Here's the deal plain and simple. Ive played Karkand w/o being assault or using my "special gun" and Ive been flashed...it ISNT a big deal people. Had that flash been a grenade you would be DEAD.

Sure you can argue the when in a tank you are flashed and cant see (grenade wouldnt kill you in a tank) and that gives time to destroy you when there would have been no time before but this is a tad far fetched (assault cant destroy a tank, would require team work) to complain this much about the unfairness of the bang.


I see this whole "its unfair that they get this! EA is the DEVIL" thing to just be stupid and really not worth the time of me typing this. If I didnt have the expansion I would feel the same and if it really was a big deal as it seems to be with some people around here Im SURE that there would be servers without the patch or servers that disables unlocks..... go there. You have choices you know...but the best one... move on and stop focusing on what the other guy has. My friend has 3 PC's that can run circles around mine but Im not complaining to him about my unfair treatment in life


Im done with this whole thing.. Ill play the game and enjoy it and hope that those who are complaining just buy the expansion and/or just stop bitching about it or how EA is so VERY evil (Ignoring the fact its DICE that did this evil evil thing to them)

I just got a friend to unlock play 10 seconds on a ranked server and unlock me 3 new weapons!

The new toys or unlocks you get from SF are not overpowered. people just get angry when they get killed by a weapon which they do not have.

The flash bombs are not that different from a smoke grenade. you can run out of it if you know where you were looking initially.

There are some errors in this chart, for example G36E and AK101 standing dev (at least when I saw it yesterday on PBF). Fact remains though that those stats don´t take into account scopes and associated disabled muzzleflash on some weapons, as well as the "feel" of the gun. As we know bare stats aren´t everything, if and in how far the new weapons are better than the old ones will only be revealed in the next weeks. This goes especially for flashbangs, for whom ppl are still discovering how to use them best (especially against vanilla BF2 players who don´t have them).

The numbers are correct for those two weapons in standing dev. I did not change them since I posted them for the first time. I just verified them right now and they are correct. However, I wont claim that this chart is 100% accurate. maybe I missed something here or there.

You are right the G36C is supposed to be 1.5 not 0.5 that is a typo I guess. I will corerct it ASAP. However, the Ak-101 dev is correct.

Fool? You feel special because you can go buy a game off the shelf and talk **** to people. For your information I already have SF and pretty much any other game I want. As far as giving them out I have already given out BF2: SF to over 6 other people privately and I have hosted it on other warez sites where I am an administrator. The only reason I erased my post here is because no one knows what is actually legal and they probably would have banned me for "illegal activity".

You must feel really proud of yourself. You go work hard, come home, go to the store and get ripped off on a game. Then work some more, go buy the expansion pack and get jipped out of your money again...

Player with Special Forces uses the "retreive" account feature, and uses a nickname and password to put the account of the other player on their PC.

The SF player goes into a SF server, plays for a bit (maybe 10 mins should be enough), and then logs out and in again.

The unlock menu should pop up, and giving you the same amount of unlocks as you already have in vanilla.

You can use the unlocks to get the unlocks for Vanilla you still need (I used my last one on the Support unlock instead of the MP7), and also to unlock some special forces weapons in Vanilla.

F2000 is Assault, and probably the best new weapon. This gives you Flashbangs as well, plus a very accurate single shot\automatic weapon, with a grenade launcher. I'll be using this whenever I use assault, and especially on USMC. All the rumours about this being rapage are true. I once destroyed 6 people around a flag using this gun. Well, 5 with the gun, and 1 with a pistol.

Scar-L I think is special ops, it is very accurate, and has a redot scope like on the MEC\USMC special ops weapons. I am not sure if I will use this all the time, hav'ent played alot. Seems resonably powerfull, will be a tough decision between vanilla unlock and SF unlock.

G36E is the medic Sf gun, I did'nt realise I had this (confused because ofthe MP7 unlock icon, and was unlocked for me by the guy who did the SF stuff for me). I just had a quick go, it seems quite powerful (easily more powerful than vanilla unlock, but probably less than the MEC gun), but is 3 burst and single shot only. Will reward the accuracte shooter. I killed alot of people in a short time with this.

MP7 I did'nt unlock. It's for the Engi in Vanilla, but in SF it's for Anti-Tank and Engineer. Strange, though, it's icon for "class" in the unlock menu was medic.

I unlocked the RPK (Support unlock?) with my last unlock, so I have not tried the SF support unlock.

All in all, the new weapons seem more accurate, and is something I hope Dice\Ea improve the other weapons as well. It seems less about random chance than who has the most skill.

Any thoughts on the other unlocks? I will say this "taste" of SF is quite nice, I hope reviews are positive too.

The SCAR-L only excels beyond the normal Spec Ops weapons in close combat. At range, the M4 and G36C (and even the AKS-74U, to a degree) are far more accurate.

The G36E is a marked improvement over almost everything if you can handle the 3-round burst, and if you can live without the L85's scope.

The MP7 is best used on single shot at range, and has issues up close. Choose based on the map and your style of engineer.

FN2000 is a fantastic long range assault rifle - it has a good scope and great single shot accuracy. I've never been a GL whore, so it doesn't much matter to me.

Haven't played the MG36.
