Re: G36c or G3? be honest

Is it just me, or are most of the posts USK-kill posted promoting G3 even though SO MANY of us are talking about how great the G36C.
I'm actually gonna compile this crap to get it through all the numb-skulls' heads.

    People FOR the G36C: 1. iareConfusE, 2. morra_di, 3. unknown-soldier, 4. Big2firzX, 5. CommanderDiego, 6. Me, of course, 7. x3phyr, 8. Solid Snake.pt, 9. Reconmando, 10. SmokeySnipe (I think), 11. j4k3 (I think), 12. MassKiller, 13. MrChris_CJ, 14. {WP}Paas (DO NOT DENY THIS PERSON'S THEORIES FOR THEY PWN YOU!), 15. Deez, 16. shotgun2theface, 17. Usurper, 18. Cicchetti, 19. -={Alpha}=-

People NOT for the G36C: 1. Glasseye, 2. 44-89 (I think), 3. PBAsydney (Who happens to only say that the Special Ops class sucks, he is totally waiting to get flamed), 4. dark-eye (I think, and also fibs to say it takes two bullets from a G3 to kill a Spec. Ops), 5. J0k3r, 6. CaMar0z, 7. Al3x

People that just plain confuzzle me: 1. Catch28, 2. Eddy01741, 3. DimeBagWhore, 4. AFEDSLAYER, 5. Selecter, 6. Orrick.CF, 7. Daz, 8. Signa, 9. cobrakai, 10. USK-kill, 11. J0k3r (This guy's BF2 screename is J0k3r-Spec.Ops or sunfin like dat so I am confuzzled by him), 18. Forest, 19. tekeen, 20. \\«WÎÑG»//, 21. [USEF]Kicker (No people don't usually run into squads that have support in it because support is rarely there when you need it, DON'T YOU KNOW?!), 22. Habloc, 23. TopGunGreg, 24. Ruhanga, 25. Moke, 26. AlphaNut, 27. Eglaerinion

Alright, Alyssa, Kimberley, whatever the hell your name is, hand me the envelope please... thank you! And the winner for more favored gun unlock is...

THE G36C, OMG, I'M NOT SURPRISED AT ALL!

the gun you choose is WAY less important than the CLASS you play in game
soooo, pick the gun that matches your style of play

I have the G36c as my first,
      it ROCKS long range
and wins more than 1/2 up close
but as I NEVER play in the assault role
it was the perfect choice for me

(jack hammer as 2nd) - now I play mostly armor
and am now not afraid to leave my tank for a face to face fight

I play almost every class, except engineer. My advice is that the assaults G3 is useless. No need to tell you this. I adjust my style of playing to match each kit, but the assaults G3 is nothing in comparison to the PKM. I find more newbi support users racking up kills on my poor G3 than anything else.

At long range the G3 is terrible, everyone should know that.

The only unlock weapons that I have that are WORTH getting so far are the DAO, PKM, G36C, and maybe the M95 if its damage or accuracy was improved.

The G3 is overrated. Many people assume because its two stats say "high" and "high" that its one of the best. Well they were wrong.

            Have anyone considered Bulletdrop... ?

The g36c have smaller munition then the G3... therefor the G3 should have bigger bullet drop, and to hit on long ranges you should aim higher..

20 bullets with a high RPM = insane.

Also, what is it with people saying the G3 is accurate? BFHQ claims high accuracy but that's incorrect. Personally, I was mislead by it and ingame values prove it isn't. The G3's standard deviation is worse than any of the other default assault rifles, leave alone the carbines. I've proven this several times by shooting at a target at a distance the G36c would hit and yet, even with a large pacing between shots, it doesn't hit.
Yeah, IRL, the G3 has a ROF of 550RPM, in game, it has a ROF of 600RPM, the same as the Aks. EA always messes things up, the G36C has a ROF of 750RPM in real life, but still, in game, it's only 600 RPM.

Re: G36c or G3? be honest

In RL you don't aim higher to adjust to bullet drop - you adjust your sights to fit the distance to the target...
I coulnd't figure out anyways if bullet drop really exists in BF2 or if it's just a placebo.

My first, and so far only unlock is the G3, I love this gun, but mostly only for medium and short ranges. But it is really devestating at those distances. Especially if you opponent is standing tall, or you have a bunch of ppl running at you, shooting them with the G3 WILL stop their run.

The class I play most is the AT, but I am not sure if I should really unlock the DAO-12. I've had my butt kicked quite a few times by enemy AT-soldiers equiped with the DAO-12 but is it really worth the unlock? I am about 2000 pts away from my 2nd unlock so I'll have a few days to make up my mind :)

get the G36C, just unlocked it and i have nothing but good things to say about it, awesome sprint, and you get c4 so you wont get in sticky situations with armor, and the gun is a bit too accurate it seems unfair lol. I sat in a corner on karkand just picking off everything, headshots are easy as hell with this gun. I was snipin pple on sharqi from the contruction site all the way up on the hotel roof where the heli is. THats how accurate this thing is, go with the G36 ull be happy you did

Re: G36c or G3? be honest

I'm facing my second unlock as well, right now I have the G36c and can't say enough good things about it. My first choice was between the G36 and G3. I don't regret my choice one bit.

I've used the G3 on occasion when I could pick up the kit, but quite often I don't really see it around much which seems strange. I also know I am killed most often by the G36 cause I like to keep track of what weapon nails me.

One of the first things I would take into consideration is which kit you play most, assault or spec ops. Whichever you play most consistently is probably the weapon you should unlock unless you wanna change kits specifically for a particular weapon.

I won't comment much on the G3 because my experience with it is limited. However a few things I would throw out about the G36 are as follows:

                    - Awesome overall gun. In my opinion this weapon can fill any role on the battlefield, this alone gives it big points as a choice weapon unlock.

                    - Accuracy, amazing accuracy. The low recoil of this gun, accuracy, means kills! Forget about the point damage these guns do in game. You can't kill anything unless you hit it. You can even stay full auto out to medium range with the G36 and be on target for fast kills. At long range you can choose single or burst mode and again be right on target.

I usually go semi mode for the long shots and consistently nail multiple targets in quick semi shots and don't need to adjust my aim at all. After every shot it seems its set up perfectly for the next unlike many of the weapons which throw your sights off because of higher recoil.

                    - Weak damage. I don't agree with the G36 being weak in damage. But again, because of the accuracy and fast firing ability of this weapon, the speed more than balances this issue, which again I don't think is an issue anyway

                    - I enjoy playing assault as well, I've found the M16/M203 to be more than enough to get the job done. The 3 round burst is incredibly accurate and semi mode puts a hurt on anyone just like the G36. Along with the M203 you have a nice little option. Plus semi mode is awesome for long range as well, unlike the G3.

Anyway, this is my two cents and I hope it helps. Compare this with fellow players offering up opinions/experience with the G3 and compare, may the force be with you

I've decided my next unlock is the L85A1. I've been testing this out lately and it's awesome. The medic kit gives me versatility with a weapon that allows me to continue to play an aggressive role on the battlefield. Hope your choice goes well for you.

i got the g36 and its a good gun but the clip is bad and its not that good in close combat i would have to say i made a mistake and should have gone with the g36c

I got the G36C and its been awesome so far - great gun.

Now opinions vary on the G3, some say its uber-powerful and others say its complete crap, so I asked a clan mate who got the G3 unlock and has been playing with it for weeks.

His lowdown: a piece of crap - he regrets ever getting it. He killed himself so I could use it for a few minutes and with the limited experience I have witht he G3 (about 30 minutes or so), I've got to say - I didn't like it much. The power is overwhelming, but the accuracy seems a bit under the weather, the scope is complete bollocks, the lack of ammunition is frustrating and playing Assault without the M203 grenade launcher really isn't that fun.

So, my opinion: forget about the G3, get the G36C! :)

Get it. The DAO is the best CQC weapon in the game and a huge step up from the useless stock weapons. It turns the AT class into a CQC killing machine. If you already like playing AT you can't go wrong with the DAO.

I just got the G3 today. First round playing with it, 30 kills, no vehicle usage what so ever.I love it, its so well designed, the sound rocks and its by far the most realistic gun.

The G3 should be more accurate and stronger but even as it is now it's pretty damn good. If you're the guy that waits for an accurate shot and uses controlled burst/semi-auto alot the G3 is much better. If you spray and pray alot take the G36C.

Thanks, DimeBagWhore, I'll take your advice into careful consideration when I reach the amount of points required.
Right now, I wrap up quite a few kills with the AT class, unfortunately I got most my kills with the AT-Rocket, and not as I'd like with my rifle.
So far I have always tried to avoid close quarter combat, I even tried to avoid direct infantry combat. Just chasing tanks, jeeps, and helos around with my rockets.
Just today I was playing as an AT soldier on Karkand, and I must admit that I got owned by some guy using a DAO. It was a rather frustrating experience because each time he'd show up I stood no chance against this full auto pellet blaster... I killed him once with a G36 which I picked up, and then took his kit. Too bad he was almost out of ammo, and had no more rockets left, so I was chosen to be the next road-kill.

My next unlock will pobably be either the DAO-12 or the PKM.

Oh, and just to get back on topic; I have picked up the G36C quite a few times, and I don't find it to be much better then the default SpecOps weapon. I have never regretted getting the G3, but it is not suitable for all combat situations. It definately has it's power in CQC, and is mainly an attack weapon. Not to be used for camping...
