Thanks, DimeBagWhore, I'll take your advice into careful consideration when I reach the amount of points required.
Right now, I wrap up quite a few kills with the AT class, unfortunately I got most my kills with the AT-Rocket, and not as I'd like with my rifle.
So far I have always tried to avoid close quarter combat, I even tried to avoid direct infantry combat. Just chasing tanks, jeeps, and helos around with my rockets.
Just today I was playing as an AT soldier on Karkand, and I must admit that I got owned by some guy using a DAO. It was a rather frustrating experience because each time he'd show up I stood no chance against this full auto pellet blaster... I killed him once with a G36 which I picked up, and then took his kit. Too bad he was almost out of ammo, and had no more rockets left, so I was chosen to be the next road-kill.

My next unlock will pobably be either the DAO-12 or the PKM.

Oh, and just to get back on topic; I have picked up the G36C quite a few times, and I don't find it to be much better then the default SpecOps weapon. I have never regretted getting the G3, but it is not suitable for all combat situations. It definately has it's power in CQC, and is mainly an attack weapon. Not to be used for camping...

The DAO is a great weapon. It was my first unlock and I have to say that this gun OWNS in close-quarter combat. Plus, the shotgun rounds can take out more than 1 person at once! One downside is that it takes a long time to reload...but that's what the pistol is for.

ON TOPIC: I think I'll get the G36C from all the positive reviews :)

Alphanut, if AT is the main kit you play then I don't think you can go wrong with the DAO. Just the other night was my first experience going up against it on a consistent basis. I was on a 24/7 Karkand server, and every time I faced this dude using it I was blown away, no chance in heck against it in close quarters.

However, everytime I ran into this guy outside standard close quarters battle, I nailed his butt. And it was very satisfying after being blasted to heck with that thing so many times close up Each time outside of its range the dude had to bunny hop running away to try and avoid my fire.

Another thing I noticed about this guy was most of the kills were coming from hiding and "camping" behind a corner as people ran past. Nothing wrong with that and its using your environment to your advantage, but I don't want to rely upon environment to be successful as you will not always have that factor in your favor.

Without a doubt up close it rules. But in my opinion, its not a choice early unlock for me. It is limited to close quarters only, takes a helluva long time to reload, and just doesn't cut it as a consistent, reliable weapon overall.

If your main choice of killing is with your rockets anyway from what you said, maybe another unlock would be worth more to you and your hard earned points to give you some versatility. However since you've been going mainly AT anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to put the DAO to good use.

i personally dont like shotguns...not good for long range fighting and i try to avoid close combat cuz my computer wont like it

first off i dont know what people think when their saying "the G3's accurecy sucks"or whatsoever, even if the target is 400 metres or further away, while proning you can put out 4 bullets (which is enough) to kill a sniper before he can even take aim, second the rifle is powerful but dont use it in CQC you'll be reloading within secs. and combining this with more then 2 targets..... well youre dead within no time, if its a single target within well lets say "smelling" distance id say go for it, but the 20 bullets are the bottleneck for this rifle (not SMG like stated before)

Well, both guns are amazing.

It all depends on which kit you use the most. Personally, I did this:

1st unlock: medic

2nd unlock: spec ops

3rd unlock(almost there): will be engineer

I'm hardly ever assault, as I rather enjoy helping my team and blowing things up. I'm very very sneaky sir!

Oh, and the person that wrote the G36c is ****ty, you're just no good at it. Short round burst buddy, it's a rather powerful weapon, and you get to keep your C4. :)

I'm gunna get the g3, it looks like the g36c is a great gun, but im not a person who "sprays and prays" a lot. im usually a sniper & also have the m95, so im used to picking my shots. Ive learned with practice the g3 with a well placed shot can take out people with full heatlh out wit 1 shot. (at the head). So ya, it just depends on how I play, & i play more like i need the more powerfull gun, the recoil doesnt bother me. & if im gunna be playin long range i can just whip out my m95 :P

The G36C isn't a spray n' pray weapon at all mate - its a rather accurate, precise, clean weapon - imo I find myself spraying a lot more with the G3 than the G36C...

I have played both weapons quite a lot recently and would sum up as follows:

G36C - Good ammo, good rate of fire, Very accurate
G3 - Poor ammo, lower rate of fire, you only need to be accurate ONCE!!

Its a dilema you`ve got here, cos the standard weapons dont suck. I have found both the M4 and M16 good weapons and the AK is a gem if you treat her right.

off topic: If you have not unlocked the DAO-12 yet, do so. The AT weapons for the MEC / China are just too poor. The DAO makes this class fun.

BTW, thought the DAO was a "made up" gun till I found this http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/SH09-E.HTM

Apparently in the US this gun is classed as a "destructive device" and needs special approval for ownership - KUDOS!!!

Sounds like the choice would be to go with the G36C. It is really depressing though, since the stats of the rifles kind of got reversed...

The 36C should not be more accurate at long distances since it is a Commando version of the G36, hence CQB. And it should definitely not be more powerful.

The G3 on the other hand is an Assault Rifle, and is actually one of the more accurate Assault Rifles on the planet.

I'm just amazed that EA/DICE would screw the pooch on this...

Well, i think the only reason EA/Dice implemented the G36cwas because the G36K (the carbine version) was too overpowered with two scopes. te G36K has a regular optical red dot sight for normal shooting, and a 3.5x optical scope for longer ranges, so basically think of it like this, a G36C, with the power, range, and accuracy of a G36K, but of course, doesn't have a scope. EIther for balance, or EA/Dice is really stupid.

I have both guns.

I like the 36c because i get nades AND C4 with the kit. I can get more kills per death with the 36c because i have more ammo, better accuracy(i think anyway), more mags, AND I get C4.

I unlocked the G36 first, and always found myself getting ownt by tanks or armor of some kind. ... and I always found myself out of ammo. (i usually carry a 3-1kdr or so.) The 36c has all the positives and none of the negatives of the G36 as far as I am concerned.
