If you dont want to play, go quit, nobody wil miss you.

You can take down jets if you are in a jet, if you refuse to fly, well, its like a guy seeing a tank and just refuse to use the anti tank kit, too bad, go back to your counter strike.

Refusing to fly is not always an option.. It is very common for 1 or 2 people to hog the plane(s). And it appears to be an unwritten agreement among pilots that they will not spend much time hunting each other down, so they can just bomb and strafe ground targets in peace.

I said good teamwork. That involves your teams planes providing air cover instead of point farming.

        Glad we agree!
Yeah we agree that the teamwork of two good pilots can negate the collective teamwork of another full 32 player team.

AIRCRAFT ARE DESIGNED TO BE THE BEST. You guys that think infantry should have a fair chance against jets are WRONG.

This is the BF2 food chain: infantry < armor < helicopters < jets

If you're getting owned by a jet it's because you simply have less skill. Please get over it before you ruin this game by giving infantry a 50/50 chance at taking down a multimillion dollar jet.

Only if that 32 player team is stupid enough to leave their jets useless. That's what they're there for. The other team has no air cover, of course you're going to negate their team because they don't have any effort to defend themselves. In such a case, they deserve to be killed as far as I'm concerned. There should at least be a jet up keeping you occupied enough so that you have to focus on him instead, if not, it's NOT the fault of the planes, but the people on the team that aren't using them.

In the land of online gaming, it's a given that games will come and go. BF2 will run its course and we'll move on. I personally will keep playing BF2 until it is no longer fun for me...that time has not come yet. As for the servers being less packed with players...I haven't seen it - yet. Most of the ones I like to play on are always crowded. Anyway...there are many games coming in the future and I look forward to killing each and everyone of you in them as well.

OH NO I KEEP GETTTING KILLED BY PLANES AND WANT TO QUIT BECAUSE THEY GET BETTER SCORES THAN ME!!

geeze you guys cry alot... if your sick of getting gunned down, get out of the open! if you can get 2 or 3 AA rockets hitting a plane they will blow up... the secret of not sucking at AA it firing before the flares are dropped OR firing when the flares are out of your view.... *every one hits heads*'ohhh thats how you do it'

im not a good pilot... i cant seem to hit people with the machine guns but all least when i get killed by one i dont cry and quit the game... im sure you've died more times by infantry then by planes or choppers...

hey you could always play maps like strike at karkand... where there you noobs cant be killed by planes... there are none!

We were taking out their jets. Their ground forces did their job and held the entire map. The idea is our two great pilots killed enough people to win the map even though the other team held all flags for nearly the entire round.

No way. The US will not get a ticket drain just from 2 f-35s killing everything they can with no flags. You could have 50 kills a piece and you aren't going to drain tickets fast enough. If the MEC have all the flags and they are killing stuff to maintain the flags, they will get the drain moving pretty fast after awhile. The US must have had flags throughout the round or the MEC weren't shooting back. Flags and kills equal ticket drain. No flags and kills equal high individual scores.

Re: Why many people are quitting BF2 for good -- it's not fun anymore

There have been many good posts representing both sides (and some posts that are people just venting either for or or against air superiority).
I do think that air power is overpowered but only because the only counter is enemy airpower.
Lowering the armor on planes and helos isn't a fix at all. The AA needs to be improved, both the stationary and mobile AA units.
Someone remarked about the BF2 food chain and I agree 100%. Planes should own; HOWEVER...a single plane flying past multiple AA posts and dodging dozens of AA rockets is absurd. Sorry Maverick and Iceman, this ain't possible.
I actually am quite proficient at shooting down helos with the AA and I can occasionaly hold my own against planes (overall I'm 2:1 k/d ratio), but as I'm playing the "team" role and trying to shoot down the enemies while all the other players are waiting for the planes/helos to spawn I will hit firendlies on the sky and get punished. I get punished for trying to HELP my team and the stupid AA rockets can't track for **** and I peg a friendly. This is a huge detterent for anyone manning the AA.
What really needs to be fixed is the punish ability for tk's. Hundreds of times (i'm not exaggerrating) I've seen people stand in front of friendly planes taking off or jumping onto the rotors of helos and then punishing the poor pilots when they die. It was their own foolish actions that got them killed and they do this deliberately so they can punish the pilots.
I also read that they are going to reduce the number of rockets on the attack helos. Pfft. Again....all they need to do is improve the AA and everyone's happy. I have a hard time seeing even the diehard aviators having a problem with better AA for the sake of the game.

                            Love,
                            No one loves you, Die.

they shouldnt make the planes or helicopters any weaker of they would be ****. im with you that its the AA that needs improvement... if anything. personally im happy the way it is. i jsut dont like the guys who want to get rid of everything because there getting a crap score... i mean, its obvious that tanks and planes and stuff will get more kills than people walking around.. its just common sence.. people should be tryin to master the vehicles for them selves instead of crying that there too strong...

Is this your strongest argument? That the game is designed to please the 3-4 people that manage to grab an air vehicle first?

                                Let me get this straight:

                                1. Run, TK or do whatever you have to do to get in that air vehicle.

                                2. Everyone else deal with it.

                                Fun, fun, fun.

My advice to you is to go find an air-based game. BF2 is about the ground war. You seem to think the poor ole infantry needs to deal with it. Need I remind you that infantry in the larger sense consists of:

                                special forces
                                sniper
                                assault
                                engineer
                                medic
                                support
                                AT

That's 7 types of people interacting on the ground. Let's add some vehicles to round out the ground war such as APCs, jeeps, tanks, etc.

Now, let's go back to your point: one pilot up in the air should be able to utterly destroy everything on the ground with impunity.

Then what is the point of playing? Hoping for that one air vehicle? If you dont get it, exit the game and find another map? If you do get it, sit back and enjoy the sissy points that come from being invincible?

You suggest that people getting owned by a jet simply have less skill. One jet can take out 50-80 people on a map easily. Is the suggestion that the entire team all focus on bringing down that jet? Is that the definition of teamwork because it seems like that invites flag captures en masse by the enemy since the other team is preoccupied trying to bring down the single jet.

Your use of caps notwithstanding, your analysis of the situation is wrong....or as you like to see it written, WRONG.
