Re: We as non SF owners are screwed!!!

    EA is a dirty imperialism!

I was playing wake island on a 32 player server, at the first second when USMC spawns on carrier some 13 year old flashes everyone on the carrier, not affecting him, and then rushes to any vehicle he wants first since everybody else is blinded. What do you all think of that shít?

Well this comparison is flawed, like most of those by the SF-fanboys.
You fail to grasp the "why" of the "whining" as you call it.
Fact is, when I (and many others) bought BF2 I wanted to have the
gameplay as presented in the demo, with equal conditions for all
players. I knew beforehand that there are people with fast 3000$
computers having a little advantage, but I consciously and deliberately
decided that I accept this and buy the game nevertheless.
I never intended to buy the expansion as I don´t like some of the new
gameplay elements (Flashbangs especially) and expansion are generally
wasted money (as seen in BF1942).
But now enter BF2:SF. What no one expected happened: Suddenly expansion
players can use the new stuff, while the vanilla BF2 players are forced
to stick to their old stuff and get their game changed.
My main gripe with it is how EA wants to force people to buy the patch.
The funny thing is how many ppl here even follow that road and post
      stuff like "It´s only 30$".
Yeah it is only 30$, but
-I don´t want the patch and the stuff it brings.
-30$ for 5 unlocks and some flashbangs is expensive.
-giving 30$ more to EA in face of the huge list of bugs in the original
game and their trying to force ppl to buy stuff is just plain retarded.

There are also new maps in the exp.pack which are really good maps and worth the money alone. I can't understand the people who are complaining here if some OTHER people are going to/bought the exp.pack. EA isn't trying to FORCE you to buy anything. You want the new stuff, you pay for it. If you don't, you still have the same old game.

Either that or attach the flashbang to the G3 unlock to or something to make it usable by everyone...
Flashbang IS attached to the G3 unlock -- however you have to be a Special Forces owner for that to work. It just replaces the Smoke Grenade.

We definatly have different opinions on what the term "uber weapon" means.
Seriously. It's a little flash in the face.
Noobtoobs are still the most "uber" Kark-farming tool.

No I'd have to disagree with that Wargimp

There's a difference between a little flash in the face and:

                1) Being completely blind for approx. 6S
                2) Having no sound
                3) Having no radar [even after vision starts coming back]
                4) Being in a tank / apc and wondering 'wtf why can't I see ****!'

Did you also know that you can tell if someone has been flashed as soon as the explosive goes boom?

Did you know that a single noobtoob roud can take out 5 guys?
I'd rather be blind than dead.

Seriously. You guys make it sound like some ultimate dooms day device.

It can be used well, but so far I've only been flashed a couple times and have survived more often than not.
Wrack that up against the number of times I've been noobtoobed at pointblank range and you've got yerselves a real-for-real, genuine, dyed in the wool, NO BIG DEAL.

                  Seriously.
Can anyone here tell me honestly that they've been chronicly owned by flashbangs?

Re: We as non SF owners are screwed!!!

wow, am i one of the few that doesnt find this to be much of a big deal. stop with this whole, "EA sucks and wants all our money" deal, okay? its ****ing annoying. The patch is so that they can mix up BF2 SF with BF2, nothing wrong with that, and it isnt a scheme so EA can make more money. I find that all of you people in this forum has something against BF2, but the fact is, it is a great online game, which is why ALL of you are still playing it. If you are going to continuosly bitch about this, than guess what? DONT PLAY THE ****ING GAME. You all played the demo before BF2 came out, and some of you thought that it sucked but hey, you still bought the game to bitch about it. This is turning into the ****ing steampowered forums where all of you kiddies just wont stop complaining. Sure you paid the 50 bucks to buy the game, sure you can bitch, but if you are going to bitch, BITCH with some ****ing logic. I do not have a problem with EA, they create great games, and without EA, you would all still be playing ****ing COUNTER-STRIKE.

the SF unlocks do not give you an advantage, sure flashbangs do give you an advantage, but not that much, I dont really care if i get blinded by a flashbang and get a death but it is still possible to see somewhat. The SF guns are not that great as well. I am an exclusive SF class user, so I use the G36C alot, but i have recently started using NON unlocks, meaning regular guns. The M4A1 is decent, and i prefer that over any other weapon right now, including the FN SCAR or the F2000. if you are annoyed by flashbangs, try to kill the enemy assaulters and use a flashbang yourself, simple. The patch made it possible for you to use the SF unlocks by picking them up, take advantage of it, or hey, be a lameass and counter the flashbangers with your all so powerful noob tube.

Instead of sitting here typing about how EA wants your money and how there is an unfair advantage, stop wasting the 5 minute typing time and use that to get better at your BF2 flash countering skills, you probably have BF2 open already in a server trying to find something to bitch about anyways.

                    /edit
I am going to start taking screenshots showing me using REGULAR bf2 weapons (not even a noob tube, ill probably be using an M4 or AKS74U) on karkand to show you that this is not a big deal. sure flashbangs are annoying, but hey, getting killed is annoying as well, so lets complain that the other person's bullets can damage you and kill you before you kill them.

Re: We as non SF owners are screwed!!!

So, I'm to understand just because I paid 30 bucks at release, I suddenly have a huge advantage in BF2 against those that didn't buy it? I'm sorry, but did I miss the logic in that statement?

How does me having an F2000 make me more deadly or have more of an advantage than if I used my AK-101? The little plus signed cross hair does NOT make the weapon more accurate... just less of a learning curve when you aim. Flashbangs? Urrmmm.. okay.. It just takes me 2 more seconds to kill you since I now have to pause, flash, shoot, move on, instead of just pause, toss nade, move on... I haven't tried gas on non-SF, does that work?

Please, enlighten this confuzzled player of BF2 who purchased SF the day of release and fully enjoys the lagged out night maps, nuances of NVG's, and getting to run around as full fledged NAVY SEAL.. HOOYAH!!

People with more money have more RAM and faster computers, they load maps faster and get to the helis first at the beginning of the round, and they have better FPS and more detail. That's an enormous advantage.

People with more time on their hands (ie without jobs) can play the game a whole lot more than anyone else, and with that extra practice they're likely to pick up a whole bunch of new tricks. That's an even greater advantage.

People who buy the expansion pack get (apart from a whole bunch of new maps, which btw are more diverse and interesting than most BF2 maps, new armies and cool toys and engine features) the ability to play regular BF2 maps with guns that are, at best, very slight improvments to the original. That's not really a great advantage.

They make games, they sell them, and they try to make as much money as they can, while (presumably) making the best games they can. They will jump on any chance to make money.

I was curious to know which was characteristics of SF guns.
Below some raw data about deviation/spread, recoil and damage per hits.
I'm lazy to provide a full analysis and a board with all data. Just judge by yourself.

In that case remember, to kill someone in 1 shot you need to do at least 34 damage via a headshot.
FN2000 provide decent accuracy + enought power to kill any players in 1 headshot (something that you could'nt do with a m16)
