At the same time you get a nice little ammo refill station between your bases.

Your job should be to assist defending squads.
      I totally agree with you
I would set up a team of just assult rifles men and work together. I see no point in solo mission you get hit and killed nearky all the time. WORK AS A TEAM you gain more points as I have found out:)

          Re: Gameplay Tipps and Tricks

I know the sniper tip has been mentioned in the thread already but I'd like to highlight the point.

          TIPS

Sniper - One shot, one kill
All sniper rifles are capable of one shot, one kill by making a headshot. Sure, it's difficult to pull off, especially on a moving target, but it's worth trying. All that can happen long-term is that you get better with the sniper rifle - is that a bad thing?

          Landmines
Landmines can often be seen and avoided so use one or two to direct the enemy to where you want them to go. Lay one in the middle of a track and then lay others in the scrub/bushes/long grass where the enemy will have to drive to avoid the one in the middle of the track.

          C4 against vehicles
If laying C4 as a trap for vehicles, put one pack either side of a track instead of in the middle. The explosion radius should be big enough to catch most vehicles driving down the track and there's less chance the occupants will see them and take avoiding action.

          Teamkills
If you get team killed, think before you punish. If you ran out in front of a vehicle and got run over, drove over a landmine or stumbled on a claymore, don't punish. Your team mate will have already lost points automatically and it was your lack of observation that caused you to die. If you run into a team mate's line of fire or you're surrounded by enemies that a team mate is firing at, don't punish again - it's unlikely that your team mate could have avoided you. This tip won't help you out but it will make the game run more smoothly.

And now for the most useless tip on this thread. If you place C4's on all four tires, they all spin around in red little circles when you drive. It looks really cool

To change seats its the F keys F1, F2 ect ect.

As far as hitting your mark. Practice makes perfect.
There are a couple things that you can practice that will help you in an empty server. Practice flying low in and around things. This will help you with aa. Practice spinning tight and wide (in tight circles and big wide circles i mean) around a flag at medium height while firing at things with the rockets. The spinning while dropping flares will help alot with aa and planes. The US chopper is the easiest to learn with the rockets accuracy the china chop isnt bad. Forget about dog fighting with the mec chop unless you have a skilled gunner with you, otherwise its a hit and run hide and seek game. Basically run with your strengths and avoid your weakness. You can tell my weekness by this post. Stick with one chopper at a time. Practice makes perfect keep firing one rocket at a time while moving in different directions thats the quickest way. Also try to find someone who likes gunning and work with them as much as possible. A good gunner should always have more kills then the pilot. Remember to tell them to keep your line of sight. Practice Practice Practice.

                    Re: Gameplay Tipps and Tricks

Well, good tips folks; here is a few novel ones for ya... ;-)

You know in 1.03 that mines and claymores can be detonated by explosives right? So if you are going to climb a ladder toss a nade up to blow it up, place a mine in a spot not likely to be driven over, and toss a 'nade at it, to create a surprisingly large and instant kill to any vehicle or person caught nearby. Or place mines at a spawning flag, let the enemy take it, run past throw a nade in, and each mine will detonate the others creating a lethal and large chain reaction.

As a tank, if you see a mine, pull back and shoot it; you may very well kill the engineer lurking nearby who planted it with the chain explosion.

Furthermore, many vehicles allow you to hide underneath them, as an engineer, instead of hiding in the open repairing your tank, hide under it ;-). Or place c4 underneath and let some overly excited player run, grab the tank, and you can either take the tank at the last moment or detonate.

Other engineer tips: place a mine on a vehicle, ideally in the "top hatch" anyone who tries to move the thing dies instantly (note does not work on helos). And since mines last a while after you die... you can still get the last laugh.

Also remember engineers can only place 5 mines at once, old mines will disappear as new ones are used.

Furthermore, stationary anti-tank launchers are one shot kills against any tank if you hit the soft point of the treads... Also a one hit kill against attack helos, so it seems you have another way to kill em. Otherwise remember to use 50 caliber guns against both planes and helos, (via the guns on top of humvees, tanks, or even the PKM. While you may not get the reaction you'd like with a stinger missile, via start them smoking off the first shot, it can and will kill. Thus making it a highly effective weapon. Furthermore, against planes, I highly suggest jumping out of your vehicle against a good bomber; (no big box of death on your head) tends to help ya live.

Oh and when it comes to tanks, tanks are the only vehicle with noticable locational damage, as we all know, aim for the treads, not the chasis. However this is also true with helo rockets vs tanks, grenade launchers, attack helo chainguns, and the APC main cannon and rocket. In otherwords, if you find yourself like one of the many apc's to slaughter almost anything aside from hull health compitent tank drivers, learn to aim for the treads. Just in case you don't understand, make your own server, and start firing the main APC cannon at the top of tank's chasis, you'll notice it takes quite a few volleys to even get it smoking. Thus you use rockets right? Well if you hit the top, you'll only take off about a third of his health. Aim at the rear or especially the treads and you'll get him smoking with one rocket, and/or can use one full volley of your main cannon to accomplish the same effect. FYI: grenades, claymores, mines, and c4 do proximity damage, not locational. Meaning get it as close as you can, but it doesn't matter where the c4 is placed.

Oh and as for snipers and claymores, claymores can be cleared by nades, so if you want to use them well, don't place them just on the top of ladders, inside rooms and choke points. Use them as bait, how many players can resist the temptation of rushing an enemy sniper who looks vulnerable? Sprint off, create some distance, and lay one around a corner, and if you like, pop out shoot a pistol round at them before it arms, and run like hell.

*Takes a deep breathe* Alright, as I'm sure many of you know, blackhawks are better than the MEC and Chinese equivalents; but I bet only a few know why. The blackhawk, aside from using a cool looking minigun, can peirce all vehicles (APC included) except for tank armor (doesn't matter how many shots even if aimed at the treads, no effect). Yet the Chinese and MEC cannons cannot even damage APCS let alone tanks, thus don't always trust your eyes to see a "hit" mark to associate it with damage. Also note that, any attack helo can kill armor with its main cannon, but unless you are hitting the treads, it isn't going to happen for quite some time. Finally, do not use ****tols, shotguns, or any sort of rifle against helos; I kid you not, you can hit it with every damn round, and at most you'll take off one of twenty health bars (via 5 percent for a full clip). The exceptions to this rule are the light machine guns (esp the PKM), rocket and grenade launchers, and the M95. So in otherwords, if you see a helo that isn't smoking and you don't have one of these weapons, run and get a 50 cal on a transport (even a buggy), or any form of high caliber stationary weapon, and watch the immense difference.

Try this at home: instead of just stealing an enemy attack helo, place one c4 on it, and let them get it. There is nothing like pressing a button and causing someones pride and joy burning up from the inside out ;-). (Note 2 c4's for blackhawks).

So is that innovative enough for ya? See, not all nubs are stupid. ;-)

I'm not one for giving tips out, but this one should have been in here a lonnnnng time ago, as many people just do not understand it...

For people flying jets and dropping bombs.. Check your minimap to make sure the map is clear before you drop your bombs into it, just because you see what appears to be an 'enemy target' in the HUD, it does not mean it is. The vehicle will still give off heat after someone leaves it for 5 seconds, and it just may be that your teammate is trying to fix his vehicle at the time you decided to swoop in on him.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not a bug, it was coded that way:

                                ObjectTemplate.create TargetObject HeatObject
                                rem ObjectTemplate.setNetworkableInfo LaserTargetInfo
                                ObjectTemplate.timeToLive 0
                                ObjectTemplate.saveInSeparateFile 1
                                ObjectTemplate.targetType TTHeat
                                ObjectTemplate.disableWhenEmptyVehicle 1
                                ObjectTemplate.disableWhenEmptyVehicleDelay 5 <--Not a bug
                                ObjectTemplate.disableWhenWreck 1

You can watch a video I made back in august and posted on these boards several times in where you will see a clan mate of mine get in and out of an AA nest and see the HUD targeting reticule go from Friendly to Unfriendly then back to Friendly, that is him getting in and out and in again. Video HERE.

Even if this were remedied by EA-Dice to display properly, it still would not keep prevent people from getting teamkills if they are not going to pay attention to their minimap while flying. Minimap is your friend.
