A hack is defined as an unfair advantage.
Having these is an unfair advantage.
They have paid for this.
Some people think this is a legal "hack" giving some players an unfair advantage over the other just because they paid for it. This is not something that happens much in the FPS genre. Maybe in MMORPGS, but this is not something the community is used to.Comment

I think the only real issue is the flash bangs. I really don't care too much about the other weapons, even if they are a bit more powerfull. However, the flash bangs are a significant advantage. Also, as someone else pointed out, they can't be thrown far enough away. Last night I would stand 50 yards or so away from a friend who was facing the oppisite direction. Had him throw the flash bang away from him, and I still get blinded, even though I'm very far away and facing the oppisite direction. It doesn't help that they get four of the things either.
Even this though, I can get over. If one wants to buy SF, then that's great. When Road to Rome came out for BF1942, people bought it and did their own thing. I didn't have to play on Kursk and worry about some stupid stealth bomber flying over. RTR didn't sell that well (because it wasn't worth the money), so the next time around, EA figured that they would just make it so that all the new weapons in SF would be playable in BF2, for the sole purpose of boosting sales.
I can get over the weapons, and I can even get over the flash bangs, but I do care about getting pushed around by a company.
However, I'm not going to stop playing the game, since unlocks are not allowed in leauge play anyway. I just makes pubbing more annoying.
I'm sure there are pleanty of non-EA servers out there that will start running with unlocks disabled.Comment

every game i have played that brings in an expansion brings in new toys
it's simple people if u dont want it dont buy the damn game but dont cry when some one who did got the new toys adapt overcome play better
and as for powerful canadian political families that in itself is a contridiction in terms and if it true get bent you spoiled son of rich kids get your power parents to buy you the sf game and go play stop wasting time about an online game that if you are really good at and have a dollar u can buy a cup of coffee
it's a computer game people it dont ammount to nothing if u suck at it or own in it
i have good times and crappy times but all in all i like playing if you are a sore loser dont play then u never have to worry about loosing

Well Sherlock, so far basically every game I played that featured an expansion (and I play video games since 15 years+) allowed you to keep on playing the original game without giving ppl who bought the expansion an advantage or trashing the original game.Originally posted by Gergnoodle

I know, I was referring to the reasons why I never intended getting SF (and don´t do so despite the crap EA has put upon us with SF). Those included ziplines, grappling hook and flashbangs, as I think those items take away from gameplay and "realism".Comment

Seriously grow up, its not like the new weps give anyone a huge advantage, I have SF and I rarely use the flashbang anways. If you suck at bf2 already then buying sf isn't gonna make you a god....
30$...jeez its not that much if you really care that much...
EDIT: There aren't seperate servers for the same map but different games. SF players play on regular bf2 servers for the regular bf2 maps. They can use everything but tear gas, grappling hooks and zip lines.Comment

Umm not all this means is that people that bought SF will play on regular servers because they like maps like sharqi, wake island karkand, etc...LAME!... all this means is that ppl who have SF and are also s will play on BF2 servers just to **** everyone off...Comment

I am almost 100% positive that the new unlocks for vanilla BF2 are for everyone hence why they show up in BFHQ and they are not for every kit....Just look the assualt unlock is a flashbang which is standard fare in BF2: SF.... There is no disadvantage to anyone.... Kidies I tell ya Kidies...that and people that dont bother to read official releases or use common sense for that matter
