Re: Forget about new video card or system XBOX 360

I have to say most of you people in this post are freaking retarded as well as the fact this is in the wrong section of the forums. 360 isnt a alternative for a computer its just another way to play games like the ps3 and if you have posted here saying comp games rule so why get one if you up your system you need to die since this is a bf2 forum and almost everyone posting can play it, a top of the line game. Consoles are only about exclusives that arent on pcs and controlers give different feeling in playing since many people play BOTH.

Yeah I hear what your sayng.
Im just tiered of the noobs that only have 360 and feel cempeled to tell me how GREAT the graphics are and how the shadows look and clothing...movments....blah blah blah.
Then I feel compeled to tell them What Xbox has campared to what can be gained from a PC.
But if you realy feel compeled to upgrade your Xbox (Another pluss for PC),
Hang your power supply in the air. Aparently this will stop it from melting to the floor.

        3) I'd rather play with noobs and kiddies rather than playing with hackers and script kiddies.

        4) Yes, the xbox 360 will be passed in technology and power in a few months by more powerful PCs but it's a difference between paying $500 vs. paying $500 and $4000 for the next latest and greatest video card or a new PC machine (JUST TO PLAY BF2? Forget it!).

        5) Unless EA improves the engine that it's built upon - you'll always need a better video card for every subsequent release of BF2.

        Just my humble opinion.
Do what I do with hardware, especially graphics cards. Wait until the next hottest card comes out, and buy the one that WAS the hottest card, as the price usually drops quite a bit.

I got the 6600gt when either the 7800gt or 6800gt came out (cant remember which) and I paid like 150 for it on Newegg. I was gonna get the 800, but found out the 6600gt was more powerful and a bit cheaper. The guy at best buy where I was looking at cards almost sold me on a 700 saying it was a good card for the price, while it was like 200.

Hardware for PCs is too fast to be able to afford to keep up with everything (for me at least) and until I get my bills paid off, Im not gonna be looking into anything too goo any time soon, but you bet your ass Im gonna go an grab 2 7800s and a new MoBo that supports SLI. Maybe dump the cash into a 10k rpm HD for my games as well. I wish they made it with larger capacity though, and by then, who knows, they just might.

Personally, Im waiting for the Xbox to drop its price before I grab it. Right now I have no real rush to get it. I enjoy playing my xbox more than PC only because I can lay on my bed and be as comfy as I want in diff positions. Plus, Ill always have fond memories of playing Halo 2 and getting head from my girlfriend at the same time. Its harder to do that on a PC.

          the irony here is great

complaining about how a video game is made and saying that the xbox360 is the magical savior of gaming when infact the xbox360's are defective....

You're all falling for the mythical concept that you have to upgrade your PC every time new hardware comes out. This is just plain and simply not true and completely unrealistic and impractical. The 6800 line of Nvidia stuff has been out for what, 2 years now? And games that are coming out these days, including BF2, were developed to run on that family of cards!!! No game out there at the moment requires you to have a 7800 video card, and probably still won't for a little while yet. If you're building a brand new machine, by all means, buy the new stuff. But if you plan ahead a little bit, you really can get a good 2 or 3 years out of your video card without having to replace it. When you start getting behind with the graphics, then you get a new one. For god's sake, let the software you want to run dictate what hardware you buy, because doing it the other way around is just plain stupid.

By the way, on a side note, I was watching someone play Call of Duty 2 on an XBox 360 with HDTV over the weekend, and it looked like pure ass compared to a PC game.

THen I hear people who have virtual supercomputers (AMD watercooled systems with SLI technology) complaining about poor framerates. In addition with the poor engine that this game is built on plus the plethora of hackers out there - I decided that it's absolutely silly to dump so much money for this silly game (although I love it!).

I think I'd rather wait for the XBOX 360 and the XBOX 360 version of this game. THe XBOX 360 is virtually equivalent to a pretty decent gaming machine that'll yield at least 4x Anti-Aliasing plus you can play on High Definition. The other great thing is that you won't have to worry too much about hackers.

Call it sacreligious (among die hard PC gamers perspective) but I think it's probably the best option from both a cost point of view.

I heard that the Xbox was having trouble with crashes and instability. May not be comon but I would hate to spend $500+ dollars on an xbox that might not even work. Also the games aren't that good on it now. Wait a while until more come out and the prices go down. By the way if you're going to spend $400+ dollars you might as well get something that has more functunality. Right?

I don't think alot of people know what "Saving up" means. They don't think they'll have to upgrade so they'll just stick with CS 1.6. For young people, I understand. They can't get a job, but they can do chores and save up their allowance.

However, for older people I don't understand. You have a job. If you can't save up, then try and build up. Buy a case, then a screen, then a MOBO, etc. It's not that hard. Just have patience.

And i'm not a pc only guy either. I've been playing on consoles since the nintendo. I don't think either is better, but only in category's. PCs are better for RTS and FPS games. Consoles are better for adventure and racing games.

Yeah there have been alot of problems hardware wise with the 360.

Someone mentioned it earlier, building your own comp IS the way to go.

I don't know dude I think going against hackers is better then playing with noobs on analog sticks...hackers are anoying as hell but at least they offer a challenge, do noobs do that?
