BravoTwoZeroUK (and anyone else) I do not understand how you can say you are so good at the game, and then say you have trouble taking out attack helos.

Sometimes when I'm not being a "noob" using a chopper or plane or *gasp* a tank, I will go chopper hunting, It's not difficult at all. All you need is to play as AT class and jump in a light vehicle with a 50cal that has a full 360degree rotation. I'm not going to bother typing up all the details as obviously a military tactician of your calibre knows more than I ever could. I will mention though that being AT class is not exactly optional, if a helo ever fly’s down so low and so slow that it is able to easily kill infantry it will be a easy shot for a AT rocket. Now if you get killed by a chopper, why not spawn at the closest point as AT instead of respawning as Medic or Assault, if you can take a chopper down with a RPG an AT gun will be a piece of cake.

I have compared our stats and I will say that your skill on the ground is impressive, minus the AT class. I do however have a positive WIN ratio and a higher teamwork score with 50hours less playtime than you. One thing I do find amusing is that I have better scores in Planes, Helos, Mobile AA(god knows why you dont use them constantly if you loath helos) and Tanks, the latter which if I recall correctly you do not deem a noob weapon for what reason? Is it because you can actually use them?

I would not call this game balanced in its current form, but I do not see the helicopter as in need of a major nerf, I would rather see that given to the planes.

Infantry are at the bottom of the food chain everything has an advantage over them in most situations. Light vehicles kill infantry, Tanks kill light vehicles and infantry, helicopters are higher up still killing all of the below, and finally planes kill everything and are hardly killed by anything bar other planes.

Now that’s not to say that a infantry or a light vehicle cannot kill a chopper, it is just supposed to be that little bit more difficult, wake island for a example has one chopper per team, but there is like 8+ light vehicles.

Please respond in a constructive way

      Ragamuffin.

I think it's ridiculous for the helicopter to be flying tank. that's all.

Last time I checked tanks do not fear light vehicles, and even a plane will not kill a tank in one pass but it will a chopper.

Reduced health on a helo will be welcome but I think halfing their ammo and reducing the range of tv missles may be going a little over the top.

For example such a small Island yet we ruled half the world lol basically.Only reason we didn't finish the US off is we suffered a few loses in skirmishes and public views were changing back home.Maybe we wouldnt have to follow you into Iraq and lose some good men.
I'm not surprised 'wanna be' soldiers aren't impressed by who have real military experience because lets face it your just jealous you'd never make selection ohh wait your going to tell me you have this amazing Civilian job which pays alot.
Defend chopper wh*reing all you want it's over fella's time for you to buy a flight sim..Thank you please
In history there have been superpowers, and in time each has proven they will and do fall from power. The Spanish, the French, the British...so many. And soon, the USA.

Superpowers are not meant to last, religiously nor politically (Muslims vs Christians, Rome vs everyone, etc. You say it yourself; Britain "ruled".

As for line formation, I don't consider being shot and killed as "having balls", I call that being an idiot for getting shot so easily. The way to survive war is to survive it, not to die on the front.

I've never been in the military and I never intend to. Who do you actually think you fight for? Your country/government? Your Queen/King? Your God?...Yourself? No..you fight for money, land, greed and power. The indisputable truth is you fight because another man or group of men deems the cause as being "just". There is no liberty in violent death, only war. Some wars seem necessary..."seems" is the kicker.

As for its relation to BF2, BF2 is a game, "war is a state of widespread conflict between states, organizations, or relatively large groups of people, which is characterised by the use of lethal violence between combatants or upon civilians."

The game is defined as a "tactical military shooter". I don't consider myself a soldier wannabe because I will never have the want or need to become one. I consider myself an online gamer, whos interest into the game lies solely in the enjoyment of playing a game with friends...and not hold a real gun and fire at other human beings. I play because I enjoy it, not because I want to join an army.

Since I do know some friends with military background, I can assure you that your outlook on military life and civilian life is confused. Military men and women normally leave the armed forces to join the country's internal work force. Sadly for most, the armed forces offer no real qualifications or experience that the soldier can use in the everyday life of a "civilian". For some it's a breeze (technical expertise, "desk" jobs, etc), but for others there is no need for a weapon yielding killing machine.

It's sad that some soldiers are forgotten so easily by civilians, yet you fail to realize that some civilians with "high paying" or rather "low paying" jobs were once in the armed forces. Get a life buddy.

            PEACE

oh...as for the choppers, again...The 1.2 patch will only make the good pilots better at what they do best, fly and kill those that oppose. If you can't cope now, you won't cope with the new patch.

Everyone has taken out choppers before, and most everyone knows the best way to do so, I have taken out some choppers, even caught some low flying planes in my day, BUT in the 8 seconds it takes to take out a chopper with the fiftly cal. a good pilot/gunner will replace your jeep with a flaming whole in the ground....anyone can take out new chopper pilots but dudes with hundreds of hours in the cockpit, it take alot of luck with the hit point level of the current choppers....

Well, as an experienced/veteran helicopter pilot (in BF2), I somewhat agree with you.

It is definitely difficult to take one down, but was it necessary to make the drastic changes such as make it succeptible to less than 5seconds of ground fire? I said once, and I will again: This will not make the pilot of the helicopter any worse off. His gunner is the one with the killing cannon.

A gunship is a deadly weapon because it is a flying tank. Something to be reckoned with. Another tactic players don't utilise often, as it never was with BF Viertnam, is the ability to point out vehicles for your teammates. If I hear a squad mate calling out a helicopter, I immediately head for their area and switch to guns instead of AA (in jets)....trust me, they will not be expecting it, and will mostly be killed.

If you find yourself in a situation where a helicopter is creeping up on your position, hide. I don't know how else to put it. You shouldn't be expected to take out the helicopter as an infantry. You can try and run for a jeep/tank, but you are giving the pilot/gunner the chance to see you. Wait to fight another day..or in this game, a minute.

You said it yourself however, that some of the pilots have hundreds of hours being pilot, and on the same note there are players with the same amount of experience that can easily form a strategy to take down the helicopter within seconds, from seperate angles. It's called utilising what the game offers you; squads, cover (trees, rocks, etc) and the awesome "Q". :)

I don't think EA/DICE is giving any advantage to the entire Battlefield community. I think they are tired of reading and hearing about how most people can't play properly without getthing an arse whooping.

The community was just as large for the first two games, and from what I recall, most of the "upgrades" and "patches" were made to add stuff to the game, not nerf the vehicles that are meant to be anti-everything killing machines. (i.e. HUEY/Cobra and the Phantom overpowering most other vehicles when flown properly)

There are tactics that can allow you and your friends to become top of the leaderboard, whether on the ground as infantry or in the air as a pilot/gunner. It's getting to know them and being able to use them against your enemy that gives you that bragging right of being on top.

The only other issue I see that kills gameplay is the "ranked" server aspect of this game. Some fools don't care about anything but how many kills they get in a game. Team? BF2 isn't a team game for them; TKing for the vehicles and complaining about everything is, however.

Some people can point out how much they actually suck by displaying the points they get in one random game. Do you expect the community to view the "lower than some" avg. score as something to be reckoned with? Personally, I don't think I will ever play these "UK" guys simply because we are in different time zones/servers, but I can tell you that they will be back on here to agree with the decisions made by EA/DICE by making idiotic remarks that even a 13yr old can dispute.

If you write on a forum, please refrain on using the same argument and "message" in every post you make, then write things like "I grow weary of this thread, change of subject" simply because you have no legit rebuttal. Funny how your military actually asks for our special forces to help out when they can't do it.
Your supposed special forces are different. Not so special when hundreds of men are in them. You have that many Special Forces that basically they jazzed up Infantry battalions.
Just thought of perfect example.Hunt down the footage of that jail break in Afghanitstan.Where if memory serves me well the SAS and American special forces were fighting the taliban yet it was our SAS who you could see fighting.Like our guy with the GPMG firing from the hip

I quite look forward to the patch and I'm a dedicated attack helo pilot. Because they make it harder to stay alive less people will want to fly which means more flying time for me/us. They lower the ammount of hitpoints so you can kill someone faster and that benefits the accurate and those who get first strike. They lower the hellfire range so that there's less chance to get killed from someone you can't see which I think will improve clan play and level the playing field between the recently downed helo and the airborne one. They make stingers more accurate so that bad pilots will stay alive for shorter periods of time.

All in all the patch benefits the good players more than it benefits the bad. Clan matches will also be much more interesting when the spawncamping helo of death has to be closer to its victim. (For those of you who don't play clan matches a helo will basically just camp the other teams helo and never let it get airborne)

Bunny jumping et al. are just symptoms of good players (those who adapt and use everything short of exploits). Bunnyhopping won't go away with the patch only firing while airborne. I can't even remember if I have been shot by someone whos in the air. But I can clearly remember missing jumping persons and then getting killed by them. Don't take this as me favoring the kind of game mechanics that allow bunny jumping because I don't. But I do not, I repeat, do not whine about those who do it. I direct my whine where its due namely DICE/EA for making the rules the way they are. Jumping takes away stamina but still lets you jump if you're out. Disallow jumping without stamina and the problem would be solved. I also don't have any illusions about good players suddenly turning crap because it's some aspects of the game are changed.
