12 min. Why? Because I could sneak up and take out the AA guns with a quick TV missle and then there was nothing left to defend. I honestly think the change only made a difference in the flight patterns and in a week when everyone figures them out it will be back to normal.

planewhore is absolutely right...the whiners ruined the game when all they had to do was try and make an effort... i never had a prob with pilots cos u have to know how to fight em... the 1.2 patch ruined the air vehicles...among other things...

Yup what he said.

I love ground pounders. If it weren't for them no matter what I did as pilot we would still loose. I can't cap a flag in an airplane.

My hope is there will come a time where people will pay attention to who is in thier aircraft the same way they do with what the commander is doing.

If you check stats and see your pilot has 0 kills and 5 deaths he shouldn't be flying and he is hurting your efforts to win the game.

If your pilot sucks and if the other team has even a halfassed pilot YOU WILL LOOSE
Especially if that map has bombers.


The new patch is a very unique feature in it that is just now starting to work.

The patch makes good pilots better and makes average pilots run to the forums to cry about the patch

Pre-patch if you had a good pilot on your team he owned. 50+ kills in a game were common. And if they were raping your base. You were screwed. Now the base has defenses and if your team has a good pilot then he will find thier pilot and shoot him down.

This is still possible even with aa if you have to good pilots. Its happened to me when I couldn't get an airplane and I have done it to other teams when I could get an airplane.

The answer here has been posted a hundred times in the game and is still true If you can't fly stay the fuxk out of the airplane.

If you haven't aquired good pilot skills yet - - Tough ****. Go practice in a small server or in single player. And yes you can practice in single player.

Mr. Chris you are wrong. You and the other plane ho's don't realize that the only "defense" against jets was AA. [sans the useless Phalanx/and aa vehicle] You remember the word: "defense" don't you? The opposite of "offense"? the 'yang' to the 'yin' of warfare?
Even with k/m I was able to fly high and rack up kills, but that wasn't fun.
Get real. Now YOU need to work at taking out the AA instedad of:

10 spawn
20 whore plane
30 bomb
40 reload
goto 30

We need to get a donation drive going so Planewhore can go to a psychiatrist and work on his narcissism problem. He's so full of himself. I've shot him down a few times pre-1.2 barely even trying, and I'm not that good of a pilot.
