Re: We as non SF owners are screwed!!!

Let me get this straight--you guys are complaining that you don't get the expansion pack content because you didn't buy the expansion pack? Are you serious?

Look, I don't work for EA, and I don't necessarily support their customer service procedures, but I know how business works. You have to sell stuff to stay alive. If you don't sell stuff, your business dies. It's a simple formula. EA charged you $50 for a game that is about as addictive as heroin that you've been playing since the summer with FREE online access, and you're complaining that you can't have the expansion content for free? You've got to be kidding me! If you want to get in on the Special Forces stuff, go buy the expansion pack!!

I've never seen so many people whine and complain about a game that they haven't even bought or played!

i think most ppl who are complaining here are not talkin about the fact that they cant get SF guns, but the fact that EA/DICE allows SF owners play on vanilla bf2 servers. that kind of "merging" may seem good to them considering the marketing strategies. but it's obviously a wrong step for the original bf2 players. it makes the game slightly unfair.

Goddam, for the hundredth time: Most people complain because they get expansion pack content ( in an unfair and wrong way) despite them don“t wanting or buying it.

I have to agree that SF players using SF weapons in BF2 is retarded, been flashed a couple of times now, and I don't have SF...:thatsbad:

You do know that the base of SF was in the latest patch... I have no idea what is on the "SF DVD", but it ain't the weapons as they came with the new patch...

Re: We as non SF owners are screwed!!!

If you brought a BF1942 expansion and played on an expansion pack server, you get the goodies. If you play on a non-expansion pack server, you get no expansion pack goodies. If you just have BF1942, you cannot play on expansion pack servers and normal BF1942 servers are unchanged.

If you buy BF2:SF and play on a SF server you get goodies. If you play on a non-SF server, you get some expansion pack goodies. If you just play BF2 you cannot play on BF2:SF servers, but if you play on a normal BF2 server (1.12 patched), you see some of the SF goodies, but cannot spawn with them.

EA's point of view: BF2 ppl will see the goodies and want them, so will spend money to get them.

BF2 gamer's point of view: SF ppl get goodies but I don't. I can spend money to get some new weapons, or I can experience the weapons being used on me wherever I play. If I dont patch to 1.12 I can play BF2 as it was, but miss out on some bug fixes.

SF gamer's point of view: Goodies are shiny, I can use them on BF2 people but they can't on me, unless they get me first. I can play on SF maps where I can use more goodies, but everyone there will have the same options available (if they play for long enough to get unlocks) to get me.

The BF2 player is at a disadvantage both ways: if they don't patch, they miss out on bug fixes; If they patch, other players start off with weapons unavailable to them, which may or may not be better, but SF ppl still get flashbangs, which only smoke grenade weakly compares.

IMO: Allow pure BF2:SF servers, pure BF2 server and BF2 with SF content available to BF2 and SF gamers. OR: allow BF2:SF and BF2 players to spawn as SF class, which is the only one that features new content.

Heres a little something my dad told me:

Instead of being "good" by having superior equipment, try to be good "good", using sneaky tactics, guerilla warfare etc.

Simply, if someone has a "super weapon", a skilled player would simply use his skill to kill him instead of relying on his equipment.

You mean the tools that were released as beta months after the game and still don't include the ability to edit/create SP maps?
