We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
When flying into a base, switch to bombing mode. If there's someone in the stingers, a box will pop up around them.
When driving a jeep, buggy, hummer, or van, switch to the outside view (default F10). You will be able to navigate and take corners better, as well as have a better view for seeing mines or C4.
Blowing up artillery with less c4.
You can blow up artillery with less c4 if you place it between the artillery guns, instead of on them.
Make that:
Blowing up artillery with less c4.
On certain maps, like Golf of Oman, you can blow up artillery with less c4 if you place it between the artillery guns, instead of on them.
The Gunner can make the difference.
Having a good gunner/pilot combo is paramount. Get together in a Squad so you can talk. Pilot, you need to keep your movements steady and slow (unless under direct fire or Lockon warning) and those fly on wire missiles the gunner has access too are devestating if using correctly. One hit kills if it falls on target. Gunner, your field of view is massive compaired to the pilot in any view. If you see something you wanna shoot at, or a threat you wanna be far away from, tell him.
Slow and low.
It's amazing how many random vehicles, soldiers and other exploding niceness you come across if you just slow down and keep it low. If no planes on a map you can reign. Just keep out of sight of the AA emplacements and wriek havoc.
Move sideways.
Helecopters can crab. They can move sideways whilst still having guns on the enemy. Great for dodging RPGs and to some extent AA missiles. Don't be afraid of coming in low behind cover and moving out to strike at the poor sods fighting over who wants to be pilot next at the enemy air base. If it gets too hot, duck back behind cover and retreat to pop up in another place.
Learn to come in hot.
Your wirly bird is taking some damage, you can see a pad. You just got to get to it in one peace without blowing up or crashing into the ground. The physics in the game does let you take some liberties with the handling of the helicopters. You can come in faster than you think you could and still stop on the pad. With the bonus that if you are a bit heavy and you nose over or tilt, any damage you incure is being repaired.
You can turn faster than an airoplane.
S'true. You can. If you know some fixed wing jet jockey is buzzing you, just turn around. Not to tight because you still offer a viable lock. Just loose enough to loose the lock, but tight enough to shake the jet . . . but be warned, they do come back looking for you. DON'T be in the same place twice. It hurts.
Big Birds.
Most poeple use these for high insertion. Cool. Nothing wrong with that. But they can make very powerful gunships too. Particularly on a no plane map. The Black Hawk with its mini guns can knock of a good few kills. Espiacially with some good support gunners in the back doors. But Pilots, low and slow and parrallel with the target. It's no point running straight in there nose first because niether gunner can bear on anything. Get good at it and you can get a few kills plus an insertion. Plus a helo back for another go. These helos are big and slow and couldn't out manouver a battleship. But they do support some heavy guns. Use 'em. In these the pilot is just there for the ride.
Not exactly a gameplay tip, but rather a keyboard setup one.
I don't recall where I heard this, I think it was either the All Games Considered podcast or the Yankidank podcast.
Anyway, it is repeated information that I find useful.
Remap your keyboard for maximum convenience
In the middle of a firefight, the quickest killer is running out of ammo and panicking, trying to switch to your pistol. If you have a standard mouse (2-button with mousewheel) simply switch your pistol key to your mousewheel button, allowing you instant switch. You can then move your knife to key 2 and remap your parachute to key 1, making basejumping much simpler, as you don't need to move your left hand after jumping to reach your chute key.
Capture easier on Gulf of Oman:
Instead of hiding in the container or standing next to the flag, hide under the stairs of the crane, this will provide cover from 3 sides, so you can kill anything that comes from 1 direction.
Repair uav, arty and radar safer way
Get the medic kit and sit inside a tank or apc. When you stand next to a UAV post, Radar or Artillery canon it will still repair them plus you will be safer.
Blow up wooden fences
Blow up wooden fences with your grenade launcher, your c4, your anti tank weapon or just toss a grenade to it. Not really much of a tip, but it helps if you need a fast way trough a city, like karkand. Also possible to drive trough em[/u]
Lay mines on the right location
Don't just plant mines on the road, it's most of the times noticable by the enemy. Instead plant em out of sight. On a hill plant the mines a bit from the edge so they stay out of sight when a tank or apc comes up the hill, when they finally reached the top and ride a bit further its impossible to see the mines as the car will leap over it and there you have your kill.
nice way to capture hotel point on Sharqi
A nice spot to hide and capture the hotel point on the map Sharqi Peninsula is to stay behind the hotel in the corner on the opposite side of the stairs. This is still in the radius of the flagpoint
Sneaky way capture a flag on Gulf of Oman
At the hotel with the 2 pools "1 empty 1 full" jump in the empty on to have some great cover while capping the flag.
Tank menace
To destroy a tank easier when you are in a tank, just press down the gasspedal and crush into him, this will take alot of his health and sometimes explode on impact. Make sure you still fire to give him additional damage duh :p
Watch out tho, i've done it alot and sometimes it blows up your own tank aswell
I was playing Strike at Karkand one day (map size 32) with my friend and im a medic for life and he got the support upgrade when he got lance corporal, in about the middle of the match with about 120 tickets left (on the losing team) we were american and mec only had one base left and it was the forward most mec base at the start of the game so we go to the base thats a little north of it i think and climb the ladder up to the top on the building right next to it well i had my L85A1 on single shot and he was blastin away with his pkm and we got like 100 kills split between us and alot of times one of us would damage him alot and the other would kill him so we both got points and if we were running low on ammo he just tossed an ammo bag vise versa with medic and if alot of them rushed us we both pulled out grenades and rained then down on them and he just kept resupplying us i sware there was at least a period of 30 sec where we didnt stop throwing grenades
Dodging
The attack helicopters can easily loop and roll if your altitude is great enough, use that to dodge fighter pilots that are locked on you.
Also if you just get on your side and just hold it so your spinning in a constant loop on ur side you wont loose any altitude if you can keep your nose up a little, (its great for dodging missles in the middle of a combat situation where you are taking constant fire wherever u go)
