Um well see both xbox and comp has that and if you played halo 2 even once online youd know the massive hacks/bugs in it. Think modded weapons in ranked game that have 100% accuracy paired with super jump about 50 times so they killed you on average 1.73 seconds after spawn (duration averaged by halo.bungie.org forums out of 150 games). But there are people that are generaly very good at the game as well. Halo 2 sucked ass online for a period because of that.

Not sure if the original poster is still wanting opinions. I went out & bought the X850XT & it is sweet. I didn't have PCI-e capability on this comp so I went with the X850XT AGP. Very very nice. I payed 400 also. I was sure surprised that the price hasn't dropped ANY. Kinda glad though! You won't be disapointed & it will be able to handle the future games for a while. (when I say a while, i mean hopefully at least 1 1/2 to 2 yrs) Of course when I bought it I had to upgrade my PSU to a 400+ WATT. Love it. BF2 & SF runs flawlessly. I plan on getting another gig of RAM & I will have no probs running maxed graphics & great FPS. I have all settings on Med except high Geometry & shadows on low. I get 80FPS on a full 64 man server. When I get into gunner position on a jeep with the driver doing full speed, I get about 55FPS. Did I mention that I really like this card?

This guy knows what he is talking about. AGP Card don't and won't come better than this. Only cards better are/will be PCI-E.

What? I have an AMD 64 3400 with 1.5 gig of ram.. water cooled, and a crappy ati all in wonder 128 ... spent less than 2000. a year and a half ago.. no problem whatsoever on the game. at all.

Consoles are great for sitting in your living room with friends, eating pizza and having a smoke, but they don't provide the same intense personal gaming experience or interaction as online PC games.
I regularly go head to head with my 6 yr old son at Sonic Battles or whatever on his Nintendo Gamecube, but I wouldn't dream of buying a console for myself, especially as I've spent approx £600 this year upgrading the two PCs in the house.

A brand new ATI card came out... It beat the Nvidia card (GTX 7800) in 4 out out of 7 gaming tests. The ATI X1800 XT... Hello Christmas!

THen I hear people who have virtual supercomputers (AMD watercooled systems with SLI technology) complaining about poor framerates. In addition with the poor engine that this game is built on plus the plethora of hackers out there - I decided that it's absolutely silly to dump so much money for this silly game (although I love it!).

I think I'd rather wait for the XBOX 360 and the XBOX 360 version of this game. THe XBOX 360 is virtually equivalent to a pretty decent gaming machine that'll yield at least 4x Anti-Aliasing plus you can play on High Definition. The other great thing is that you won't have to worry too much about hackers.

Call it sacreligious (among die hard PC gamers perspective) but I think it's probably the best option from both a cost point of view.

well I have a pretty decent system and still get tearing and lag in BF2 - not in any other game tho. I think it's the programming or something in BF2.

Hell, F.E.A.R. runs brilliantly for me - it only lags when I max everything out to ridiculous resolutions - which most cards cant support in FEAR anyways.

Cost of an ATI 850XT PE - $400
                                Cost of an XBOX 360 - $400

                                NFS UG2 @ 1600x1200 4xAA 12XAF
                                or
                                XBOX HD resolution?

No comparison for image quality. The XBOX 360 isn't GOING to be surpassed my PC graphics, I WAS surpassed over a year ago.
Plus my $60 PC games don't charge me monthly to play.
