For all 30-06 knew that APC was going to drive 20m and own him once it had a clearer shot. So naturally he engages the target and kills it. Done deal. Life continues on, 30-06 gets the walker, kills some mans, probably dies. How is that ban-able? Kick, perhaps, if you don't feel a warning is needed since the rules are posted on entry. But to permanently, and without warning, remove a player from your servers sounds like poor administration.

Many clan servers let their members stat pad with hacks in one team, so the only thing you can do is leave.

Why are you so anti-clan? The majority of clans are *more* careful than average about hackers and exploiters, partly because they have a name, a reputation, history, and pride, all wrapped up in their name and tag. Yes, there are a few "bad" clans that I'm not going to name here since they've already been called out before. But that's just a few of the hundreds and hundreds of clans out there. Yet your posts always seem to vilify clans and clan servers.

A player spawned in the Uncap, jumped in the APC, started to drive away and was killed by the rorsch in the uncap. He spawns in again, and is immediately killed by the walker. That person happened to be an admin and the player was banned. That admin had no idea he was there when he was driving away in the APC, I know because he was in TeamSpeak with me at the time. For all the admin knew at that point, that player may have been hanging around in the uncap getting cheap kills. This is the reason we run Battle Recorder on all our servers and we review bans when asked and some are lifted and some remain. Thirtyoughtsix has a forum account on our forums and is welcome to appeal his ban there anytime.

30-6 should have had a warning before getting kicked! Because then if the server admin is wrong, he has a chance to defend himself or say sorry and not do it again. To instantly ban, just because your bloke got killed is a bit over-reactive. I hope that server bans hackers as quickly as something minor in comparison. Saying that though, if their server bans people who bunnyhop and grenade spam on the Titan, I'll support them all the way! :yay:

Over 400 hours and no hackers? Open you eyes more or please mention the servers that are hacker free!! Hopefully mostly non-clan ones, I'm losing faith in clans unless a REALLY REALLY responsible one shows up!

Oh there have been a couple who I *thought* were hacking when I used to pub, but that just gave me more incentive to beat them, just to show them how much they suck.

I play on my own clan's server in the very small ammount of time that I play bf2142 now, but it is almost always admined meticulously, any suspected hacks are reviewed in demo-recs and PBSS first before any action is taken.

Plus we don't ban for anything besides explicit racial smack-talk (and exploits/hacks ofc.). We run an "all's fair in love and war(games)" server.

The message saying you were banned for TK is just the genceric message from Punkbuster that shows up after you are kicked/banned. If you saw the screen in game you would have seen:

(And the time stamp is not your local time, it is set by the server. If I remember it was around midnight or so.)
As for the time frame, it was not 5 minutes. I was in the server, I also watched the BR file. After you killed him in the APC, you went over and went prone near where the walker spawns. He spawned back in, 15 seconds after you killed him, the walker spawned, you got in the walker and killed him, you were banned. That wasn't more than 30 seconds.

Anyway, if we are so bad at running a server why would you want back in it? We must be doing something right as our Camp G server has made it into the top 100, which is pretty good for a 32 man server since it is ranked by average player count.

WTH are you talking about? All I have to say is WOW. First of all what's this 5 minutes your talking about? Who said anything about 5 minutes?

Second, I was out to steal the walker, NOTHING MORE... and you yourself JUST SAID that I was in the uncap not even 30 seconds.... and that the guy I killed in the APC was the SAME GUY that respawned that i killed waiting for the walker. SO obviously, he knew I was gonna be there. If I had killed somebody that respawned after he KNEW i was there so I could actually blow the commander assets, rather then dying needlessly....would I be banned? I bet you guys would ban me for that.

BUT GUESS WHAT? That's directly against the ROE.... to tell somebody they cannot blow up the command assets because doing so might require killing somebody near the uncap. That doesn't qualify for spawn camping I would think. No, camping to me would more like meaning I'm there for more then just "killing the arty" or "stealing a walker" just to kill people as they try to spawn.

Last, I never said you guys don't know how to run a server... in fact I'm glad it's one that is actually policed (rather then people getting away with anything they want)... but there is such a thing as banning somebody over something FRIVILOUS..... I'm not saying that you guys in general have no idea how to run a server.... but your starting to make me wonder....

No, I simply think whoever banned me, with no warning, no kick, no reason even explaining WHY, was a bit overzealous in doing so... and that was just a stupid thing to do. You guys aren't gonna stay popular by kicking people for stupid reasons like that without even giving anyone a chance. What if somebody didn't see the rule because they where not there long enouph to see it scroll on the top of the screen? Not even a warning to that person? What about somebody like me that regularly visits a large list of servers and might forget who has what rule.... and assumes that if maybe I forget, an admin might actually REMIND me before banning me?

Are you telling me if I had a stupid rule (not that yours is stupid) on my server that most people didn't have, and I didnt tell anyone about it, and you broke it, and I banned you without warning, or even a kick, or stating the reason why... that you wouldn't be a little ANNOYED by that? I regularly played on your server..... I like having alot of options for servers to play on, things can be different on different servers at different times of the day.... so obviously, I like to stay on all the servers that are generally good servers to play on.

Please take it to Skates servers forum. I think in general most people side with admins and skates has always been a font of wisdom and truth so its difficult not to side with him on this.

He DID know i was there... he spotted me before he got in the APC... he just lost track of me... maybe he got confused and thought that was somebody ELSE he saw the first time. ALL I KNEW is that he probably knew i was there.... so I moved to a different location... then when I saw him run to the APC, me being on foot decided I should kill him before he finds me again.... cause infantry vs APC is a pretty much ONE SIDED BATTLE. Then I KNEW he knew I was there when he respawned, I even saw it was the same guy... I didn't "want" to kill him a second time, that's NOT what I was there for. But he spawned again before I could get the walker out of there. So I killed him then LEFT... and you guys KNEW I had already left... in fact I killed about 4 more people with the walker well away from your uncap before I was banned. But you banned me anyways. No warning... not even the taking the time to type in the message why....

First of all, since when is it a normal thing for anyone to SIMPLY BAN somebody without warning somebody about a server rule they might not know of? There wasn't even a kick, or a warning, and in fact I wasn't even banned untill 5 minutes after I was in your uncap....

That's where the 5 minutes came from. Watch the BR file and get out your stop watch, you were banned imediately after you killed him with the walker in the uncap. I have already explained everything from our viewpoint, even saying that I expected the ban would be lifted. I have told you that your forum account was approved and that I would look for your post in our Complaints forum. You still have not posted there and yet continue to drag this out in the public forums here. I have nothing further to add here on this subject. If you wish to discuss it further you can post on our website and probably get your ban lifted. If you continue on here I can guarantee you nothing will be done about it.

I was straight banned from the Killox server for either a)pwning their admins or b)wearing INF-UK tags, either one's petty but i'm not bothered and don't ***** and moan about it

two times i went next to people that were afk, emptied entire clips at them including headshots and 1 of the times the guy came back before i could kill him and killed me, sometimes ppl appear to have alot more health then they should, i guess that's the only hack i've seen, or at least that obvious.

i find admin abusing more annoying actually, like the other day i was in a server where i tried to go in the gunship once, one of the admin tk'd me, so i respawned went to capture some silos cause i didnt want to bother picking a fight, a few minutes after i spawn with the anti air rocket the engineer has, (forgot the name woops :P) as soon as i kill an admin that was flying the gunship on the enemy team, i get kicked, i go back to ask why and they start acting moronic cause i didnt see the server rules about no anti air, then the rules started scrooling in the screen and it was also saying that only clan members could use the gunship... so i left and joined another server.

now... is this allowed??

Back off topic again, but no, they can't restrict which weapons you can use or which vehicles you can use. Reserveing certain vehicles like the gunship for clan members only is not allowed. Some servers, ours included, will ask that when it is just starting and there are only 6-8 people in that you stay out of the Walkers, but that is just because one person running around in a walker when it is 3v3 or 4v4 is not so much fun.

Back on topic. PB caught 4 people using aimbots on our different servers yesterday. Either some kids got their allowance and bought some hacks, or PB came out with an update and is catching more of the latest hacks. I'm hoping it's the second one but no going to hold my breath.

It's good to hear some people know hacks are out there. I don't remember which server owner thinks people make up most hackers.
