I would buy it but I don't agree with EA games marketing strategy. I still think they ruined the game I purchased. Thats the only reason I'm mad about this thing.

If it weren't for the marketing I would probably take your advise and buy it. I wouldn't rush to the store or anything but I would pay the $30.

We're almost 'forced' to buy this addon just to keep up with the others and that's not fair for the gamer. This is what ticks me off about EA, they're just buying out titles without caring about the gamer at all anymore. I've totally disassociated EA from computer games now. EA is a money whorin company who just has profits in mind. Remember EA.. we're the ones who made u rich.

Well Sherlock, so far basically every game I played that featured an expansion (and I play video games since 15 years+) allowed you to keep on playing the original game without giving ppl who bought the expansion an advantage or trashing the original game.
Just imagine Starcraft or Diablo expansions with ppl suddenly running around with the new units/weapons in the original game on Battle.net . That´s what happens to BF2, they´re killing the original BF2 gameplay. It´s not that I can´t afford SF, I just don´t want flashbangs, ziplines and that crap.



No, it is not simple, as I already bought BF2, to play the game like experienced in the demo, on ranked servers. This won´t be possible in the future anymore, as there´ll be flashbangs and new unlocks changing the gameplay.
If SF didn´t change vanilla BF2 I could care less and would agree to your "if you don´t want it don´t buy it" line. But fact is, I don´t want it, but I´ll get a part of it even though I don´t want it.

EDIT: There aren't seperate servers for the same map but different games. SF players play on regular bf2 servers for the regular bf2 maps. They can use everything but tear gas, grappling hooks and zip lines.

No... SF servers have everything... they just cant run BF2 maps with SF maps..

Just FYI, no one is screwed. Having spent a good amount of time testing, I can vouch that the new weapons are not any better than what we have now.

And $30 is a lot to pay for the pleasure of chucking flashbangs.

Save your money. Wait for mods. Everyone will be playing them eventually anyway.

Why should the basic game change at all because they introduce SF? I bought BF2 to play BF2, not BF2:SF. Now if I don't fork out some more dough to support those greedy bastards at EA, I have a disadvantage. It makes no difference if it is a minor advantage or a huge advantage, it's an advantage none the less. I didn't want SF when they announced it and nothing has changed in that department. I won't support EA any further than my original purchase.

BTW If everyone decided it would be best to jumped off the golden gate, you'd be right there with em.

The way i see it; If you paid $30 dollars for the BF-SF, then you should have $30 dollars more fun that those who didn't purchase the expansion..

We as non SF owners should continue playing on the 1.03 version with our vanilla BF2 counterparts.

I wonder if EA would accept the protest and remove the flashbag, which is really the only thing people are worried about. The other guns are fun but intruth no more effective than the existing ones so would not alter the gameplay.

Either that or attach the flashbang to the G3 unlock to or something to make it usable by everyone...

I think its an unfair advantage that the other guys have $3000 computers that run BF2 in all ulta high with 120fps and I run it on Med at 40 fps...gives them an advantage... everyone should send me a $3000 computer so I can be equal

Umm...most games do come with expansion packs for a game and their is whining now? Look at Ofp. Then the expansion "Resistance". And their is mods like crazy. Mechwarrior 4: Two mech packs (5 in each and a few maps). Ghost Recon: Desert Seige. Rainbow6 (Big list).
