Here is one of the more common "You're hacking" incidents I see. I was playing on one of our servers last night on Berlin. We were PAC and took the back flag Outpost so I throw down a beacon next to one of the buildings back there. The next time I die, I'm on the building, you knew I was going to say that. So I'm up there crouched right at the front corner picking off guys as they try to retake it. One guy is a player that sent me a buddy request forever ago but I am rarely in game with. The third time I kill him he starts a kick vote against me. I type in chat, "Nice I kill you 3 times and you try to kick me from my own server, lol." He then leaves the game. I look in my buddy list to see where he went and he's on a Knife server, ironic huh? Anyway, I ask him through a buddy message why he was trying to kick me. He said, "You were moving too ****ing fast and shooting me through the wall." Funny thing is, I was never moving, I was camping, tent and all, on the corner of that building. I'm sure he thought I was shooting him through the wall because he was prone behind a wall on a balcony, I was shooting him in the torso and legs because thats all I could see, but the hit indicator would have shown the shot coming from the other side of the wall since they only show the horizontal direction, not what height the shot comes from.

Before you start calling glitch/hack for being on the roof, DICE has given their stamp of approval with this new patch that hopefully will be out before we die.

- Further fix to prevent "pod surfing". Note that some pod movement will still be possible and is an intended gameplay mechanic to allow the player to have some small choice of landing site and to access rooftops

Heres the master ban list for BF2142 from punksbusted. There are screenshots in a lot of them.

BUT and a big but.

How many people play BF2142? Thousands. Tens of thousands. Over half a million soldiers names registered. Obviously not that many actual players but its a lot.

ONLY 1225 players banned by punkbuster. thats not many.

I had one experience with something like this. I don't think it was hackers but rather glitchers but anywho. So here I was attacking a titan with 2 or 3 other squads and everytime someone turned that corner to go into the cargo bay whether it be from the vents or from the bottom deck everyone got obliterated if they came into sight for more than a few seconds. I finally pinpointed where the fire was coming from as I had tried to break through in all entrances. So I threw a grenade in the general direction to try to spark a reaction but got nothing and then proceeded to die. After that i managed to get behind those big crates in the middle of the cargo bay but then got magically killed again. But this time i glitched through the floor when i died and was waiting for respawn and could see 2 support, 1 in each front corner of the crate, camping the entrances. So that is my bad experience with that, and i'm wishing i would have had the presence of mind to grab a screenshot but as it was my first time seeing something like that I was kinda like whoa wtf! Anywho thats my story.

Combination of both. As an admin I check various sources of info for hack sites. One of the recent issues was how do hacks hide PB screenshots. All the hack sites I visited (and dont moan) have open forums explaining how they fool PB screenshots. Allegedly you can have black screen shots with some, corrupted screenshots with some, load your own screenshot (from a selection provided) for others and so on.

One forum boasted over 7000 registered members. To be a registered member you had to purchase something.

They are out there. BUT BUT more BUTS

I am mored owned by great players than hackers. Trust me. hackers dont rule the games. Great players do. All hacks do is make you better than the crap you once were. At most it will get you a few golds and a thousand or so points up the leaderboard. But the REALLY great players you see everyday Like Fish. Like my m8 muppethunter. Like Rogu3granny when he isn't over excited.. lol

hackers don't get to be the best they only get abetter than they were.

He posts the same **** every month about people who are supposedly hacking and I never see any proof. The same advice is given out each time that he should play on PsB servers, download BR files and get screenshots but every time a new thread emerges he never has done any of these things.

The game is not overrun by hacks, pure and simple.

LOL no proof? too lazy too look for it yourself? Seriously it's all over the place. You want me to go out and try and fraps every game (which screws up my fps) just so I give you proof? The proof is out there... go find it. And my topic title didn't mean overrun by the hundreds.... don't take it so literal.... I just meant that I see them on a regular basis.... Maybe you need to play more to improve your odds of seeing them? Other servers maybe?

Agreed. Do you any concrete evidence to support this claim? Any online will have hackers in it, it's just a fact of life. I think you guys will keep bringing this up until every single person that is playing suspiciously will be kick/banned. We're already heading down that road, that's what is ruining this game. The constant fear of hackers is driving this community up the walls, that's why this game isn't fun anymore. The amount of honest to god real hackers has been so blown out of proportion it's not even funny. I do play counter-strike, quite often actually. I rarely encounter hackers in CS, also it's not a bunch of people screaming hack after every death. Why you may ask? Because I play on good servers that are well admined and with people I know. If you join any joe schmoe server you will likely encounter the scenario you are talking about. Also, VAC seems to be doing a better job than PB is at this moment. Is it perfect? Of course not, the people who develop the hacks are always going to be once step ahead.

No the problem isn't soley that every single person that is playing suspiciously is kicked/banned ... which btw, I've had that problem.... some group of players kept saying that I was hacking and they had a screen shot of it, blah blah blah, but I don't hack... and I knew they had nothing... and of course nothing ever happened.... punkbusted never did put me on any master ban list... and in fact they eventually apologized for being stupid....

No the real problem is a double edged sword, the real hackers show up... some people see them, tell other people that they are real.... and some of these people start acting like smacktards accusing people falsely... because if one person is hacking, maybe that "other" person is too.... then people get sick of the false accusations.... and start to jump all over the people that try to point out anyone that "might" be hacking... whether it was a legitimate complaint or not...... then people start ignoring the real hackers.... and the cycle continues.

Nobody listens to you anymore if you do happen to see a legit hacker because of all the people "crying wolf".... so you stop bothing (I've done this, there's just no point usually unless you have 100% solid proof)... so then the real cheaters go unchecked....

Either way, the whole thing is a complete mess.

I don't vote kick unless either a)they are breaking a server rule, such as camping an uncap when it says no camping uncaps.... or b)I've encountered somebody im pretty sure is hacking, and no admin is there, or they refuse to check to see if they are after I ask them if they could, and I have no other recourse but a vote-kick

No, I don't just blindly kick people with good aim, or even somebody that just "killed" me... that's ridulous to think that. And this leads up to just another reason why hackers continue to laugh thier butts off at all of us.... because they get away with it and nobody gives a damn... no eveyone's too busy jumping all over the one guy who tried pointing him out. Ok let's put it like this, if I INDEED tried vote kicking everyone for killing me, or even for having good aim or something, then why am I not vote kicking very much? I know I'm not that good to be kicking everyones butt like that.... (so that I'd never wind up dying)....

Anyways you have nothing to worry about anymore, as I don't vote kick anyone anymore... nobody ever does anything about anyone whether they are really hacking or not.... not even LOOK at the person to see what they are doing or ask why I'm vote kicking.... no, I just leave the server if there is somebody running amok now..... and find another one.... only that leads me to here... where I posted about the fact I run into them frequently.... as in a few a week or so....but I can see now nobody cares.... they just assume I'm trying to get innocent people kicked off all the servers instead (really what's the point in that? BTW, cableguy from TRR is the one who banned me, AND IT WASNT FOR A VOTE KICK. I stopped vote kicking on your server.... a long time ago... because you guys made a huge stink about ANYONE who did... not just me. People complain a lot but in the days I have played bf2 there where two hackers I know off.
One was on my clan...and was kicked the other was a player that played in the same server as I.
It was true that I never thought they where hackers until other guys of my clan pick them off, but the reality is that PB has caught and banished them.
After they were banned I reviewd some footage and discovered that they were really hacking...bottom line PB did it´s job with those guys.

hacks and hackers exist, they aren´t as widespread as people say, and PB can get them...not all but some, I think the main goal of PB is acting as a deterrent and in my case I don´t find a lot of hackers so I am happy with PB.

After all if Virus checkers and firewalls worked all the time how come we still get spyware on our systems. At the end of the day the hack programmers are always one step ahead of PB.

This game just needs an spectator mode in ranked servers like QW so you can see by your own if he/she is doing what you suspect....or just force battlerecorder on all ranked servers.
