I may be a simpleton, but atleast I can adapt to the new missiles, and not run around forums screaming my little head off in frustration like you.

So basically if you fly against good players .... or even attentive players, it is much more difficult to fly, but if you fly against lousy players or those that are not paying attention, or those that are already getting beat back on the ground, you can do just fine? Go figure.

You have to target the AA sites with your cannons now? Oh no! You can't just ignore them anymore. That's really too bad. I just sat around last night picking guys off who hopped into AA sites just to make our pilots' lives easier. It's called teamwork.

If you fly over an area with more than one AA site, you are lit up like a Christmas tree? Gee, that would NEVER happen if a pilot was dumb enough to fly through an area like that.... /end sarcasm

The only real gripe that pilots should have at this point is the missles that get stuck on oil towers and such. That is an obvious bug.

Other than that ... if an AA site targets you, you either shoot it before you get in range for it to target, or you drop flares and get out of there.

If you fly into an area with multiple AA sites before your team has had a chance to secure the area, you deserve to get shot down.

If you are still putting up 80 kill games, stop your crying.

all i know is before, if you were smart, you'd get guys in several AA sites and when a jet or chopper came close by, they couldn't avoid ALL the missiles. My friend and I did this on Clean sweep, with the mobile AA and a AA site. It got to the point where the pilot was complimenting us for continually shooting him down...COMPLIMENTING! why? Because this was before the point and click AA...this was with the supposed "flawed" AA. It worked before, yes not very well I agree to that, but if you knew how to use it before, you would likely hit. Combined that with most of the AA sites being manned...I'd like to see a jet or chopper get through. Of course you cant test that now, as one AA site, let alone 2 can take out anything flying. I did feel AA needed a buff..but...I'm a little disappointed to seeing how much they did to aircraft. Super AA, lower hitpoints, less rockets for choppers and shorter TV range. Guess I wont be flying for a while...though I rarely flew...It was fun...now...kind of sucks. I like ground combat over air combat, so those that think i was a major pilot, I'm not. I just liked to fly for fun, now its a waste

1.12 - Highlight target and fire when tone is achieved
1.20 - Highlight target and fire when tone is achieved

Newsflash, its ALWAYS been point and click just as EVERYTHING else in the game is. The only difference now is that the missiles actually do their job. Oh the horror!

I dont know guys. I like to read PWs interesting and constructive posts a lot more than posts from score-jealous idiots.
So far what Ive witnessed- lock-on is dead-on if you dont have the countermeasures. Dogfighting takes the biggest punch next to helos. I dont know. It sure looks more fun to me to fly, track and constantly create opportunities and work HARD for a kill than just work for a lock on and forget the situation. Yes I enjoyed the 10 minute dogfights where I didnt get any kills and we both flew to rearm and resume our fight. That was extremely fun.

PWs main point is that planes have to be on the defensive now as opposed to offensive. Meaning, they have to keep killing the AAs constantly. If a plane has to keep concentrating on the AAs, then what do you know, GROUND infantry isnt doing their work. Meaning, they fail at teamwork. Meaning, all the whine that planes arent a part of teamwork is all just a hypocritical nonsense.

I'll take some of whatever you're on, it sure does the trick for escaping reality and right now I could use it. I suggest reading his post again when the drugs wear off though, it's a great laugh.

Point jealous? Puhleeze. We've adapted our flying techniques to the new missiles unlike the whiner. I still get the same amount of high points as I used to. Just goes to show who the real skillful pilots around here are. Typical strategy out of the liberal playbook. Slander others when you are wrong.

Defensive? You mean to tell me jets aren't invincible killing machines anymore? Oh the horror! Get a clue you tards.

Theres a difference. post-launch or pre-launch? if your flight technique involves being out of harms way, then this is not what I have in mind nor what PW has in mind.

dont fly on 64/64 maps having ppl in all AA sites. gun them down from a distance they cant see you and you know where they are since they cant move HAHA planes still rule

                          My OPINION

PlaneWhore is a moron and here is why.
Before he was pretty much untouchable... now that AA can actually hit him, he is unhappy and whines... All I can say is, Good... many pilots are very happy with the change because its less boring, its fun when your being challenged.

At least I have some respect for you for your ground efforts !
You maybe much better then me, but I eint as big of a crybaby an Egotisticle FatHead... your original post whining about 1.2 really showed how much of a nutcase you are.

As for reality... even if this game is a game, far from real, it is a little more realistic that a plane goes down with 1 rocket, and that it is THAT MUCH HARDER to avoid a rocket when locked...
you got flaires, if there used up already... to bad, you had your chance to escape once.

As for DogFights, well I like it better that way and skill is still involved...
I cant fly, yet now I know I can down a half decent player by getting behind, getting a lock and shooting missles... (WELCOME TO 2006)
Or maybe people think its 1942 where planes MUST use their Machineguns...
Skill is still involved, if I am behind you, shoot your flaires and do a manuver that I will not be able to follow, if I follow you, then I eint all that bad !!!

Basically, the choppers have it the worst... they can get shot down by almost anything ! and now require SOOO MUCH more skill to stay in the air...
Well, I love my choppers, so I will get used to it, and do ALL I can to be an expert at it.

EA can not make everyone happy without making some unhappy.
Get over it, get used to it.

If planewhore was as good as he claims to be, he wouldnt Cry about 1.2 patch, he would accept it...
There is a difference between voicing your opinion, and whining like a baby..
His quoted Post was seriously sad and shows his true colors as One who thinks is god's gift and has the world turning around him.

PS: tell me off about my spelling and I will laugh at you for not being able to make a good, mature post with valid arguments.

I wouldnt want to to sound like an idiot, but this is nonsense. If you speed down and keep your distance, there is NO maneuver the target performs that you couldnt follow. MiG vs F35B anyone? F35B speeds up, MiG is left behind with a solid missile lock. The ONLY reason a MiG didnt shoot was because a solid missile lock didnt mean insta-kill anyone.

Current jet dynamis in BF2 are meant so that you seek for your opportunity to fire. If current missile behaviour was kept in mind then all jets would be 100% equal to one and other.

The problem is that now a noob in AA has equal chances against an expert chopper pilot...thats just not right.

It should be skilled AA person has advantage over skilled aircraft person.....not noob in AA > than expert pilot...

Jets = ok from this thread as far as I can tell....

But choppers still aren't balanced with ground AA...and ATA...choppers are toast vs. jets....it was bad enough in 1.12.

I will shed one tear for planewhore, arguably the best pilot in BF2, who partially inspired me to fly. And I will continue, by laughing in the face of 95% of the BF2 players that are so vocal now when finally the airplanes have been nerfed. The fun part is that most people are still lousy players, and while I might have been mediocre in the air, I will get my rage-screenshots just as well on the ground.

                                Cheers to planwhore.
