Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

    Congratulations helo pilots.
You are strapped inside a heavily armoured, highly maneouerable vehicle.
You have access to e rockets, TV guided missiles and chainguns.

    I play medic.
I have not so much as a flak jacket.
My most powerful weapon is an assault rifle.

Helos kill me fairly often, I don't really mind. I used to play Tribes and Tribes 2 and you learn to take a kicking from vehicles. If it's really bugging me I can spawn as support/anti-tank and probably chase you away, but realistically I will mostly get owned by helos.
How much of this is to do with skill, and how much to do with the fact I am grossly outmatched?

If you kill a chopper with your chopper I am pleased for you, you have (probably) exhibited that you are better in the chopper than other guy.

If you kill infantry with your chopper, fair enough it is part of your job, but please please don't pretend you are "pwning" them with your Ub3r L337 skills because in reality those infantry don't stand a chance.

Only when you overcome an equally matched or better opponent do you own.
This is such a ridiculous statement, choppers are greater than ground infantry, but each side gets one except in maps like ghost town where control of choppers relies on ground infantry fighting anyways....so the complaint that they are so hard to kill is negated by the fact that each side has one....

And in reality you infantry do stand a chance. Use a f*cking vodnik or humvee and choppers go down in about 7 seconds, good positioning is what its all about.

And for the record, AA as of patch 1.12 doesn't need help against CHOPPERS, against jets yes but not against choppers. When the players who aren't total noobs decide to try out some AA, they look for the chopper, wait until its hovering or not in the immediate area, and then hop in a stinger or Tungusta or whatever and just unload....Works most of the time if you shoot in the right place.

Also, with the 50 cals and the mobile AA, none of the noobs lead thier targets which leads to the belief that choppers are heavily armored, which they aren't so much.

And finally, the no one hit kill with tank thing is perfectly balanced. Most of the time I die in one hit to the tank because a vodnik or a sitinger has damaged me a bit already. Not to mention in real life the tank cannot turn its turret and elevate the gun as fast as it does in the game anyways.

This patch was made to screw choppers because all you morons who fire your assault rifles and are perfect sitting targets complain you have no chance.

Well think, use your brain next time, and maybe you will shoot me down once in the whole f*cking round....

    Planes needed the nerfing....not choppers.

Wow, your post was a great argument for people that are total f*cking a$$holes that can't play the game worth $hit, and just want to complain because they have no skill in certain areas of the game such as flying and so therefore feel compelled to b1tch about it until the devs patch the game to fit your little perfect world...

FYI I have skill on the ground with an assault rifle, and have gotten plenty A gold medals on karkand shooting nothing but a g36E....

Its people like you who want to complain complain complain because EVERYTHING is a noob weapon/vehicle and eventually we all run around throwing water balloons at each other and singing songs....

I give you perfect reasoning of why choppers are not overpowered and all you can say is basically: OMG YOU HAVE NO SKILLZ, GO LEARN TO SHOOT AN ASSAULT RIFLE.

Yeah...THATS a convincing argument for your case....

In what sense is some guy in a vodnik infantry?
I might as well claim to be infantry if I am in a tank, a helo or any other vehicle.

Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

Choppers are more powerful than infantry. True.

If someone rides in a chopper for a whole round they will probably get more points than infantryman. True.

Choppers and all vehicals add detail stratagy to the game of Battlefield 2. I don't think people would give a **** about choppers if the aa worked. I don't think they would give a **** if they weren't so jealous of gunner scores.

                    Overpowered = jealous of points.

People do whine to much in this game. Dude was right about people comming from other games with no vehicles. BF series is about air. land, and boat. It's got it all on big maps, that's why it's great. People should quit being such soreheads and just grab what ever tool you like and get some flags and shut the **** up.

Oh ya and I am a hypocrit cuz of my sig. I just really miss when an engineer could kick some ass back in the day. (sigh)

Re: bunny hoppers and helo pilots

I think I may start a "strategy guide for idiots" thread:

                      Here are some examples:

                      Infantry:

                      - When in presence of a helicopter, do not attempt to shoot at it with a weapon other than a AT. If you do, you will most certainly give away your position (marked as red on the pilot/gunner's HUD)

                      - When you are capturing a point and you are certain the enemy is dead, leave the white flag area for approximately 10seconds and listen: if you hear art. strike commencing, it is most likely for you. If you look up, you should be able to evaluate where the bombers/jets/helicopters are. If you check your mini-map, you should be able to see where your friends are, in case of an emergency

                      - When you are faced against a squad (more than 2 ppl), don't shoot. Don't give away your position, instead, follow them and slowly decide your tactic. IF you are lucky, you should be able to have time to request an artillery strike, UAV. If not, then don't go in expecting to win, unless you are carrying C4 and know how to toss it properly.

                      - If you are a lone soldier and notice you are getting no kills and getting killed more often than none, join or create a squad. You'd be surprised at how your team can help you, and vice-versa

                      Jeep and variants:

                      - If you are being followed by a helicopter, do not drive in a straight line. Drive through trees, stop, and switch to the gunner position. You have a good chance of hurting the helicopter really badly. If it hasn't done enough damage, jump out of the jeep and hide until you are either safe or your friends distract him...either way, don't be dumb and sit in the jeep they know is there

                      - Don't park the vehicle in an obvious place when awaiting for a helicopter to attack. They have a little camouflage; cover it in trees, crevaces, top of hills, etc

                      APC/Tank:

                      - If you are capturing a point with bomber threats, get out of your vehicle once you know the enemy is not preventing you from capturing. Always try and have a gunner or passenger; best if they are in your squad and on VoIP. This prevents the bomber on getting a fixed lock on you when coming in for a run.

                      - If you notice a bunch of red on your top left HUD, then your team is being pummeled. How about staying back about 10-20 feet and cover fire..before you move in and get taken out by C4 or mines.

                      - If you are using the tank and respawn only to still have it available, consider using an engineer kit. If you have another intelligent squad member or team member with the same thought, you drive by each other and are almost indestructable.

                      Attack helicopters:

                      - Don't hover unless you are certain the vicinity is clear. If you get hit once, move and evaluate the environment. If you cannot find the enemy, it does not mean he has dissapeared, it means he is hiding and waiting for a clear shot. Ask for UAV and/or wait for reinforcements. If your gunner is intelligent, he will jump out and see if he can do anything.

                      - As a gunner: DO NOT SHOOT TANKS/APC WITH YOUR GUN. Aim and try with the TV guided. Do not however, stay in TV guided mode. It only takes 1 sec to switch back when necessary.

                      - This is the most important rule: Stay high in the air. No matter which vehicle is aiming for you, there is a lesser chance of being taken out by AA, tanks, jeeps, AT rockets, etc. You can always get your gunner a good line-up by angling and diving. (this is what the ppl complaining will never be able to stop; proper flight patterns) The AA will be more precise supposedly, so consider learning the AA points and move appropriately.

                      - Remember that the only people that can't harm you in a helicopter are those that complain about your "skills" as a pilot: Those that are a threat against you are those that can evaluate what you will do with the chopper, and will call you out so their buddies can also aim for you and shoot you down. There are some people that will sit in jeeps in specific areas actually waiting to take you and your gunner out. So, in other words, there is already an easy way to take out a helicopter, they are not invicible. Shoot them when they least expect it. Simple. Effective, and defnitely does not require a patch to help you out.

                      Transport helo:

                      - As a pilot, always face forward until you see at least one enemy, then turn your helicopter in a half circle with a fast hover to have your gunners take out or call out the enemy. Once you are within the 50-60% mark of your helicopter health, forget about it and go get fixed up.

                      - Don't hover anything lower than 15feet, three reasons: allows for proper HALO jump, prevents C4 stickies on your chopper, and gives less chance for the enemy to kill your passengers! :)

                      Jets:

                      - Don't fly into the ground, and you shouldn't have a problem.

Now, I know this "little list" is a little long (forgive the pun), but it's to essentially point out things I learned and am sharing. I personally think that the only flaw in this game are the jets being able to avoid almost anything. They should have "nerfed" the jets rather than the helicopters, they are a much bigger threat.

Helicopters don't frighten me, all it takes is a little patience, 6-7 seconds of continuous or short burst rounds from a jeep/tank, and he will run away. I figure with the next patch you could probably do it with an M16, but I guess that's what the people not able to cope, want.

As for that idiot that keeps saying "chopper whores" and "you're afraid because you can't do anything but fly", with nothing valid to say...I see it as the opposite. I can shoot and kill like anyone that plays FPS games. The reason BF is so special, is the fact that you can continue to shoot even after your helo gets shot down. So, if say, you shoot my helicopter down, does that mean you get a kill? Nope, it simply means I will approach you and take you out once I land. It's not 100% certain I can accomplish this, but it is a possiblity.

Like I said, I will continue to fly without too many issues, I'll just make sure to take out the vehicles before they can be used against me. It's called "coping"

                      PEACE

I don't think choppers are overpowered, just over-armored. If I can hit a chhopper with a tank round it should be destroyed, ditto with an AA missile. If I am in a Vodnik and get a nice broadside burst into the side of the helo with a .50 cal, the pilot should be running for mama, not turning, locating my position, and then flying toward me with missiles blazing, all the while being peppered with a .50 cal. It violates the general "he who sees first and hits first wins the battle" gameplay.
