Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

All in all the patch benefits the good players more than it benefits the bad. Clan matches will also be much more interesting when the spawncamping helo of death has to be closer to its victim. (For those of you who don't play clan matches a helo will basically just camp the other teams helo and never let it get airborne)
    Offtopic- sorry.
I´d definitely want to see some clanmatches. Any demos anywhere? Ive seen one on google, which basically is what you told it looks like. A chopper camping a flag killing the spawning chopper and all infantry and hardware in it. (Dragon Valley 16P)

Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

I havent read the intire thread so this may be a repeat from someone else. I have recently been concentrating on how to bring the helos down and I have discovered that the jeep with the rotating machine gun will do it.....especially if the helo has been damaged. I have recently brought down several apaches and the MEC helicopter with just the jeep and it's rotating machine gun. I have also discovered tha the support pack works good to....not as good of course...however I just played a game on wake island and I downed two apaches. I imagine that the pilot of both these helos was very surprised.

By the way...you catch the helos while they are concentrating on armour....or even flag whoring....if you catch them by surprise...you might be surprised to get a couple kills...:)

I plane will and does take out tanks regularily with one pass. If the piolot is good he cna make getting in a tank useless.

Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

I agree with the bunnyhopping, it ruins the game when people do it, especially the dolphin diving. The people that do it rely on that method to get the number of kills they do (and dont try and say otherwise because that bull and you know it) Ok so people who bunny hop and dolphin dive probably can still kill quite well without doing it, but at least the battlefield will be more even, and it will actually LOOK and FEEL like a battlefield rather than some stuid dance club where jumping is all the rave.

I definatly die more to bunnyhoppers/dolphin divers so when its removed it will be like getting a free increase in my kill:death ration and probably score per minute, where as a decrease for those who do it.

          Which pleases me imensly

Good thing it took you only 270 hours to make those discoveries. Hopefully now you'll stop crying about the choppers, and since you can't learn to fly them, you'll do your best to shoot them down. BTW did you read my reply to you on the "Final map score" thread?

It is definitely difficult to take one down, but was it necessary to make the drastic changes such as make it succeptible to less than 5seconds of ground fire? I said once, and I will again: This will not make the pilot of the helicopter any worse off. His gunner is the one with the killing cannon.

A gunship is a deadly weapon because it is a flying tank. Something to be reckoned with. Another tactic players don't utilise often, as it never was with BF Viertnam, is the ability to point out vehicles for your teammates. If I hear a squad mate calling out a helicopter, I immediately head for their area and switch to guns instead of AA (in jets)....trust me, they will not be expecting it, and will mostly be killed.

If you find yourself in a situation where a helicopter is creeping up on your position, hide. I don't know how else to put it. You shouldn't be expected to take out the helicopter as an infantry. You can try and run for a jeep/tank, but you are giving the pilot/gunner the chance to see you. Wait to fight another day..or in this game, a minute.

You said it yourself however, that some of the pilots have hundreds of hours being pilot, and on the same note there are players with the same amount of experience that can easily form a strategy to take down the helicopter within seconds, from seperate angles. It's called utilising what the game offers you; squads, cover (trees, rocks, etc) and the awesome "Q". :)

I don't think EA/DICE is giving any advantage to the entire Battlefield community. I think they are tired of reading and hearing about how most people can't play properly without getthing an arse whooping.

The community was just as large for the first two games, and from what I recall, most of the "upgrades" and "patches" were made to add stuff to the game, not nerf the vehicles that are meant to be anti-everything killing machines. (i.e. HUEY/Cobra and the Phantom overpowering most other vehicles when flown properly)

There are tactics that can allow you and your friends to become top of the leaderboard, whether on the ground as infantry or in the air as a pilot/gunner. It's getting to know them and being able to use them against your enemy that gives you that bragging right of being on top.

The only other issue I see that kills gameplay is the "ranked" server aspect of this game. Some fools don't care about anything but how many kills they get in a game. Team? BF2 isn't a team game for them; TKing for the vehicles and complaining about everything is, however.

Some people can point out how much they actually suck by displaying the points they get in one random game. Do you expect the community to view the "lower than some" avg. score as something to be reckoned with? Personally, I don't think I will ever play these "UK" guys simply because we are in different time zones/servers, but I can tell you that they will be back on here to agree with the decisions made by EA/DICE by making idiotic remarks that even a 13yr old can dispute.

If you write on a forum, please refrain on using the same argument and "message" in every post you make, then write things like "I grow weary of this thread, change of subject" simply because you have no legit rebuttal. (most of this message wasn't meant for you Ronin581; was for the UK guys )

dont get me wrong really good pilots/gunners are still going to own, it is just their frag rates are not going to be so amazing...if your good, your good, the patch wont much matter, it will just be easier to take out the "occasional" pilot/gunner that want to run a map and farm some points giving the opportunity....this patch will not affect full time pilot/gunners that devote most all their time to choppers...

Yeah, I've spent...I need to confirm, abpproximately 121hours in a helicopter with a decent average. It's not uber awesome, but decent when you consider the amount of games I've played. :)

I just love this game, how you can fly easily enough and never have to worry about learning the entire concept to flying a jet. I have enough trying to learn Lock On: Modern Combat...man, so much to remember!! :)

I always look at the bright side of things, and I'm with whoever it was that mentioned the fact that people without any real knowledge on how to fly the helicopters won't be tempted to jump in one. It'll give us a chance to exploit our teamplay by advancing with the team ground units, give them the support they need.

It'll be an interesting adaptation, that's for sure. I know I will actually spend more time taking the helicopters/jets with the AA sites, if they're as good as I hope they are.

I know most people are gonna find this a traumatic experience, however, I'm still going to express some of my opinions...

                    1. Yes Bunnyhoppers are hard to kill.
                    2. Yes Aircraft is over powered.
                    3. Deal with it.

I mean really, bunnyhopping is only hated, because most of you noobs cant deal with it, anyone with experience or bunnyhoppers know how to deal with it! Its shocking how many people whine about it, I mean come on! Its a F***in gameplay feature, its evasion, what else are you meant to do!? 'Oh sorry, you overpower me with weapons and armour, so what i'll do, seeing as you dont like bunnyhopping and you dont know how to deal with it, i'll lay down and let you kill me'!

                    errrr.....

I do understand its fustrating, but loosing/dying always is, its very rarely if ever, you can appreciate a death, commend your opponent. So what will you do? If you suck, you suck, you gonna ask EA/DICE to patch up your lacking talent in the game!?

Also bare in mind, that most if not all of the BF2 community, use something that fustrates others massively, wether that be bunnyhopping, planes, tanks, helicopters, so you cant expect people to not use game features (because you dont use them) thats what they're there for. Sort out real bugs, not dealing with little childrens petty fustrations.

I know most people wont like hearing this, no offence was intended, however, instead of coming from a narrow minded point of view, just try a little understanding.

Not to mention killing bunnyhoppers/dolphin divers isn't hard...its just a matter of aiming.....

Ive already listed how easy it is to kill choppers in this thread....

The devs need to stop listening to all the 10 year old babies out there and fix the real bugs....

I have tried to do the bunny hopping noob toobin thing, on karkand I told myself thats all I was going to do for one full round...and while I was doing it, I just felt bad, like I was doing something wrong, I felt like I was cheating myself by using exploints that EA never intended people to use....hopping around with the nade laucher proved to me one thing.....it really does take no skill to nade someone ten feet in front of you, especially when you are in mid air....I give credit to the naders who hit people hundreds of meters away, I think that takes skill

I don't see whats the big deal with Bunny Hopin. It's been around since the days of Quake and UT. BF2 is a video game just as every other game that has come out. Being able to jump and shoot is part of this video game. This is not real life kids, its a video game. Get over it. Untill the patch comes out anyways. But sure peeps will find other stuff to complain about after this next patch.

There are tons of things about this game that annoy me. I just deal with it, adapt, over come and keep having fun

Here are demos of a European 8vs8 league.

EDIT: Some good teams: attractive, Team9, Judge Team and Logitech.fi

It is possible to play in 12vs12 leagues as well. CB had a 12vs12 international ladder. IMO 12vs12 is more fun because it's about fun not winning at all costs. 90% of the clans we play against will even honor a no baserape agreement.

Honestly, after one round of Karkand tonight, if you don't bunnyhop in close quarters, you can't possibly expect to win.

The guys I were fighting were either dashing straight forwards toward me or either going instant-prone. Me by bunnyhopping, was able to circle around them and shoot at the same time or either bunnyhop behind them and than shoot.

I was getting some easy kills until later in the round when the competition started getting tough. The guys I were encountering now utilize bunnyhopping. My god! I got pwnt!
