In BF2 once you had your jet you had to think about a place to drop your bombs that would yield the best amount of kills because reloading them wasn't easy. Same with the rockets, you had to think about firing them because you only had a limited amount. Giving a vehicle unlimited ammo just gives the player a sense of worthlessness to whatever armory of weapons they are carrying.
If the infinite ammo was done the way I am saying, jets and copters would be the same as in BF2 except without having to go back to the airport. Jets would have to wait say maybe 20-30 seconds for bombs to reload which is close to the time it takes already in BF2 to do a fly-by of the runway after dropping your bombs.

The only problem I see with the concept of infinite ammo is that if there is a Commander in BF3 he has one less thing he can do (dropping supplies). Supply drops were annoying most of the time because the Commander would either miss you completely and get the supplies stuck where you can't get it or drop it on enemy snipers or the enemy commander if he finds him or even give it to the enemy just to be a ****. You are extremely lucky if the Commander knows what he is doing.

I wonder if commander is reimplemented, if the consolers go over to it pushing the pick up button thinking it worked like CoD: Modern Whorefare 2 care packages

if you think its fine for jets to not have to re-supply, you are insane.

Why is it insane? Did forget you also have to land to repair attack copters in BC2 which should be required in BF3. Seriously, though, doing a fly-by to resupply at the airport and repair? Tell me how that isn't more insane?

If a jet has to wait 30 seconds for bombs or cannon ammo to be resupplied while flying around, that jet is out of combat. The pilot can only fly around and drop flares if under attack. If the time to resupply needs to be extended for balance then DICE would do it.

Look at the Attack copter in BC2. Missiles take time to reload/resupply. The gunner cannon takes time to reload/resupply. While it may not be more than a few seconds, that is still time for someone to shoot it out of the sky. That time would be extended on jets. It would be the same thing as BC2, you don't have to go to the helipad to reload.

Also something I didn't even think of until now. Air collisions would be reduced at the airport since jets and copters wouldn't by resupplying there anymore. It happens very often in BF2.

Aircraft and especially jets are different because they are rarely as exposed as ground vehicles.
Forcing them to land and rearm makes them burnable to spec-ops and enemy counterstrikes. As an added bonus, 50% of the "pilots" will kill themselves while attempting to land

It is true that the jet would be of combat, but it will also be out of harms way. The thing many hated about BF2 jets were that they could rush in on the target and drop their bombs before anyone had a chance to react, and then be gone. Choppers and Tanks are tough and powerful, but they also have to put themselves in harms way to get anything done.

The smoke trick... not really a trick... just use smoke like it should be.

If you get tracered, pop smoke (tracer comes off) retreat, repair etc. If face to face with a tank and you're screwed pop smoke, retreat, repair, etc. If you're damaged pop smoke, retreat, repair, etc...

Its easily the most obviously useful perk for tanks in BC2 haha. Always beats the uber damage perk and the armor if you know what you're doing.

I would always find myself using the alt weapon perk in vehicles just in case I got picked up as a gunner in a heli. Even though the coaxial is weak as hell against infantry, it still beats having to wait for the main cannon to reload to kill a single foot soldier.

                  Smoke is better. :P

Although the only thing the extra damage perk is goof for though is gunning in a heli.

I'd always make sure to have the alt weapon perk so I could use the gunner's tracer. Then again I hate the whole vehicle spec/perk thing so I'm just hoping it doesn't come back in BF3.

I just never realized how effective it was outside of choppers. I used to always use the fast reload. It's particularly useful in tank v. tank battles.

It don't necessarily beat the damage+ if you use smoke, you can still be hit in the smoke especially if you're far since the smoke screen isn't that big, and the other guy can repair too while you're in your smoke. But it's true its one of the best perk when you're alone against tracer or multiple enemies. Though I went 45/5 with damage+ on 1000 tickets heavy metal some days ago, when I was traced I just had to hide behind the windmill or even just reverse when the rocket was going to hit me, because I was in a good position I didn't have to use smoke.

Then again I hate the whole vehicle spec/perk thing so I'm just hoping it doesn't come back in BF3.
If there's no perks in BF3 and you have access to almost everything in a tank (smoke, coaxial) then I hope a tank can die in one rocket in the rear just like 1942/2142.

This. If tanks automatically have all essentially all the perks in BC2, they'll be overpowered and if they don't have anything, they'll be underpowered, I think.

Just because there are perks in CoD doesn't mean the perks in BC2 didn't work out alright. :)

It would be rather powerful if a tank had all features available.

I still wouldnt want them to die in one hit from behind though. Two would be OK.

If they die in one hit like in BF2142 then they should also have the zoom capabilities of 2142 because if they're one hit from behind they're useless in urban combat situations and are only good for long-range mortaring. I was a big tank junkie in 2142 but I never used them for storming a base like in BF2 (it was still a stupid idea in BF2 but at least it wasn't instantly lethal). Rather I just shelled enemy positions from a long ways off. If you're worried about tanks camping and spawnkilling, making them one hit from behind is the worst thing you could do tbh. I used to get gunners in the top of my A8 on Tampa who would keep spamming 'Go go go!!!' when we got near an enemy base and I kept spamming the commo rose equivalent of '**** off' back at them. Then you'd see them later with a tank driving full speed straight into an enemy base where people would be waiting with pilums and motion mines. Morons.

Anyway, also remember that BF2142 had an invincibility shield so if you were smart and watched your back you could still prevent the OHK attacks. Unless BF3 is going to have something like that, and is still going to have fly-by-wire AT missiles like the SRAW, OHK to the back is unacceptable.
